Yeah I have had my pint a month now. I’m already getting annoyed with range and wish I had gotten the XR. I actually only get like 5 miles on trails which is nothing. Not sure if I should get the fast charger or try to mod it , but I do not want to void warranty and deal with the headache of opening the board up. Kind of regret purchasing because now I have to find a way to get the xr and I have already wasted money on accessories for pint, but then again I was not sure I would take to the OW like I have.
The Solution for Pint is Getting JW Batteries. It will give you 12 to 15 Miles/Range. That Mod for Onewheel Pint are very easy. I didn't really like the "Fender Battery SetUp" because it look more Complicated to do and you have to Tap on your Sensor Pad and Have a Battery and Wires exposed ( I'm worry if I Bailed and Crash or when Start Raining) I also installed a "Landsurf Fangs" to make sure a Catch my Self and lift my self up when I NoseDive. (Only for Flat Pavement) I also stayed on Pint Because I loved the "Simple Stop". I tried the XR because 1 of my freind has them, and I Feel Panic on XR when I have to lift my heel when I want to Stop.
You can always tell it's old footage if Jimmy is riding a onewheel. He's all EUC these days. Love the video! Hawaii is beautiful! I just got my Pint two days ago and can't stop riding!
I love the size of the pint over the XR and after upgrading the battery (Dewalt flexvolt 9Ah), the range is not an issue at least for the amount of riding i do. Looks super fun to ride in Hawaii!
Oh man, thanks for this video. I was stationed there for 4 years and know the city pretty well. Brings back memories. Watching all these videos to encourage myself to drop $2K on a XR.
That’s awesome! Great vid as usual. Not a ton of people riding where I live in Lahaina but I see a new one every few weeks. Growing in popularity on Maui a bit and hoping to get some group rides soon.
Would love to visit Taiwan one day and when I do, I'll be watching your videos for info! My sister lived there for a few years and got us all shirts. Thanks for watching!
"The Pint is fun, but it will leave you wanting more. With the smaller battery on the Pint, you'll be riding less and charging more often." Solid summary there, Jimmy! So glad I upgraded from the Pint to the XR!
I bought 2 pints for my kids. My youngest has no interest so I've been riding with my 16 year old. We've had them about 6 weeks and range has not been an issue. We cruise around for about an hour or 2. Street, grass, some trails and plenty of hills. It has been a blast and so far we haven't wanted more range. We don't have endless hours to ride anywhere. Nice video.
Love the videos keep up the good work. New Pint wheeler, no experience but got around the block a couple times after a few short tries in the driveway. I will say the ancles and legs get a good workout. I stop every now and then to give them a short break. But I'll be "Pinting" around town soon enough. I'll keep watching the vids. Stay safe!
Awesome group ride Jimmy! Looking at all these Onewheel riders in Honolulu I feel very lonely as an E.U.C rider on Maui. I haven't even seen one rider here. Personally I find E.U.Cs more practical due to their superior range, speed and power.
Man, they KILL in the custom looks department! And straight from A shop-no raggedy do it yourself jobs... I'm digging the colors😍 Can it operate while being charged? Like maybe, have it attached to a large battery pack charger in your backpack while riding..?🤔 There's so much space on top of the fender. I'd think an external battery would be a cinch...🤷🏾♂
I love honolulu, me and wife wife are from Michigan would visit every year until we had kids. Hoping we can start going again when covid isn't as big of a issue. Would love to float downtown and Waikiki! I love my pint, ya I could use a little more range but compared to my buddy's xr I love how nimble it is and how I can turn on a dime, not to mention I don't think I could justify $1800 for a xr but thats just me.
Hi Jimmy, that was a great idea about towing your daughter for the regen.. I also like how that one rider gave a ride on her Onewheel to help out; I've never seen that done before.
Just started watching your vids and enjoying your content. On this one, you mention your daughter's t-shirt designs and I checked out website, very cool. I did notice you are advertising the "The Way This Is" Star Wars shirt, but didnt see it an actual store. Is this still available for purchase? Im interested in it.
As someone who has 400 miles on the pint I relate to this video. The pints range sucks. if you want to go on trail rides and bike paths and go the distance the pint is going to hold you back. I think it was a great board for new riders to learn on but after that as you said I just want more. I've been debating on getting an XR and selling the pint if the pint gets less use( might still ride it if I need tostay closer around an area since compared to the xr it is definitely more curvy ) or maybe I do the chi battery upgrade? I just don't know yet at this point I agree sometimes on my pint I feel like the push back is to strong other times I don't hit it to notice. Thier both good boards but that range will either be upgraded come spring or the XR will be on its way.
Just got my XR. Loving it. Still learning. I’m finding carving to be more difficult than expected (I’m a snowboarder). I hear changing my tire could help in that, but I don’t want to throw away my new Vega tire. I guess grass is always greener on the other side. I was wondering if I should have gone with the pint. But that only last a second. I like the wider stance, longer range of the XR. Waiting for my flight fins to get here (hoping that would help). Wondering if you have plans to review them. (Used to having my feet locked in). I was never a skateboarder.
In all fairness Jimmy, the Pint can cheaply be VnR'd for more range. I'm 220 and a 5ah gives me 20+. Your daughter is all of 60 lbs so a stock Pint will easily get her 14+. I totally agree about PB, it is annoying. I wanted more speed so I got Sonny's Sliders and do drags to hit 20-25mph. Also, your daughter's shirts are cute.
PULLING FOR REGEN!!!!!! I didn't think of that on. My wife has Segway scooter and I have a pint and my pint can in no way keep up with the range, but maybe it can now.
Is it normal to get 10 miles using only 50% of my battery and 16-20 miles on 100% on my og pint? Or do I have some crazy pint lol I live in a hilly area so there’s a lot of uphills but also a lot of down hill. I am considering a onewheel xr but i’m not sure if i want to spend that much. Would it be worth it for me? Btw i’m 100 pounds and 14yo so this could be a help to the range ..
I've got 110 miles on my Pint now, and while I do love it, you're right. I am left wanting more. I really want the XR but I can't justify giving future motion any more money. Both Onewheels are overpriced and they haven't innovated enough for me.
I will never understand the CONSTANT low-key bitching about the as-advertised limits of the Pint. Want to go pointlessly/dangerously fast? Spend $2000 on an XR. Want to ride roughly twice as long/far? Spend $2000 on an XR. Understand basic English and the rationale behind if you spend half the money you're bound to get half the product? Get a Pint. Know what you need from the board and buy accordingly. That's what I did. Turns out the Pint is perfect for me.

