In this video, I venture down to South Beach to catch the arrival of USS Bataan for the first-ever Fleet Week Miami at PortMiami! It was also joined by an F-18 flyover.

Thank you for the heads up. Did not know Miami was doing this. I've been to the one in fort Lauderdale several times. I worked at the city of Dania Beach which is right next to the port and we used to get great views from the pier and also the city sponsored events for the sailors.

In the Philippines they pronounce Bataan as Ba ta an. I know that we as Americans pronounce things differently. Leyte would be pronounced as long A's like as if it were spelled Laytay.. Since my wife is from the Philippines she is quick to correct me when I say Filipino words wrong.

F18s are extremely loud, I've been to Coronado Naval Air Station, where they often did exercises. You can't miss it, and I live in wpb, FL so when the air force had planes here,(different plane) they often fly low and secure air space when then Trump was in office, of Mar a Lago. A lot of us service members have hearing loss 😅

Extremely versatile ship. Is equipped with F35 stealth jump jets witch leaves the question. Is the USS Bataan a small carrier or Amphibious Assault Ship?? Or maybe an Amphibious Assault Carrier 🤔🤔🤔
Amphibious Assault Ship. The ship transports Marines. The Marines execute a beach landing/Amphibious Assault. In WWII parlance, the ship would be considered a light carrier.
