So many critics and “experts” bucking up and trying to tear down Sifu Austins sil lim Tao, (in a simplified form)…..Sifu Austin KNOWS that it is simplified!!! Sifu Austin Goh Honor and Power to you thank you for the tutorial I am studying Wing Chun, i've noticed in my studies there are many forms so I have read many comments saying it's wrong, in my opinion everyone who has studied it will always look different but it is all effective if you practice everyday it is a brotherhood. Is there anyway I can learn more from you as far as videos or books thanks for your time...
Just follow the video you be fine its was passed down from Yip Man to my Sifu Lee Shing his private student then to me in 1973 just keep practising it you be fine.
That’s a big negative. We pass wing chun on the right way not changed by our own ideas. While on the surface this may look okay, in its essence it’s wrong. There are a myriad of elementary level mistakes being done.
From what I’ve gathered there are many various styles of wing chun. Each school has a slightly different version of 小念头 寻桥 标指 You may notice that some versions are missing things the one you learned has, but you may also notice that it has other things added that your version doesn’t have.
there should be no stress in knees or anckles, if there is, you're doing it wrong. u need to stretch sacrum very slowly over some years to get it to open fully... personly i do not like sifu austin goh's stance, need to stretch psoas muscles and open sacrum, the lower spine structure should be 'staight up and down';; this means, the body should be inline with thighs, and knees above toes, and anckles NOT twisted. both legs represent the rear leg of chum kiu structures,.. the inner thighs should slightly pull in, like horse stance. it takes a long time to stretch the sacrum, alot of 'standing practice' and other yoga. after about 4 years, you should be able to stand like this without hurt for 40 mins+ with no pain in any joints! after this, move to doing practice on one foot, then again, other foot... train the weaker side more and first... always keep knee in line and natural orientation, its the hip/sacrum that opens/rotates to facilitate this.
Question: I find my stance frees and feels more "weightless" when I am balanced in the middle of my feet, but "pushing" slightly outward on the outside of the feet [more intent-wise than by muscle]. So, weight not center on the arches, but on the outside ridge of the foot [though foot is still planted, not tilting]. My spine begins to feel more like a pole and less effort to pivot center. Is this incorrect and should I fix it? Thank you.
