- Finally theres a light in the distance....we are on my most favorite season of Power Rangers. We've been on a dynamic journey over the past few months and now we get to talk about a top 5 season of the franchise. Dino Thunder both celebrated the past while setting up a new audience almost flawlessly.

Dino thunder had great season to me THIS season was THE spirtial successor to the original mmpr team.. I love the cast and crew for this season they fit really well and mesh really good..
1: trent was a bad ass white ranger wrecked the rangers when he was evil i am sooo happy he didnt get nerfed when he turnd good..
2: each ranger had a focus episode and i enjoyed connors the most he had to learn to trust in himself and earned both battlizer and triassic power..
3: The finale was ONE OF THE best final season in a long time prom and kira singing..

Easily one of my favorite seasons. Love how they update the mighty morphin seasons. Love how they act like real teenagers throughout this show. I agree with you this is easily the best way they have written Tommy.
You need to start watching super Sentai. You won’t regret it. I’ve watched Samurai sentai shinkenger (Power rangers Samurai) and it’s so much better than samurai. I fell in love with the characters, the story, everything. I’ve gotten addicted to super sentai. You need to try it. Great review!

I hope someday they will make a movie about a Power Rangers team meet their Super Sentai counterpart from another dimension

Dino Thunder hits a very specific kind of nostalgia for me. The Tommy return, the interesting team dynamic, the attempt at modernization. Good stuff. Probably my favorite Blue Ranger.

Wow I started rewatching it about a week or so ago too. Love this season but it was one of the first I grew up watching so I had to see if it held up. And like you said, Hell Yeahhh!
Helll yeeaaahhh. Some of the jokes are even funnier years later. This feels like the perfect dinosaur season after mighty Morphin

the reasson they brought an evil white ranger clone and they also avoided having Trent in some fight scenes was because in Abaranger the white ranger doesnt turn good till the very end so there a huge amount of footage of him fighting the rangers while there was close to none of him fighting with the rangers.
This season was my favorite with ninja storm and it also had my favorite team ups of all time
Tommy v Zeltrax is one of the top beefs in the FRANCHISE
This season was my first time watching Power Rangers back in 2004 when i was 4 years old.
It looked cool since i remembered loving Dinosaurs back in 2004, btw this season came out the same year in Mega Man Zero 3 and Gundam SEED Destiny, Transformers Energon, Mega Man Battle Network 4 Blue Moon and Red Sun.
Great Review man, I just finished watching this and I completely agree with almost every single word you said. This is a fantastic series with characters that feel real and an engaging story. I disagree about the finale though. I really like the final battle and Mesogog's pay off. I also love the ending although I don't think Tommy really needed to hang his helmet up as he did come back in the Legendary Battle special but my main issue is Zeltrax, how the hell did he survive after Tommy destroyed him? It really is confusing. I also really like the clone White Ranger storyline and while it may not have went anywhere but the fight between him and Trent was amazing. I really love this series. I'd give it a 10/10 for personal nostalgia but it's a 9/10 for my critic rating. I hope it changes when I do my 3rd rewatch before summer ends.
I agree with you 100% the zeltrax endinf was odd as hell lmao. Im assuming Disney didn't approve of having him be destroyed. Definitely a weird decision.
@@MarcusDigital Yeah it was so confusing. They really should have kept Zeltrax dead after Tommy destroyed him because that was a fantastic fight. They probably just did it because of Sentai footage as that was why they did the clone White Ranger. Also some of the CGI and effects are dated. The Dinosaur in episode 1 is laughable but this is an outstanding TV show and by far one of the best TV shows ever.
The reason why they had a clone white ranger because in the sentai version the white ranger/abarekiller was evil until the last minute and they wanted to use more footage them fighting him.
Techinacly turning everyone into lizard people would be good for the environment and could solve world hunger. Cold-blooded animals like crocodiles can go a year without eating because their body does not need to waste a lot of angry heating itself up.

Dude dino thunder was 5 years old mes favourite show, but tommy and trents civilian powers were just the same.
Also Connors triassic mode was the first Japanese power up in sentai, hence why its sleek and badass and not a whole bunch of plastic.

@@donting24 because Trent can't phase through objects only make himself translucent in the same way Tommy can turn invisible.
Trent's only other power is teleportation but considering how many portals there were in mesogogs lair basically everyone could teleport

@@MarcusDigital The Zeltrax arc makes no sense. They should have kept him dead after Tommy destroyed him in the Ship. That was a satisfying pay off.

Marcus have you read the power rangers comic series? I’m reading it currently and I love it! If you haven’t you should read, and then make videos like this giving your thoughts!
Full disclosure: I know I’m late, i’ve also said what I’m about to say before elsewhere and I will say it again.
While Anton saving Trent was good for his narrative, I feel it was not good for ranger team dynamics, That moment when they realized the Trent lied to them, they kind of ignore the fact that it wasn’t them that saved Trent from being evil and when Tommy said he’d have to ask Trent to surrender is morpher, He ignored the fact that he wasn’t the one to put that thing on Trent’s wrist in the first place, had all that actually happened, maybe their feelings of betrayal when The cat got out of the bag would’ve been validated, but as it stands, they should really keep those feelings to themselves.
All that and there’s these things where Trent kind of saved Tommy from Zelltrax, he retrieved the Triassic shield of triumph for Conner, he saved Ethan from a falling tree and he saved everyone from a comic book world they would’ve otherwise not survived, keeping their feelings of being lied to to themselves, acknowledging all he’s done for them instead of snitching on Anton and pondering their lack of a role in Trent’s reformation would have been sufficient thanks.
I'm just glad Trent wasn't sidelined as a lot of 6th rangers always get pushed to the sideline. A good example would be Cam in Ninja Storm.
@@leeobrien2004 for what it’s worth, amen to that, but for some weird reason, it grinds my gears about the false entitlement to Trent’s loyalty the others had, I already said why, but maybe it’s because Dino thunder is a spiritual successor to MMPR and there really ought to be in-universe consequences to not hitting certain beats if such choices were to be made.

@@leeobrien2004 okay, but what happened wasn’t okay, they got off scot free for leaving him for evil and then screamed betrayal like they didn’t (and no, Conner checking if Trent was OK after blasting him does not count), it seems hypocritical, it seems toxic, makes them all seem like they are holier than thou and see Trent as less than just because he started out evil and kicked their butts, and if they, any of them, acknowledged how they were treating Trent after all this happened, that pre-finale battle included, all might have been forgiven, might have been.

Honestly I liked this season when I first saw it on tv but I feel like they used JDF's character too damn much. It would have been better if we could have gotten Jason in this season or even Adam maybe or even Zack would be dope instead of Tommy and especially later since he gets the master morpher makes it seem like he's invincible which isn't fair for Jason or any of the other rangers. I get that Tommy is popular but come on man you could have given the role to any other ranger in dino thunder and it still would have been a great season. What do you think Marcus? Do you think dino thunder still would have been a great season with or without Tommy and if Jason Adam or even Zack came back in Tommy's place?
The season would of still held strong. Jason , Zack, & Adam are all beloved characters. But Tommy returning really gave the franchise new life. Jdf resignate more due to his long Ranger history
@@MarcusDigital I want to disagree with you Marcus but I respect your opinion and yes I agree that Tommy does resonate with power rangers due to his long history. I mean yes we saw Adam come back for one episode of Space and Jason did come back for that team up in Beast Morphers I just wish we could have gotten to see more of them showing up like Tommy did in Dino Thunder then just as cameo appearances. Overall though Dino Thunder is still an awesome season😁
