Garn! It'll never fly! 😜😈 Actually we've got a handful of those little 1811 motors arriving next week. But we'll probably make up another twin though a bit lighter than our drone motors powered bog and 100 mile an hour tape versions. Do prefer the aileron servos out at the tips though if you are going to use 2 of them. Might try 1 of the 1811 ones on the nose of a 48cm version as they come with the rubber band prop mounts in the package. Something us Old Kamikaze Pilots really need to save on props and motor shafts! 🙄😂
It's bloody half past midnight here, what are you doing up so early! 🤣 Ailerons would be more efficient further outboard, but they do work well enough inboard like that and it meant I didn't need to extend the servo wires. Pure laziness. 😓. Haven't tried one of the 1811's before, it should be man enough for that lightweight I reckon and as you say, come with a prop saver, though I've ordered a 4x3 which is recommended and not sure if the prop saver will take it. To be honest I'd quite like to find a folding prop to go on it as it might be better for fpv, if I manage to try it. Have you recovered from your fall old chap!
@@bobflyman LOL It's mid morning here Ya Daft Old Ghit! Or you like the long-gone father of my old German Expat mate? In former days the Old Fellah would ring my mate up here for a chat - at 1 or 2 in the morning! Not the worst of it though - he'd just get back to sleep when the Old Boy (while wandering around his camp in Germany in his Alzheimer's fog) would suddenly think "That's it! I wanted to talk to "The Boy" and ring him up again! 🙄😁 As to the fall, back on my (unsteady) feet now and a few different more "Smarties" in the morning now so we'll see how much longer this Old Fart will last. Flying today, but the winter weather is just as miserable as in England! A hot coffee with friends always improves the outlook though. 😉😊
Looking forward to the maiden. I could be afraid that the wings might fold, 'em being cut and only tacked on with hot glue, with no central spar. But, I don't know much about it. It looks grand. And those FPV setups are nifty! Good one. Give my best to parachute man, unless he is out and "rocking" the van! 😊
Thanks, so am I. I'd be very surprised if the wings fold, you'd be surprised how strong a few hot glue tacks are. You would have real trouble trying to even pull it apart! And yes, those little video tx's are amazing. Once I get the motor from China the maiden will follow as soon as I get a good day 😃
Ok ok …. I’m interested 😂 right think I’ll draw off your experiences and build one myself was looking for something for fpv seems a quite suitable , thanks for sharing cheers sir 👍🙏
Give it a go. It's quite addictive. There are 3 or 4 big Facebook groups with advice etc. Just search Lidl glider. The Lidl gliders are only in the shop once year but search Playtive glider and you'll find them. Wingspan is about 86 cms.
Lucky you! I made a great little bi-plane using 2 small Lidls. It's a brilliant little flyer. Build blog is on my channel too. ruclips.net/video/vjW4iJGycPo/видео.htmlsi=_E9kCK-ZrbHOwuhu
In UK they are only in the stores once a year for a week or so. Usually around May, or June. The glider is a Playtive glider, if you Google that you can find them, but not as cheap, £10 say, as in Lidl!
In the UK only in the shops once a year around May. If you search Playtive glider you can find them on E Bay etc. but more expensive, say £20 they are around £9 when in Lidl.
You must be the foremost expert on Lidl glider conversions Bob, this one's going to be such a sweet flyer 🙂👍
I'm hoping, it's almost a virgin Lidl!

@theoztreecrasher2647 oh yes, of course. Grey moment. It's the antipodes. About 12 hours difference.
Keep taking the meds.
very nice sir looking forward to the maiden with FPV 👍👍
Thanks, so am I. 😉 It's about time I actually flew an RC plane FPV, I've had those tx's a long time!

They never seem to have these gliders in my local Lidls 😔
