hey, I have a HP EliteBook 840 G1 with no small icon. Does that meant that there is absolutely no chance of it having a backlit keyboard? Very informative video by the way, thank you!
Sometimes they put the Keyboard Illumination button on a different Function key, so please look for it on other ones from F1 to F12

U can ask HP but if the option is to seen in bios than ur unlucky like me!
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 i wasnt planning to do so yet ,the option was found in bios for blacklist light, however the keyboard Ive tested and the letter a,s,d dont do anything,am gonna run live linux iso to see if it does anything if not than i need new keyboard, its bad timing i really need it, the extra added keyboard is insufficient!

Yes it does and you can get new illuminated keyboards through eBay, and watch my keyboard installation video to learn how to replace it.

Hi, yes but only if the Laptop has an illuminated keyboard, not all of the elite book i7 came with light-up keyboards.

Sorry some HP models didn't come with illuminated Keyboard, so there is nothing you can do but to replace the keyboard.

Hi, Yes the Elite Book 8560W also has the option of adding an illuminated Keyboard to it. Some of them even come with it from factory.

It depends on the type of keyboard that is installed in the laptop. Some of them do have the illuminated keyboard and some don't.

Yes you can, but I recommend using a completely separate hard drive because dual boot on the same drive gave me problems.

Is there a way to keep them on?
On some models there is a Keyboard LED timer ON/OFF option in the Bios where you can choose to keep it always ON. However my EliteBook 8770W doesn't have that option. So the keyboard only illuminates when you press a button and stays ON for a few seconds and dims out again. This is to conserve battery power.

Not all of the keyboards that came with the elitebook 8560p has the illumination option. So most likely if you don't see that icon on the keyboard it is not supported. Also in some models the option can be enabled or disabled from the bios.

@@alirezaghost1376 Yes the problem is that the physical design is very weak. The hinges are know to break, and the mother board is known to develop problems. I had a friend who started seeing white lines on his screen after 5 months of use. Yes the Zbook 17 G1 is a newer and faster Laptop, but it is not the same quality as the previous versions, it is cheaply made to save cost.

It's OK you can always buy the keyboard separately, you don't have to buy another laptop.

Not work
On some models the keyboard illumination feature can be disabled from the bios, so check to see if that is not the case on yours.
