Seeing how remakes happen when the gen is double the number the original game came out, I think he'll have to wait a bit longer. (What I mean is gen 2 remakes came in gen 4, and gen 3 remakes came with gen 6. I assume the next pokemon game are gen 4 remakes so if I'm true that would mean gen 4 remakes came out in gen 8. So that means gen 5 remakes sadly won't come out until gen 10. Hopefully by then Gamefreak has their shit back together.)
He's not really even a villain. Just a scientist doing his job. No morals, no compassion...just straight up full dedication on his research, pursuing the best possible way to fufill it, testing Team Plasma's methods as well as the player's methods throughout the game.
That’s something I didn’t understand until like a year later, and honestly it makes colress one of the best antogonists, and then when he shows up in sun and moon it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.
He's so passionate about his job that I take this situation into consideration. If Kyurem just straight up killed Ghetsis, Colress would study the way it killed a human being rather than trying to stop it. He's almost insane in a way and I love him for that.

He would also work as some sorta strategist for Team Plasma, but I think he wants to keep himself out of the deals of Plasma for Unova domination and enslavement etc., because of hismorals.
Colress, the man who joined an evil Pokemon Team just so he could improve his own stuffs and basically didn't help them in the end and always knew this himself. Basically the description of a Lawful Neutral character. :3
It was like that across the whole franchise. Pokepark, Pokemon Rumble, even Pokemon Typing Adventure all embraced rock and techno music in the best way.
I think it's just cause it's weird, like I remember playing Pokemon Black the first time and I started to question "is this really a pokemon game?". That's my experience anyway, and I can't play it as a child since apparently we bought a pirated version and my Pokemon can't gain Exp so yeah.
My fav part of this song is 1:27 It becomes more upbeat and fun, almost like during the heat of the battle Colress is casting aside his analytical mindset and enjoying himself. Only to realise that and draw himself back into his research. It's such a small thing, but I really like it.
I think my favourite antagonists are N, Colress, Volo, Lusamine (specifically her Sun and Moon version, I didn't like her in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon) and Guzma. Including spin offs also gives us Miror B and Ardos/Eldes.
This one is so... _unique._ No other song in the series has the same kind of feel as this one, and it is perfect. In the midst of the dangerous, sprawling Plasma Frigate, you fight the begrudging scientist. He's not here for the cause, but the opportunity. And to prove his cause, he fights you with everything he's got. God, I love it.

He's trying to find out how the world works by seeing both aspects of things and ultimately, makes an educated decision. Maybe that's why his Pokemon are pretty slow.

His Pokemon aren't exactly every fast... Metagross... Beheeyem... Magneton (not mine though I trained the frack outta that thing 'cause I taught it Electro Ball and doggammit I was determined to make the most out of that piece of s***. No regrets, we totally killed it).
This is why Gen 5 and the BW games are my favorites in the series. The characters and Pokémon you meet, the music, the story, the side quests, everything is perfect in my eyes. I picked up my Black 2 copy again the other day after taking a break over the summer and realized I still had to do the post-game, and came across Colress’ post-game battle, and heard this theme for the first time in years. I don’t remember this theme whatsoever, and yet it’s very nostalgic. It made his battle very fun. I don’t care what people might say about Gen 5, it will always be my favorite and hold a special place in my heart.
It is explained in X and Y that a foreigner found a lucarionite and achieved the first ever mega evolution with his Lucario long before Colress was even born.
I love how both his spanish and english names relate to his role in the story and his personality. In a world ruled by the facing sides of ideals and truth (black and white), stands a man who serves non of them, a colorless individual. Or Colress you could say. In spanish his name is Acromo, which would mean non-chromatic, without color.
His French name is also Nickolaï, which sounds a bit like non-color. It's not as good sounding or obvious as it is in other languages, but the intend is still here and Nickolaï is a badass name.
Colress is one of my favorite Pokémon villains even though he’s not pure evil. His theme is super catchy and all of his Pokémon fit him so well. Robots, computer programs and intelligent Pokémon. Sounds a lot like a scientists team.

