When I was about 12 years old my dad and I were helping a neighbor do some haying. I got to drive his JD 60. It was then I fell in love with that model. Great memories!!!
My uncle had one, really liked that tractor. Kind of looking at one for myself to replace my ‘51 B. It would have power steering, live hydraulics, and live PTO
All 1956 models 50, 60, 70 John Deere tractors came with power steering. In 1955 and older Power steering was an option. But it always stander equipment on all JD 70 & 80 diesels.
That 60 has been well taken care of. Sounds good! It would sound real good, pulling a 3-bottom plow in 3rd gear. I'd get the rear wheels sanded, and painted and maybe give the rest of the tractor a new coat of John Deere green, and it'd look sharp! I'd like to have a Model 60 someday, once I'm more financially stable and things settle down maybe. My dad's got a 1952 late Model A John Deere, hasn't ran in over a year, but it runs just as good. Make more vids with your 60, if you can.
Yea man I saw you rakin some hay! Pretty nice machines, I wish I had kept that one, it was a perfect candidate for a minor restoration. Would have made a good puller at our show too! You still have your 60? Where was that vid taken of raking the hay?
No it was sold many years ago, I made this video for a guy that was interested. He bought it lol. When I got it I traded a Farmall F-12 with a cultivator set for it. I liked the Farmall much better.
I absolutely loved driving this tractor as a farm kid. It was the smoothest tractor, so easy to drive.

I remember my grandfather had a 60 when he owned his farm but it was stored in the shed and didn’t run.

Nice 60 you got there. Get a cover on that belt pulley/clutch assembly!
Thanks! That 60 went down the road a long time ago.
Looks good man, I'd get the rest of the 3 pt parts and give the old girl some light work now and then.
Thank you, we have a good time out there playing around!
What would you use it for.
You had a 60? Didn't know that. Did you see the vids of mine?
