Always good info. i’m planning to get those limbs for a 17 inch riser I definitely going to get 5 pounds lighter than what I was thinking probably #4O or #45 .
Just buy Bosen ilf longbow LCS limbs. I think they are much better. Border is overated. And they suck in customer service. 3 cracking scottish risers and 2 sets of limbs among my colleagues.
Another great watch mate! Great to hear about the infamous Border. I’m curious, you said you had a border tempest riser, did you try those limbs with the tempest? I looked seriously at the border risers but price was definitely a factor, maybe one day. Thanks again, I hope you can keep these coming, high value

@ I’ve just purchased my first ILF so enjoying your reviews on those products, if you get your hands on some Uukha limbs I’d be interested to hear what you think of them. Hi Max, thanks for your videos. I’ve been enjoying them a lot. I was curious as to if you think the VPA vapor 15” riser would be a good pair with the Bosen LCS longbow limbs? I want to put together an ilf hunting bow. I’d mostly hunt from a tree stand. My draw length is 27” maybe a little longer. If that is in fact a good match, what length limb would you recommend? I worry about having a really long bow up in a tree but also want to get the best performance I can out of the limbs. I’m open to any suggestions as far as riser and limb combinations. I appreciate your time!
@@dallinhuffstutler202 hey mate! Such a kind and intersting comment! Thank you for that! Refreshing indeed. I was running the 13" VPA and have since sold it to pay bills. If the 15" version is anywhere close to it, it will have quite relaxed limb pad angles and require quite some brace height to stabilise the longbow limbs. There is no doubt in my mind that the Bosen limbs would be a great fit. Long limbs would make a 60" setup and should provide stack free draw to about 27.5 inches while still having good performance and less brace. XL limbs would have a smoother draw and need more brace but length would be still okay and possibly a little more relaxed at holding position. It is a bit of a gamble but I'd probably go longer overall bow for the sake of nicer draw cycle and stability. If they figured out to put a stabiliser hole in the longer riser I'd definitely add a 6inch dampening staby. That's just my layman's 2 cents but I hope that helps mate! Cheers Max
@@HA-bh1wh thank you for the kind feedback! Yes I did of course. I switch and swap everything. The WF19 risers are so aggressiv in the limb pockets that I would ruin the limbs. Not easy to find a match for these.
Would this riser only be good with ILF long bow or could it hold recurve? Also not a big fan of super long bows. If I had 17” riser would a medium limbs put me at 60” bow or where could I find that info with the bosen riser? Thanks!
Nice set up and finally a riser that complements those border limbs. Did you try your bosen x large longbow limbs on this bosen reaper riser and your thoughts? I have the glass foam bosen limbs and like them very much on my das dx5 riser!!!!
@@bradlauber9097 I haven't in fact because they need a higher brace at the limb pockets therefore also much higher at the Grip. Less performance. But I'll try for sure.
My dx5 with bosen long longbow limbs makes for a 61 inch now. I use bowstrings 3 inches shorter . So I have a 58 inch string on this particular bow and run a 7.3/4 to 8 brace height. If I put my 59 inch string I get down to 7 inches. I have just over 29 inch draw. Would you happen to know how much speed you gain from 8 inch brace to a 7 inch brace? Thank you
Interesting, somewhat half-cooked review: there is no speed test done with them. And it is true: if you use Border limbs on other risers than Border you will get that "box of chocolate" syndrome: you will never know what you get.
