- U.S. Marine Corps Recruits arrive at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, and receive their initial haircuts upon arriving to the Receiving Building.
The recruits received their initial gear and uniform issue after stepping onto the yellow footprints. Drill instructors instructs marine corps recruits. While recruits are on the depot, they will have drill instructors supervising them every day, everywhere they go.
When becoming United States Marines, weekly haircuts are meant to strip recruits of their individuality and for hygienic purposes.
Also, Coast Guard Recruits begin their eight-week journey at Training Center Cape May, N.J., by receiving their first haircuts. At Center Cape May the recruits of today are transformed into the Coast Guard men and women of tomorrow.

I guess talking about last nights game with the barber is out of the question
When that DI’s voice cracked when he said “4” I LOST IT
i did too 😂😂😂😂
(2:42) The feds give the recruits face masks but no neck strips (that is the strip of paper that is wrapped around the neck, in order to keep the hair shavings from falling down the neck and to prevent the spread of diseases that might arise from a contaminated chair drape from diseased skin or hair). Does that make sense? It's half-assed to me.
They have to shave over 20 men who still have a full head of hair in less than an hour so of course its gonna be half assed. And thats another reason why you should shave your hair before going
Bro looks like chick
@@pxolqopt3597 I agree and never served a day in my life. I'd have gotten my hair shaved before going if I was serving in the army
Why did I find the hair cutting so satisfying 😅
Because you are observing it & not actually doing it!
Why do some of these individuals look like they either want to run or cry?
As a military barber for over 20 years back in the 70's and 80's some did cry, some smiled and some were pissed off but most took it in stride.
Cause they do but they signed up for it
@@russellbogrett605 were there any styles people could have (men) that could get bypassed or you just cant have hair at all
@@DarealDougz yes, you can have a flattop or a high n tight. The sides can be bald but the top can be no longer than 3/4. You sides and back must be a tight taper and the front of your hair cannot touch the top of your eyebrow. Of course if you had a commanding officer that wanted you to have a shaved head you got a shaved head. Had a first year private had to make three trips to the barbershop until his co was satisfied. Nowadays hair is not a issue as most men keep short haircuts but back in my day it was always a issue.
Because at this moment you're nervous AF with little to no sleep due to standing in lines for 50+ hours
I think all Military men look very striking and handsome!
Aerodynamic dudes
Too bad the ladies don't have the experience to be equal to the guys
i'n think it would be a better opinion that every pantone get a pair of these hair trimmers and the recruits shave each other's hair, the first steep to teamwork.
Watching this in the comfort of my bed
😁😁
Why do these barbers think their so tough lmao. I don't remember mine saying anything to me. As a matter if fact I think I already had my hair shaved real low.
I think he seemed pretty polite about it. Well, for Parris Island or San Diego, anyway.
These Marines all look very handsome!
4:16 4 that voice crack
4:13*
half of this is coast guard lol
Hahha what is so fucken funny -_- 😑😑
America has heard the bugle call.
Good morning sir 🇱🇰

Can anyone get a cut there when they aren't cutting recruits hair
The most important thing a 18 year old male could do with his life is to enlist in a branch of the armed forces. Even only one tour (it never turns out that way). Its a opportunity to be part of something bigger than yourself. You will earn respect and learn about discipline and being accountable for your own actions.
I suggest touring the VA hospital before enlisting. Count legs, listen to stories of those who survived. Then look up ptsd stats and suicide rates.
Wrong
I suggest experimenting in the civilian world from 18-24. Smoke some weed, get a job, f..k some girls. And then go for 20 years and retire at 44. Then move to Mexico with your retirement money and die at 60 lol
Or become a police officer at 44 getting that salary and retirement at the same time 😯. And have a couple million saved up by 60. You'll still die at 60 tho, you won't be able to spend any of the money. You're leaving it to you wife and her new boyfriend 🤣
I enlisted when draft was still being used. I chose to have a choice never looked back. No regrets.
Bros smiling while getting the haircut
Yeah because that was navy recruit lol its calm there
Bonjour ou bonsoir,c'est selon...
Je n'ai aucun souci sur le fait qu'une femme puisde faire une carriere mitaire peut importe si terre, air ou mer...cependant comme les hommes elle doit passer par la tondeuse régulièrement...
i want to know what is the brand name of this hair cut trimmer machine!?
Probably Oster 76
What I hate about the US Armed Forces is Headshaving. We dont have that in Most Countries in Europe.
So rough wit they heads 💀
I hate remember seeing this place even just a video
Os caras cortam o cabelo todo errado de sacanagem mesmo...

Probably to serve their country? 🗿

Do women have to get haircuts, or is there a double standard?
Double standard
@@pxolqopt3597 So, if it is important for men to go through basic with buzzed heads, why not use the same rationale for women? They try to insist that everyone is the same. Apparently, they do not quite believe it.
@@rac7773 I am not sure. The only reason I can think of is that hair to a woman is more important than hair for men. There is a lot of bald men in the world, but no bald women
Why pretend that men and women are the same, equal units? I still think that hair standards should be the same, at least, since physical strength standards cannot be, biologically. Either shave everyone, or allow both sexes to keep their hair. I prefer the latter standard.
@@rac7773 A lot of women can do what guys do. The hair should be the same as well as everything else. I know women who could be seals but people are morons, sexist pieces of crap
I wonder how my Italian Trainer feels about a black man in My Marine Corps?
Is that a problem?
@@yequalsemexplusbee4322 I have an issue with such due to that community being barred for crimes against humanity and for selling me off into sex slavery as an adolescent child, yup!
@@IntercontinentalArmy yeah man I feel ya on that one. Especially during slavery when my kind was raped and sold off on plantations. The trail of tears, the Jim Crow Laws hanging up many indigenous tribes and POC alike. But hey, sorry that happened to ya
@@yequalsemexplusbee4322 Your people did that to themselves. Your people aren't Native American either. Your people trespassed on Native American Rservations and then raped, molested, and committed genocide. Your communities victim mentality is a scam.
You don’t want to get ugly in the marines, be a girl !

When I had mine done in 75 we didn't even get covered up. Some of the guys got out of the chair covered in hair.
