    Just found these videos, amazing work!

    Again a fantastic video! You inspired me to really work on my car, a land cruiser j90, and get it in a great condition again 🙃.
    Also bought a scissor lift to be able to do the tougher jobs.
    Last month I found a beautiful Audi 80, perfect car for the weekends and smaller trips. Last weekend I changed the headgasket and every belt, filter and fluid.
    Really proud of my cars and achievements so far, a year ago I didn't think I would have dared to do the works I recently did.
    Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm, experience and everything you do with your cars!
    Regards!

    I never understood the fascination of European wheel bolts. Have you ever tried to change a tire at -40c in the tundra of James’ Bay in pitch dark with bears and wolfs around, and frozen hands? Google the place. Not fun. Wheel studs are so much better for that. I guess this is why these cars aren’t sold much here (mind you, I have an Audi A5, so yeah, there is that). 😊. Love the videos and keep them coming.

      The Porsches I drive all have studs, same as the Rover. I much prefer that.

      I just love the style of your videos. The work on the car is excellent too! But I’m very inspired by your style.

      Trying and learning on this project, especially when it comes to filming during restoration and how much time it actually takes. The car is going to be decent, but the how and when to film efficiently is the real task.

    Question: with time/use, all those bolts don't tend to get loose?

    • @OnlyARoadtripAway
      @OnlyARoadtripAway  Год назад +1

      If torqued to spec, those won‘t come loose. Most of them have never been off and were perfectly tight and in reusable condition.

    Lots of new shiny bits :) What did you coat the underside with ?

    • @OnlyARoadtripAway
      @OnlyARoadtripAway  Год назад +1

      The boot floor underside got a coat of paintable underseal I had flying around, the rest is still original. Unfortuantely there is a thick coating of some stuff someone put on years ago and I don‘t have the tools or patience to remove it.

    Totally unrelated question: You're in Germany, right?
    Is there any talk in the news or in public about a possible home heating fuel shortage or rationing?

    • @OnlyARoadtripAway
      @OnlyARoadtripAway  Год назад +1

      Possible blackouts in winter but realistically - life's moving on fine. Bit more expensive than before though...

    I wish there would be more “non redneck” automotive youtubers. 🥲 Really love Your and Goerge Karellas type of content. I huge Limo fan… Bought WV Pheaton for proper wrench festival, but fuel prices killed an idea to drop 15k on 5k car… so I left this money for meaningful investments and bought back up car for my project- Mercedes A class, which became a project it self…😅 soo I dropped 2k on a 1k car just for engine maintenance. Besides that, now there’s no more leaks and everything is shiny as fuck like it was from factory. And now watching your content I understood that this was more for my mental health than actually mechanical needed work. Thanks for inspiration to get shit done properly!
