Its this kind of reinforcement that keeps him trying to be funny.. hes a good guitar player but the dumb faces and bad attempts at comedy make it hard to get through a video.. Smh I swear all of you fools born in the late 90s and on are so weird and not in the good way.. in the way like, "we think things that arent funny at all are funny and things that are funny we dont get." Gen Z is by far the worst generation to ever exist.. and I thought us Millenials were bad..
How to sweep pick fast af within the first 15 minutes:
1. Record it at your own pace
2. Open audio editing software
3. Speed it tf up
Now you sound like a pro
:0
Smart man
but this will get a pro thing in video editing😆😁
Or just do it over and over and practice because ur grounded and cant use ur puter😭
Then you won't actually be improving
Keep in mind... You WILL be able to sweep pick! GIVING UP IS PROHIBITED!!!
I like sandwich, you?
SteveTerreberry YES SiR!
SteveTerreberry Thanks so much man! I was litterally watching your other video on how to sweep pick 5 mins ago! Perfect timing!
You could here some White Wedding in this.
Practice practice practice!
Stevie T: showing people how to sweep pick
Me: Trying to learn (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction
Oof
Well after this you'll be able to play Rolling Stones like Yngwie Malmsteen! 😂
but I dont EAT donuts
well, satisfaction is about a million times cooler. ;-)
2-2-2-4-5-5-5-4-4 repeat
I wish I had this knowledge when I started learning to sweep. Took me ages to tab arpeggios like these out by ear! Steve, you've probably saved these young guitar guys lots time. True hero
"Here's the song you're going to learn..." 2 seconds in: nope...turns off computer, sells guitar.

Ok dude
It’s not hard at all, practice with a metronome dude
This is the hardest thing
@@laci4194 yessir
0:34 "Here is the song you guys are going to learn"... alright let's see wha- yeah nope, not gonna happen.
Lmao
Triple M XD
Yep
It's relatively easy, you just gotta go slow and steady and go increasing the speed, it's all practice
And then 10:20 lol
Very educational tutorial. I think your fans will love this. Thanks to Yousician for sponsering this video. I see you are at 950K. Lets get Stevie to a million subs. Bravo Steve.
ONE MILL!!! I can't even wait!!!
SteveTerreberry YAY STEVIE!
He deserves it way more then jared dines its about time.you should do a song with rob you guys would make some good stuff.
I was looking for this comment
This aged well! You've come so far, gives me hope to try myself
I have been practicing to a metronome
everyday for a few weeks and I can play at about 200bpm now. Can’t wait for part 2
Wow, someone doesn't just *BITE* his fingernails...he *DEVOURS* them.
you should see mine lol
Big mood
Mine look worse

I really appreciate that explanation with zoom in 7:29 because i've always had problems with using one finger to play two strings on same fret.
DethTroll Same that's what always messes me up. I can play 4 finger, 5 string sweep reliably but rolling fingers never fail to destroy my flow.

You should make a video about dropping a guitar pick and then having to look for it, or a guitar pick falling into an acoustic guitar then having to shake it out, since your videos are humor based. Something that all guitarists have painfully experienced lol.
Yeh but I just thought that it would be really funny if Steve T. did it.
Guitar Lessons - EASY TO LEARN BobbyCrispy Nothing to teach there! Since it happens to EVERY guitarist no matter how good they are!!
Guitar Lessons BobbyCrispy we have all been there XD
Please shut up. Idiot
Thats why you only play electric
Seriously thank you for this, I thought I could never do something like that, but now after the entire day of practice I'm getting a pretty good hang of it, and people, GET PAST THE FRUSTRATION, seriously once I got to the point that I could do it at a medium slow speed, it is actually incredibly fun to play. Thank you steve
Im feeling sweepy.... Sweepy???

More tutorials please! What's better than learning guitar from one of my biggest inspirations?
Richard Benson doesn't agree with the idea of "work slowly"
Victor Allain richardbensonrichardbensonrichardbenson
@@henryoppenheimer But he always used to sound dissonant and was always playing out of time. Adagio in re was a ripoff and the picking was terrible. Also, he could have played some slow melodic licks after he got arthritis but he clearly didn't know music well enough to do that. He was trash, is trash and always will be trash. Stop putting him on a pedestal as if he were a potential John Petrucci.
I dont either tbh an I'm shite

