Can you imagine how clean our fishing spots would be if everyone would pick up just a small area where you fish like Mark did
Leave with more than what you came with is what I try and do
Always bring a trash bag and when the mess is cleaned up people are more likely to carry their trash out to. People blame the trash on fisherman but those aren't fishermen that leave the trash those are slobs😤😤🤬
Abandon Fishing lines is the most deadly cost of wild life.
Wow big fish my friend new friend watching from cebu Philippines God bless
Thank you buddy.
As always marine ,I'm living vicariously thru you.
Hay Marine 😃 Enjoyed meeting you at the fishing show. This old man hopes you can enjoy the popping cork and the “What I Think is a DOD Vacation Spot” in Seward Alaska. The enjoyment of wetting a line transitions most all that us humans strive for. There isn’t anything like the fight and release of your foe. This old NAVY brat salutes you sir. Be Blessed
Thanks 🙌
Well done, my friend, fishing with crab bait,
Thank you for sharing your experience,
Your enthusiasm for fishing mania is great...👍💪

WOW, Mark, those were two huge black drum that no doubt made for a wonderful day at the Texas City Dike! Take care and be safe.
Thanks Christine, it was worth the wait!
Wow... The fishing spot on the edge is really good, my friend, you can pull it twice with the same type of fish and it's big in size. Great 🤝🎣🐟❤

👍
Wow, that's a lot of work, but it's so satisfying. Good photography to, especially in the evening with that water cruising the rocks😊
Thank you!
I just came across your video, Mark. Thank you for sharing. I'll be looking for the final version of the rod you featured. Great pair of drum.
I can't wait for y'all to try these rods out!
Texas city dike use to be free to fish back in the 80's, 90's and now they are chargeing us to go fishing it suck now I will never go there again. All my childhood of fishing gone. Thank you for the memories.
Awesome video Mark 🔥🔥🔥
Appreciate it!
Outstanding way to end the day with those 2 BIG ol' Black Drum !!

Love watching your videos I saw you at the fishing show 😊
Thanks for coming!
Hey Mark those were two big nice whompers and the black drum too
Thanks
Great catches brother
Thanks brother 🤙
I like how you always have people magically appear to help you land the fish. Gotta love good samaritans.
P.S. I still hate the TCD.
😂 bro, it's so much fun!
Nice job bro 👏🏾
Thanks 🤙
Giants man, Nice!!!!!
Thanks
Hey Mark ! the water temp down here is about 60 in the bay , the trout will be coming in soon .
I really need to step up my trout game. I know nothing about them.
@@MDLRFishing The TPWD tagged some in the late 70s and in the winter they would go to the oil wells in the bay and stay there until the water warmed up .
Awesome thanks for letting us share your time on the water,, where is this place at that you can drive up to it,
Patience pays!!!!
👍
Got some nice shots of a few nice "black drums" lmao
🤙
awesome!!!!
Thanks David!
Awesome catch DelaRosa , BTW where's the mini pit so you could have made some jalapeño poppers and a steak while you wait ? Cmon marine you have to make chow.
That's a great idea 👍
Good things come to those who wait🎣
🙌
Me gusta el vídeo un tremendo ejemplo de lo que ay que hacer en todos lados
Mark I have a question for you since you are fishing for drum. Have you tried a bait feeder reel? I feel it would make it easier for you. The reel have an alarm so you hear the fish pulling.
I haven't
What a Day!!!!!
Are you sure you shouldn't have vented that big boy? I know it swam away initially, but are you sure that it didn't float up further out in the middle of the bay? Suffered? Just asking...
Thank you sir for picking up the trash!!! 😢
You bet
Thank you for taking the extra step and caring for the environment…….
No worries 🤙
A good test for hook sharpness is to run the point on a fingernail. If it catches and scratches, you know it's sharp.
🤙
What a workout, drum roll please for MDLR the star fisherman of Texas City Dike, (get it "drum" roll, lol)
🤙
Great job. North Fork Composite (NFC, Gary Loomis's company) makes excellent blanks. Christians rod is built on an NFC SJ703 C6O2 blank. Ive now switched to Texas made blanks though.
From a builders perspective, Old 18 is awesome. Theyve been using USA made blanks and good components long before other companies started finally using USA blanks. Old 18 also has the best pricing for the quality of their builds.
They're some darn good blanks. Thanks for watching brother.
Thats a cool catch
Thank you
What lbs test line you use
68 on my 4000 and 71 on the 10,000.
What size weights are you using?
4 oz for my small setup and 6 for my big.
One thing I’ve never figured out…? Why do people on land cast as far away from land as possible. People in boats usually cast toward banks…
My experience overall is that fish like structure like people like cities. Wouldn’t it be more profitable to fish closer to the rocks rather than on a smooth bottom? Just wondering?
In this video there’s a channel far off in the distance that you can’t see. That channel is the super highway for the black drum we’re targeting. When them fish come to the rocks for something to eat, they’ll likely pick up the first bait they come across. Also, casting right into or next to the rocks will likely cause you to lose your rig.
Makes sense , thanks and good luck. Like your posts.
Marine, what is your two setup surf rods on that day?
and where can I buy the rod holder that you use.
thank you.
The setups are in my video description. The rod holders are DIY.
thank you
I need a day off to get out there and put that’s Shimano Zaragosa to work
🤙
First hit of the day and it did not take long 5.5 hours later 😂
😂😂😂
What rod and reel setup is that?
Old 18 Outfitters surf rod with a Shimano 10,000 reel.
Where are you fishing 🎣 at boss
Texas City Dike
where is this at?
Tx city
nice fishing....@@MDLRFishing
Amazing
Thanks
I clean up like that every time I go out there too, sucks people can’t respect places like that even when there are trash cans like every 50yards 😒
Nice catch though.
Thanks!
I normally move to a new spot if I don’t get a bite within 20 minutes..
Long wait for longer fish.
👍
Those fish don't get ate?
Only the smaller ones.
Haha I still police call my areas
😂👍
V nice❤
👍
It could be the same fish he caught earlier
🤫
While you did good to get them back out there. Ya know I'm just one of those people that looks at the area I'm fishing , what's in the way or makes it difficult to bring in what I'm fishing for , and if its not easy to get the catch and return it , I simply just find a different place. I just never want to be the last thing and old fish like that sees. Not that fish have emotional feelings but it would just bother me , if I could not harvest it.
With the water being so low it was a challenge.
Big booty Judy was looking good!
I changed my mind. Hire this sister instead of Christian (that is if you have only one position)
😂
Pls tell me you visited the ice cream truck
Drums r nasty!
Just just the big ones.
Awesome BIG UGLIEZZZZZZZ
🤙thanks
The only thing that's more fun than catching a huge black drum, is when it's on 20lb braid like the 45"er I caught a few weeks ago at Packery.
Nice 👍
Were are you fishing here sir???and why didn't u keep that black drum?? And what's the best fish to make ceviche?? Thank you sir!!
Black drum wasn’t legal to keep, it was oversized. Also, big black drum are usually infested with worms.
If you’re going to use one of the commonly caught fish for ceviche, I’d recommend flounder.
