One thing about Echo with debuffs is sometimes the debuff will miss, so Echo will give you a second chance for it to land. As you said, it’s nothing you can rely upon, but it’s nice when it happens.
I just got rob and Jade into my team. I always liked Serena, she allowed me to keep farm monster as she heals me. I didn't know that sylvando was better at healing 😂 Again i was going for wands, but I'm not sure if I should reset, since I'm around the encounter with the siren, I should be close to act 2, as you said that level 35 is kinda act 2. My serena is level 25-26 don't remember exactly. But rob definitely looks better than her. Looking forward to your sylvando guide! Your video are really underrated. I would recommend to have like a graphic conclusion of the path to go at the end. Since English isn't my first language, and my game is in Spanish, sometimes it's hard to remember the skills at the end of the video, also looking them in internet isn't as easy, as for example, pokemon attacks and stuff 😢 I highly appreciate your tips!
I wouldn't worry about it too much. Resetting skill points is fairly cheap anyway for experimenting. Just have fun with your first playthrough! I'm really glad you like the videos! It means a lot. Adding a graphic is something I can definitely consider doing yeah!
If only they add oomphle to Serena. She could be way better as support. Perfect for Erick divide build. Which is why in act 2, she's the best party member.
Since Square and Enix aren’t competitors anymore it would be nice if Dragon Quest adopted the same naming conventions for tiered spells as Final Fantasy. Dragon Quest’s spell names don’t feel intuitive at all but you can use context clues to interpret what a vast majority of the spells in the Final Fantasy series are going to do just by glancing at them. My little brother figured it out when he was like five years old and barely able to read.
While I agree that they’re not always the simplest to understand at first glance, the spell names are a core part of the series identity and changing them to match Final fantasy would just make each respective list of magic feel more generic. The DQ names have a lot more charm rather than just ‘Fire’ and ‘Ice’
mods will let you keep the abilities past that point. highly recommended for a modded playthrough after winning the game normally or you get as far as you can.
after i win the game on pc i plan on installing a mod that makes it so wene you get veronicas list of abilities and spells in act 2 for serena they will be kept on her for act 3. that's one of the main advantages to buying the game on pc is mods.

Snap-Crackle-Poof can be super helpful in certain boss fights (e.g. that damn spider), especially with super strong enemies enabled
I tend to not bring Serena for that fight but yeah that could definitely be useful to use there.