The most true neutral character in the entire franchise. This man is willing to freeze an entire region just so long as it will advance his research, and I honestly respect the hell out of him for it. Some people talk about how he's turned a new leaf and is a good guy now, but i feel like (with the exception of rainbow rocket ghetsis) he's still just doing what he thinks will best advance his research, his morals are still the same, and that's honestly respectable as hell

Black/White had my favorite villian and rival themes as well as the Rival Hugh and Colress himself. Too bad in the anime they make him sound... a bit more egotistical than he does in the games anime trailer. Still though, Colress and Hugh are cool : )

But aside from all this, I thought older pokemon games were really cool, cuz like for a while, all the throw animations were shown left handed for the player characters due to visuals. I think only Black and White started having right handed protags, because the spriting got so good
My friend gave me his White 2 cartridge and now I'm really glad he did that cause now I can listen to this theme in around 4 years when I get good enough for this gen.
Unova is still my favorite region. It's the only region that felt alive with all the crowds of people in castelia, the moving trains and cars on the bridges, and the gym leaders actually had other jobs and did something in the story!
I have no idea why, but I've grown a habit ever since I was young to call Colress "My man" (like I was his friend or something) Its still a thing I do to this very day, I know its dumb. But it ain't stopping anytime soon.
Honestly... I've been listening to some of the remixes of this theme and I've come to a conclusion that none of them beat the original. It's so unique that no one can make it better and the Black and White style music goes so well with it
He was actually my first experience with a neutral moral character. He really made me think “huh he’s not really a good guy, but not a bad guy either?”
How the fuck did it take me 8 years to realize Colress' name actually is a typo of the word 'colorless' which explains why his character is morally grey.
One of the few main antagonists that you never really felt angry with, or even a sense of hostility. He just wanted to see what made you and your Pokémon so strong, Ghetsis was just a means to his end.
Colress is probably my second favorite character in main series next to Lusamine. Idk, his cool aesthetic and chaotic neutral stance on the conflict is just really entertaining.
Same! I wish he kept that same energy in his later appearances. He feels more like a full-fledged good guy in SM and USUM. He even admits he’s always hated Ghetsis during the RR Episode, which is weird to me, because he still agreed to working with him during B2W2. He didn’t come off like he was forced to help lead Neo Plasma at all. Colress does backstab him at the end of B2W2 by switching sides and letting you progress, and Ghetsis gets pissed at him for it, but Colress only does it because he realizes after losing to you that Team Plasma’s cruel approach wasn’t the best way to bring out the latent power of Pokémon after all, and that your bonds with your team brought out more of it. Maybe he just sort of begrudgingly stuck with Team Plasma and their crazy plans because Ghetsis convinced him that his way was the best way, and wasn’t proven otherwise until you came along? Who knows. Seeing him yeet Ghetsis back to his own dimension in USUM was still a cool moment either way.
After so many years of listening to this it’s only just now hit me that the vocalizations at the start of the song are counting down from 5 and that’s cool as hell

To him, both Truth and Ideals are both important. He is open-minded to everything that curious him, good or evil. He is the true symbol of balance. A person like him would be perfect to bring back Kyurem to its complete form and also for knowing the idea of how Pokemon fusion works.
Between Hugh being a rival who's goal ISN'T "to become the Pokemon league champion." and Colress being an antagonist, despite not being a villain? It's the reason why B2W2 is probably the best entry in the series, at least from a story perspective.
I like to think that Colress's ultimate answer to the potential of Pokemon was their ties and relationship with trainers. As such, he gets bitter and eventually denounces Team Plasma due to their goal to liberate all Pokemon from their trainers. :D

I love how this theme has a very sci-fi feel to it. Fitting, giving that Colress is a scientist and uses mainly mechanical-like Pokemon.