The Pint is definitely easier entry into the Onewheel hobby but it is much easier to outgrow too.
@@freshlycharged very true. I didn’t think I would outgrow it so quickly 100 miles in though.
You're not alone believe me, I traded mine in after 3 weeks for an XR

@@mikeintampa250 the XR also has the same motor power, I’m afraid to drop the money on an XR and watch OW release a newer and more powerful OW.
"Why walk when you can roll" I like that!

Congrats!

Just got my Pint a couple weeks ago, and got rail guards and a kush nug at Bike Factory last week!
Amazing video I just got a pint for the second time I love this thing way safer than the xr in my opinion
I got my used XR, and I'm learning slowly so that I can get comfortable get better with having fun
My board carrying yoga strap also doubles as a tow rope occasionally.
Love the yoga strap hack!
Bro, come back soon to Oahu. I got a Onewheel from the Bike Factory and been watching your vids on how to ride. Much mahalos!

Do you recommend the battery upgrade for the ping?
Honestly, why is the 'made in your garage' look a bad thing? If it were to look janky I'd understand, but the XR looks pretty well put together to me.
Is it a good moment to buy the XR? Do you think that it would be wise to wait? Is there another version coming?
I have no idea when they are going to update the XR.
Was your daghters pint fully charged?

The pint would be great for 750 with a built in fender but for pint money you would have a better time on a ninebot Max g2