How can this tutorial be this good yet this short, have in mind i've been watching the video and playing for 2 hours
I started electric yesterday why am I watching this.
Hows it going 7 months later?
I bite my fingernails also but not all the way down to the knuckles like you lol
Steve Terreberry please for the love of god keep posting lessons on guitar! Not joking one of the best tutorials I have ever seen simple yet so educating, please do more!
Wow! This is so helpful because the beginning of playing guitar is *so slow and frustrating!*
Finally, a lesson with the right balance of direction, demonstration and lack of repeating the same piece of info multiple times in succession.
Great job - covered all the bases and it feels achievable.
Get this dude to 1M subs ffs
But hes crap j k
Yas!

hey dude, i love your videos, a big virtual hug from Costa Rica!!!
Araya Hace eso mae! Another fan here!
Today is 3 years of this video! Congrats.
That background looks like the backdrops of my gradeschool pictures...
How to shred next plz!
This is also technically shred, but hell yeah, we want tremolo picking + string skipping next please!
This is actually the best sweep picking tutorial I've seen. Thankyou Steve
So glad your channel is back so I can practice to this video again!! 👍🤘
hey steve thanks so much for helping me learn this technique I really struggled but now i am sweep man
I learnt how to shred at full speed by listening to the Duncan Hills coffee jingle by dethklok
Thats a super fast song.

Hi Stevie, Thanks for this video! It was a huge help. I've been playing my sweeps wrong all these years. My Pattern was Up, Pull off, Up, Up, Down, Down. It'll take a little practice to get up to speed using the proper technique, but it feels so much better. Cheers!
you are such a great player! Love what you do.
1:46 This should be your thumbnail.....literally!
Why you gotta do him like that😂😂
thank you Stevie! your funny attitude towards this lesson is helping make guitar less frustrating ( bring the sweeps!). I've never wanted to advance much skill wise until now (i'm 25) keep doing what you love and rock on! much love from Ontario
0:37 "Put the money in the BAG!"
Only guitar tutorial that kept me hooked and made me actually want to learn and have fun learning.
Amei o título do Stevie em português: "VARREDURA"

Holy crap I just had a sweep picking break through. It actually had nothing to do with your video, but I happened to be watching your video while it happened... See my problem was in thinking that holding my pick with my middle finger and thumb (as I have literally ALWAYS done for 18 years of guitar playing) would have no bearing on sweeping, because it's still the same motions. Right? WRONG! I literally in five minutes (once I got comfortable enough holding the pick with my pointer finger, certainly not as easy as one might think) have broken through what I thought was a speed barrier in my left hand. Thanks-(ish) Stevie T. I think from now on I'll just have your videos playing in the background whenever I'm playing guitar so you impart your god-level mastery of the guitar to me completely subconsciously.
Marty Friedman just got so mad
Its me Why lol. I think someone told me he hated sweep picking, is that it?
Walamonga 1313 yeah every time the term sweep picking is mentioned around him he makes sure everybody knows he's not using it and in fact hates it
Yeah he said in an interview with Ben Weinman that he hates terms used for certain styles of playing and picking, and he doesn’t like his playing style to be labelled
i just learnt this in the 20 min i was listening....now my sweeping /thank you
2:48 i think thats the riff from "white wedding"🤣
Yes, but it's slower in the song
@@AcappEd yeah, but still
Yea lol
Thanks man. I'm from Holland and 60 years old. 😰🤪. I did Play a lot when i was younger, and all this Things were Secret. The Good guitarists want take this for fhemself. And there was no RUclips you can learn. And never to Old to learn 🤪. Thanks again man.
I watched this video months ago and I'm still going, this was the only method I could get into my head, thank you Stevie!
I legit learned to sweep pick because of this. Thanks StevieT. I remember instead of sweep picking I just alternated picked which didn’t sound too bad but not as smooth or fast as sweep picking.
More sweep pick and soloing tutorials plzzz!!
I just want the riffs. I don't need the tutorials :'D
Perhaps it was the dirty kitchen floor and your search on RUclips for sweeping techniques :oD
wow! I thought I was the only one who knows about this! I'm exposed :O D':
Richard Toth Watch Ben Eller's sweep picking videos. Then skip straight into the shapes/positions
I don't have any problem with the technique. I just found boring to always play the same major and minor arpeggios. And I just recently got to the level where I can add different notes to those sweet sweeps. So they are than not as boring as they used to be...
An excellent tutorial especially the muting part, it helped a lot, thank you!
Still waiting on that part 2!!!❤
Yeah me too haha
You never let me down, awesome and entertaining teacher. Oh and talented.
it's been a year 1/2, I still can't play this at less than half tempo
@J Slikbeer tapping this is easier than sweeping it, thats the most annoying thing
It's because u have to get comfortable with string hopping the g string
@@jtvito8535 what do you mean
@@rchqtn5675 You have to get comfortable with either doing 3 upstrokes, 2 downstrokes, or 2 upstrokes, 3 downstrokes for three string sweeps
Stevie T is actually good at keeping you on task with what he’s teaching.
Dam it, when you stood up, and changed camera angles and did the hip thrust, I spit my food out and almost choked, laughing so hard.
Been sweeping on and off for years. Always gotta kinda stumped with some techniques especially trying to learn Loomis tunes. I've learned more, faster, watching this video in a few hours than I have in YEARS (also with a more progressive, less lazy drive). Long story short, EXCELLENT tutorial man, thank you!
Nice little Smashing Pumpkins reference there @4:50
And guitar playing ability has just increased 100%. This is so awesome! Thanks Mr. T. Haha, see what I did there? I'd like to see more videos like this one, you're an amazing teacher. Now, am I going at full speed? That's a negative, ghost rider. But to now have the exercise memorized, I can continue to practice daily until I do have it at full speed. I watched this video from beginning to end until I had it down and could at least keep up with 25% speed, but that's better than I could do before today. Thank you so much, Steve. I realize I have been commenting on some older videos but I'm still hoping that you are reading these.
How foolish of Stevie to reveal the secret of his guitar prowess! I shall use this information to overcome and dethrone him and Jared to become the one true djentleman Bahahaha! Yessssss......
sweep picking is not djent