This is why Gen 5 and the BW games are my favorites in the series. The characters and Pokémon you meet, the music, the story, the side quests, everything is perfect in my eyes. I picked up my Black 2 copy again the other day after taking a break over the summer and realized I still had to do the post-game, and came across Colress’ post-game battle, and heard this theme for the first time in years. I don’t remember this theme whatsoever, and yet it’s very nostalgic. It made his battle very fun. I don’t care what people might say about Gen 5, it will always be my favorite and hold a special place in my heart.

I love how both his spanish and english names relate to his role in the story and his personality. In a world ruled by the facing sides of ideals and truth (black and white), stands a man who serves non of them, a colorless individual. Or Colress you could say. In spanish his name is Acromo, which would mean non-chromatic, without color.
Even his Japanese name is romanized as "Achroma"
His French name is also Nickolaï, which sounds a bit like non-color. It's not as good sounding or obvious as it is in other languages, but the intend is still here and Nickolaï is a badass name.
Acromo and Achroma sounds way better, still one of my fav characters

Colress is one of my favorite Pokémon villains even though he’s not pure evil. His theme is super catchy and all of his Pokémon fit him so well. Robots, computer programs and intelligent Pokémon. Sounds a lot like a scientists team.
It’s also one of those teams you feel/know could be used outside of battles for his work

The most true neutral character in the entire franchise. This man is willing to freeze an entire region just so long as it will advance his research, and I honestly respect the hell out of him for it. Some people talk about how he's turned a new leaf and is a good guy now, but i feel like (with the exception of rainbow rocket ghetsis) he's still just doing what he thinks will best advance his research, his morals are still the same, and that's honestly respectable as hell

I like Colress's character and his battle theme.I guess it will always have a 'special something' to battle him in Gen 5 with this exact battle theme.What's more,he likes all those Steel Pokemon,like me! Not to mention his 'quest to bring out the true power of Pokemon'....
Black/White had my favorite villian and rival themes as well as the Rival Hugh and Colress himself. Too bad in the anime they make him sound... a bit more egotistical than he does in the games anime trailer. Still though, Colress and Hugh are cool : )

But aside from all this, I thought older pokemon games were really cool, cuz like for a while, all the throw animations were shown left handed for the player characters due to visuals. I think only Black and White started having right handed protags, because the spriting got so good

Loved Generations 5 the most. Mostly because Unova region is based off New York City (my home) and also because Colress was a good villain.
Unova is still my favorite region. It's the only region that felt alive with all the crowds of people in castelia, the moving trains and cars on the bridges, and the gym leaders actually had other jobs and did something in the story!

Colress is probably my second favorite character in main series next to Lusamine. Idk, his cool aesthetic and chaotic neutral stance on the conflict is just really entertaining.
Same! I wish he kept that same energy in his later appearances. He feels more like a full-fledged good guy in SM and USUM.
He even admits he’s always hated Ghetsis during the RR Episode, which is weird to me, because he still agreed to working with him during B2W2. He didn’t come off like he was forced to help lead Neo Plasma at all.
Colress does backstab him at the end of B2W2 by switching sides and letting you progress, and Ghetsis gets pissed at him for it, but Colress only does it because he realizes after losing to you that Team Plasma’s cruel approach wasn’t the best way to bring out the latent power of Pokémon after all, and that your bonds with your team brought out more of it.
Maybe he just sort of begrudgingly stuck with Team Plasma and their crazy plans because Ghetsis convinced him that his way was the best way, and wasn’t proven otherwise until you came along? Who knows.
Seeing him yeet Ghetsis back to his own dimension in USUM was still a cool moment either way.

Between Hugh being a rival who's goal ISN'T "to become the Pokemon league champion." and Colress being an antagonist, despite not being a villain? It's the reason why B2W2 is probably the best entry in the series, at least from a story perspective.
