  • Funeral services for Charles L. Hatten, 89, of West Monroe, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Cornerstone Baptist Church. Pastor Huey Diffey will officiate and interment will follow at Hurricane Grove Cemetery in Sikes, Louisiana under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in West Monroe. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the church.
    Charles L. Hatten of West Monroe, Louisiana, went to be in the presence of his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on July 27, 2024. Charles was born on November 8, 1934, in Sikes, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne “Pistol” Hatten and Thelma Beavers Hatten; brothers, Glen Roy and Fay; and sister, Eunice Womack.
    Charles is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jean Forrest Hatten; son, Jerry Wayne Hatten and wife Jan, grandchildren, Audrea Hanson and husband Jason, Abigail Still and husband Justin, Anna Blankers and husband Craig; daughter, Sandy Arrant and husband Bobby, grandchildren, Brandon and wife Mandy, Matthew Arrant and wife Anna; great-grandchildren, Laura, Ethan, Luke and wife Kaitlyn, Bonnie, Destry, Beaux, Sawyer, Carsyn, Raelynn, Maggie, Elias, Brooks and Jacob; brother, Troy Hatten and wife Betty; many nieces and nephews; along with other cherished family and friends.
    Charles retired after 39 years with News Star World, as supervisor of the camera plate making department. He also served in the United States Army.
    Charles love for the Lord was reflected by his many years serving his church as deacon and teacher. Charles life is characterized by his love for Christ, and wanted this legacy to be passed on to his children, grandchildren, and to all those around him. Charles loved working the Land, playing the guitar, bluegrass music and baseball.
    Charles humor and Godly wisdom will be missed. We love you Paw Hatten.
    Pallbearers will be Brandon Arrant, Matthew Arrant, Justin Still, Craig Blankers, Luke Hanson and Ethan Hanson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenneth Womack, Jason Hanson and Heath Hatten.
