  • A private tour of the HRE Wheels factory in Vista, California. This 20-minute walkthrough shows the entire process as shown to me by my friend Antonio who works for HRE.
    This 60,000 square foot facility is run 6 days a week to keep up with demand and this video shows a glimpse into each part of the process. Milling, prepping, brushing by hand, quality control, assembly of 3-piece wheels, powder coating, cleaning and repair.
    The HRE Wheels factory is also home to Akrapovic exhaust products in the USA so some of that inventory is shown as well. If you have any questions, leave a comment down below or DM me on Instagram @ACarPhotographer.

    Excellent presentation on this guiled tour of the HRE plant. Yes, he may have not said the correct terminology for each process or pronounce a equipment. But the guy did a great job to explain what goes on at HRE, well done and thank you, from a guy in the UK

    I wish.
    I would do almost anything to get some P101's on my STi. Not lowered, extremely clean hatchback. HRE wheels and Tredwear Letter (Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, already mounted) would be polished clean!

    Great wheels and thanks for the opportunity to get a look inside the plant. Unfortunately I had to fast forward through most of it. Antonio needs to do a better job with the delivery of his review/tour. Hard to listen too, uh, uh, uuuhhhh. Please get your thoughts organized before doing another one of these.

      +brianz426 thank you for watching! Glad you enjoyed the glimpse. This video actually wasn’t planned, I stopped by to say Hi to Antonio since I was in the area and he offered me a tour. I asked if I could film to share with others and he said yes. Pretty much put him on the spot

    Def top quality wheels for sure but japan wheels like Volks advan or BBS made in Japan forged wheels I’m sure quality is the same but really you’re paying extra for the HRE name.

    Nice equipment, but this guy doesn't even know the proper terminology. He pronounced lathes, "lath's"....the tumblers use ..uh..uh stones, yeah.. that's a good word.
    Practice, practice, memorize and rehearsal!! Use our cards or something.
    Very difficult to watch more than a few minutes.

    Flow form wheels aren’t really hre then. Just Japanese cast wheels with an expensive price tag. Disappointing.

      Kevin Keelan what’d you expect ?

    • @rotor13

      Flow Form is a manufacturing process. HRE is not the only wheel manufacturer that obtains flow from wheels from the foundry in Japan. BBS and even CCW have their own line of flow form wheels. If you paid attention, nothing that HRE makes, starts off at an HRE foundry. They obtain the raw materials from a distributor or the foundry itself.
      With HRE - the expense comes from development, machining, and finishing. Its also not common for a company to offer custom sizing options, like HRE does. When you look at an HRE wheel up close, like say at a car show. You'll find out where your money goes. In the last 20 years I've been modifying cars, I've spent over $200k in wheels. Most of them being with HRE's. Once I figured out the level of detail they put into their wheels, i've never gone back. And.... they hold their value.

  • @Koi-Koi-Koi
    @Koi-Koi-Koi 5 лет назад +2

    too expensive sorry me any many other will never pay >2000€ to 2500€
    for 1 wheel.. sorry no... even they are good looking.. make the price
    better , decrease costs in manufaturing and sell more wheels @HRE

    • @shouldigetit
      @shouldigetit  5 лет назад +4

      Price reflects supply and demand, and the high cost helps maintain some exclusivity which makes them "special" and a goal for many car owners.

    • @Koi-Koi-Koi
      @Koi-Koi-Koi 5 лет назад

      But it is a legend that these wheels are much better than other cheaper
      wheels on market,
      but i agree they want to be exclusivly, okay.. so
      what.. the people will buy from other companies and HRE can say "yes
      we are exclusivly... and sell less a year than others".. many
      companies who wanted to be exclusivly changed their politics..and offer
      products for the mainstream market and increased income

    • @rotor13
      @rotor13 4 года назад

      @@Koi-Koi-Koi And with that means, a lower quality wheel, with very little options in colors and offset to fit your specific car. The kind of person who buys a wheel for their Hyundai, aren't going to be able to ever afford an HRE wheel. They're going to buy whatever TireRack or PepBoys has on their sizing chart for the car and then look at their inventory to see what matches up. You're still going to spend about $1000 with tires. Lets also not forget to mention that because mass produced wheels are manufactured with a generic sizing to each vehicle, you're likely going to be required to use wheel spacers - another indicator that your wheel selection is not great.
      Think of wheels as your cars as part of an ensemble, like a tailored suit - where the wheels are the cuff-links, pocket square, tie and shoes. When you want your car to look good, and stand out, you're going to want something unique and something that fits just right. When you see a car rolling up to the car show with a premium wheel like HRE, you'll instantly know its a special wheel.
      Am I going to put a set of HRE's on my Camry? No. But I'm also not going to put a set of wheels i can buy from PepBoys or TireRack onto my Camaro ZL1 or my Mercedes SUV.
