    My uncle Tony Phan, would take me here when I was younger, he taught me how to fish. He passed away a couple weeks ago. This place brings me back great memories. Thank you for that and for your service. Greatly appreciated.

    We always set our bait bucket inside a 5 gal bucket full of water for transport. Mud minnows work too. Nice rod

    Dude! We have a lot in common! I now live near Galveston and fish the area. Also I too crewed Helos! H-60 for 20 years! Worked alot with USMC shitters!

      Yes it is! A lot of our sayings just aren’t understood 😂. Like “preflight” or “pull chocks” my friends are like “what?” 😂

    Looks like a nice rod. Love the raw blanks. Looks like an NFC blank from the sanding/shine. Old 18 makes some great stuff.
    Braid scissors work, but I got the danco lunar nippers. Come on a lanyard. Love em.

    Would like to do some saltwater fishing but being 4 hours north it's kind of hard to get down that way. Great video and thank you for your service! Being 70 I don't venture out by myself much! Love to wade fish though!

    Back in the day our family would fish the bea c h side of the Jetty with just dead shrimp during high tide. We would catch Golden Croakers, speckle and Sand trout , Reds and Flounders too.

    Great video, Mark! Thank you so much for your service to our nation! Just a side note, I've seen a side holster that can be worn to holster your rod while wading or even shore fishing, so you can free up your hands and have more freedom of movement, just an idea. Take care and be safe!

    I bring along a five gallon bucket for my active flo-trolls to transport live bait. I dunk the flo-troll inside the 5 gallon bucket to oxygenate the bait.

    i was out at the ferry and seawolf by boat today. we caught alot of tator flounders today, it was better then nothing though wished there was a keeper

    Those rapala mini lip grippers have some milage on them. I cant think of a video I havent seen them in. Texas videos at least.

As well you retired - it was a nice duty station - my second week after having arrived I got deployed to Oki - four months later my whole unit got deployed to Kuwait - I was stuck in Oki for 10 months - never made it to Kuwait - now that I’m fishing here I always ask my self - why I didn’t fish in HI. 😂