*I can't watch the video now, but of course, I will do it later.... I just wanted to say: congrats on the 950K subs!!* 😀

You are basically the Justin Y. of this channel.

De nada!! 😊😊
Damn this is kinda wholesome but I tried learning and I was about to give up so fast then I came to the comment section and saw allllll these comments of people saying "dont give up dont give up" and "it took me a while but I kept going and now I can do it" and all that stuff and now im determined. I wont quit and I'll come back to this video If I do end up picking up how to sweep pick
Have you¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿
This video is great
But in all honesty great and informative video! Quick question if you have the time: Who were your prominent influences?
RC32 he likes Dream Theater (John Petrucci) and Dragon Force (Herman Li)
Ahh really? Cool to hear! I love JP as well!
I've been watching more and more of stevie t's videos....Just found him recently during a late night youtube binge....Hes really and great guitar player and his videos are not bland and boring like most....He goofs off a bunch but still playing and producing good content.....I've been playing guitar 15 plus years now (im 30) an I'm not as versatile as stevie....I use these arpeggio patterns all the time though... Especially over chord progessions....(arpeggios always sound nice over the relative chords) What's really fun to me is to harmonize them by playing an inversion pattern either above or below...For instance play 19 pull off 14 on the high E string....then 15 on the B string and 16 on the G string....That'll harmonize great with the first pattern in this video....Idk why but I noticed hes saying it's a Gdim7. It's in Bmin so I believe it would be a C#dim7....which it's technically the same notes. C#, E, G, A#......Litterally the only difference is what you call it.....So the chord proggression goes.....Bmin, Amaj, C#dim7, Bmin, Emin, Bmin, F#maj, F#maj.....Sorry if I'm comming off as a stickler for theory....I just noticed and figured I'd mention it....
4:54 - Smashing Pumpkins
perfect teacher
You are the spongebob of guitarists

You should do more of these. you help keep me motivated, and explain this in A way I understand instead melting my brain
4:53 was this a smashing pumpkins reference?
Thanks dude, you give me the vibe to practise better !!
Holy shit Stevie T actually did guitar videos? Wow.
Stevie 'T'eaches?
it's fun to teach because you have a mix of games
This is so helpful man. I've been playing for 16 years (all self taught) and have just recently started trying to teach myself how to sweep pick which has been an adventure since most of my lead work I've ever done was blues based which only goes so far playing in drop A with my metal project I've started and arpeggios are something I never took the time to learn early on this has been one of the best exercises I've found...since most of them I find are 5 string sweeps which for the record suck balls to learn as a first attempt at sweeping😆
Those melodies are making me sweepy...
In all seriousness though, you are an awesome guitar player Stevie T! Practice makes perfect!
Time stamps for myself (or anyone else) lmao:
3:37: first two positions play through
@steviet you should do more like this, fo all those new viewers! I bet it'll help push you over 2M subscribers!
Stevie T chews his fingernails.
No shit Sherlock !!!

yes and it looks awful. Stop it, Steve
It wouldn't look as bad if it wasn't such a messy job.
he has no style.....living in his mom basement is stressful
I would pay serious money for this guy to be my teacher
Although I probably won't be learning much
You’d definitely learn how to make funny faces and go calalalalala though lol
Last time I watched this video I could not do it at all. Now a couple months later I can do most of the patterns in a couble minutes. PROGRESS!!!
