The funniest part is, even though I never watched Critical Role, as a gamer, I can immediately tell when there were moments the dice rolled badly and made some of the moments Vox Machina hilarious.
Well I mean, struggling with a door while supposedly being a bunch of fantasy protagonists is a dead giveaway.
I didn't know it was based on a DnD campaign while watching the first season but I was raising eyebrows sometimes because I had the samekind of feeling sometimes. Watching critical role knwo everything makes sense ^^
Pike being an astral projection is a reference on how the real player had to get tonthe session through Discord.
I have 0 knowledge abt dnd, can you give some examples-
@@hopper8514 Like when the pepper shot didn’t fire in the first episode’s brawl scene, that means the player rolled either a 0 or a very low number that equaled the gun not working. Or when Vix snuck into the room to search the trunk during the gala, Scanlan’s excuse of “he got the squirts” was clearly a high number and that’s the excuse the player went with.
I love Percy asking for his gun back because the demon was gone and Scanlan chucking the gun into an acid pool then *BAM* demon's dying.
Vex: "How did you know?"
Scanlan: "Total guess"
It was even funnier in the campaign, legit he used “friends” on him cause scanlan knows Percy would never give him his gun
Real,it's a really funny way to defeat a villian.

matt voices some of the major character and a lot of the extras. well thecnically he has voices every single one of them before aside form the main cast. Soo it's pretty cool to have some character that are soo easilly identifiable as Matt.
@@danielribeiro1433 yeah absolutely, and having watched easily 500 hours of critical role I find it a joy to see him still play NPC roles in the series. I love it.
I love hearing Matt playing people getting brutally murdered in the background, it's a nice little nod to the fact that he is still all of those people in the back of my mind.
Proof that Amazon and Netflix each have their own hit and miss moments, and for Amazon, this one's a hit 👍

I always think of Percy as a ranger but keep forgetting that gunslinger is a fighter subclass
@Tin Watchman it was. But ranger would make more sense for the gunslinger subclass
@@epsilon497Depends on the kind of gunslinger archetype you try to meet. Since Percy wasn't a survivalist it made more sense to lean towards fighter.
Rangers are a bit weird since they kind of combine two archetypes into one class... Aragorn (where the class gets it name, melee proficiency, its survivalist/wilderness and healing aspects) and Legolas (where it gets the bow, hunter, and nature magic from).
Percy really doesn't fit either of these roles most likely due to Vex already filling that role when Percy joined.
Dude not going to lie: for a while I thought Percy was a fighter/warlock combo... since he had that deal with the demon.
He has Magic Initiate: Warlock if I remember correctly, so he has a few spells. @@jocelynfisher3174

I think a no-brainer special feature would be comparing iconic scenes between the live-action and animated version. There’s quite a few out on RUclips, but it’ll be nice having them all in once collection, and made officially.

I wouldn’t like to compare them, both are great but distinct, united by the one thing we all know to be true: Grey DeLisle always does a great villain performance.
Same animation studio (Titmouse), and Keyleth is inspired by Avatar / Korra.
(Maybe only subconsciously when Marisha created the character, but she kind of embraced it with an elemental-themed druid on a quest in game. And even more in the show.)
Vox Machina is honestly one of the best shows I've seen

Ironically that's what Scanlan did for everyone who watched the game. Sam wanted to play "the worst combination of race and class" and got Gnome Bard from that, but he made that shit work to the point that he proved just how versatile and powerful Bards can be.

NGL I think because it was based on a DND campaign that the story wrote itself, like the writing, decision making and twists are that good and well thought out because of the game
A lot of it is Matt Mercer does an amazing job mapping out the game as the DM and making it fun

Brimsythe is SO SMALL compared to the Chroma Conclave gang
Dragons keep growing larger and more powerful as they age. Brimscythe is a Young/Adult dragon, roughly 100 years old or so. The rest of the Conclave are all Ancients, 800-1000 years old. Brimscythe is the overly excited kid who tags along with the others, the ones who are actually the threats and powerhouses of the Conclave.
