- A 205 GTI for £4,000 sounds like a guaranteed profit for Drew and Paul but there is a catch. In 2003 this car had an insurance write off and unless they can get it removed from the record it will seriously affect how much they can sell the car for.

WOW! What a gorgeous color.....absolutely perfect on this magnificent car.
I was just wondering if the original owner said he fixed it and it was back on the road within weeks, then why all these years later was the door damage still there!
Done again???
Exactly, the damage so just minimal and chose to drive it as is...
Every 205 Gti needs to be saved ! God I had the best times on the road in my rocket tin can.
Thanks for sharing this I have had 4
205s they are the best hatch love them to bits
Car looks great… but Sorrento wasn’t an option in ‘93. Also those late 1.9s were really choked by the Cat. I should know as I owned L952PWK:). I’m back to an F reg now and they really feel much more raw and lively.
Great restoration of this GTi 205 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I was hoping they would drive it up to Bath to show the original owner their resto work and get his reaction
What a cool car. I remember driving one here in the States, but I couldn’t afford to buy it at the time. But what a fun car to drive 👍
Always thought Drew was a knob now he confirmed it, a 205 over a Golf , stick to antiques 😂😂😂😂
Paul and his team really are good at restoration no doubt about it the car looks great
It was a nice job when it was finished. Great cars in their day.
You should never ever change the car’s original colour
Should’ve kept it white I reckon 😮
This video showed a white car turning into a Sorento Green in the very next shot. Clearly it wasn't restored to original which is a shame.
I struggled selling an 85 1.6 years ago for £300.
I'd rather the Cat C over the sunroof.
WOW!!! what a splendid job !!! Where can i found the same color carpet?
Is that the original colour if not then it goes against the little blokes principals of original original original.
But, “Condition Inspected” isn’t a truly clean record. So, no it’s not worth it.
You'll recognize the 205 owner if you've done nurburgring trackdays with DN Events or circuit days.
How did the previous owner manage to send them a letter without an address or a stamp on the envelope 🤣
He made an email 🤣🤣🤣
An envelope within an envelope. Possibly the outer envelope was addressed to the TV production company or Drew's 'guessed' business address - whatever Google turned up.
In france, every 25+ young businessman had a GTI. They were fun but after long journeys they needed to go back to the garage to get the engine tinkered with🤦🏻♂️
I had one for four years of fantastic driving (and I mean wringing it’s neck) with no mechanical problems.
@@johngreenwood1972 lucky you John.
Shame they didn’t show the restoration in this video
Watched this one yesterday!
L reg,,,,,,So a 1.9 with the performance of a 1.6 thanks to cat and power steering
My mate dave rudeboy sold a 2 owner 1.9 gti 205 for 800 back in the day no one wanted it great car tho 💪😁
Cats are written off too easily
I had two gti 2.6 and the 1.9 both in miami blue
1.6 don’t you mean
2.6 would be good though.
@@thecarzarethestarz1370 that's the one this phone got a mind of its own
And 5 minutes with a screw driver it will get stolen again
4k🤔
I made was of the guys who made that carpet 😄 my claim to fame
If that made sense I could understand it
Prichard need to stick to selling chairs. And his side kick isnt much better.
Wiser to complete the research before handing over your cash. Not so good TV drama though ...
Never had a filling 😂bull shit
A poor car show compared to others, stick to antiques
Stolen recovered would be a Cat D back then?
It was stolen recovered and cat C.
drew should stick to antiques
