Fun side-scrolling brawler with a distinctive art style from Konami. This game features more fighting moves, interactivity and fine detail than many of its contemporaries, and it also has a really cool soundtrack.

I love how crisp the punch and kick sounds are. You can really feel the impact every time an enemy attacks you, or when you attack an enemy.
Oh the quarters I spent on this game back in my childhood. OH THE QUARTERS AND QUARTERS!!!!!
That initial theme song and the punching sound effects have been in my brain for a long time.
Yeah, this & Double Dragon, hella punch sounds.
The most happy Christmas for to me in 1989 year and I always will remember my full day playing and eating lunch and dinner with tokens and more tokens for see the endings. The most beautifuls moments of innocence and dreams looking the arcades screens. A theasure for remember all my life. Thanks so much for upload
Thanks for another awesome long-play AL! Crime Fighters was the beginning of the trilogy and precursor to Vendetta and Violent Storm.
Vendetta is named Crime Fighters 2 in Japan indeed.
Awesome find. I spent a fair amount of time in arcades around the time this was released and never heard of it. I wonder how much crossover in staff their was with TMNT? The mechanics with interactive environments (falling billboards, doors opening that can harm the player) feel similar.
Was bloody hard as nails when it was in the arcades. Excellent playthrough.
Remember the insane amount of quarters you had to keep feeding it? You'd go through seven dollars in ten minutes!
@@TheCoolProfessor was 10p's when I was a kid (UK), but yeah, this used to guzzle the coins in.
those sprites are absurdly small. You could park a truck sideways across those sidewalks they are so huge.
A bit like _Renegade_ in the vibes I'm getting. Look at all those animations! Nice job on the Boss Rush, too!
In the last stage of _Vendetta_ (Crime Fighters 2), there are falling neon signs that resemble the title graphics from this game!
Interesting design and unique end game stage. Never knew arcades had these gems in 89.
In 89 the arcades were full of these. These were the first person shooters of their day and everyone was trying to get a piece of the pie. Final Fight, Streets of Rage, Double Dragon, TMNT, NARC etc.
I always remembered crapping my pants at the start of the all-boss stage, very tuff.
The scene at 8:20 is soooo cool! Genious idea and execution. LOL!
KEEP MY WIFE'S NAME OUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH
This is a pretty badass game. The music and sound effects are fantastic and the gameplay is really fun. I don't know why Konami made the hero and the ai really small though.
The fact they made the characters so small is kind of odd when you consider practically every other game in the genre focused on big n' bold, but it IS distinctive!
Remember that this was originally a 4 player game
Nice. I used to play this at Round Table Pizza in the early 90s
I remember playing this game with my father when I was a child, I was looking for the name of this game for a long time, thank you for bringing back good memories of my childhood
5 seconds in and the train braking sounds like tires
ohh man totally forgot about this one. They had it in my local bowling alley in the late 80's/early 90's. The art on the cabinet was funny.
Oh yes, my favourite childhood game: Punk-beating Simulator 1989
i love the music in this game!
Oh yeah 1989 Konami had some great beat em games, I remember I 1st played this back in 89 I turned 7 and I was horrible couldn't defeat the easiest punk with the pipe.
I remember playing this in the arcade during a school trip where some of us could play video games instead of whatever it was -- we were all thrilled to beat it, but then gave up with "The Bosses Strike Back" 😅
To live in a world where kicks hit harder than bullets
Love the extra bit of wind up to the spite animations, gives the hits more of a visual impact
I prefer its sequel, Crime Fighters 2, better known as Vendetta in the US. I love the 4 player coop which was still rare for its time, bigger sprites comparable to Final Fight, the fact that you can slam goons against the wall, beat them down while they were lying on the ground, and the fact that the guy in the red shirt seemed to be the inspiration for Adam in SoR4.
Wow, I totally forgot this game existed. I haven't seen it since the early 90s. I played it a fair bit in the arcade.
Holy shit is he using a BB gun or can these guys take a shot? Literally!!
2:27 Good attention to detail : you can’t him that dude while the train is moving
Excellent playing!
Vendetta, or Crimefighters 2 outside the US, is a much better game all around. Better hit detection and bigger sprites come to mind. Although, I like the aesthetics and music of the first game better, Venndetta has a lot going for it as a superior sequel.
Never heard of this one, which is a shame because it looks super amusing with its clever gameplay and art ideas. If you were a kid in 1989- early 90s who loved action movies, I am sure this game would have been really amazing fun.
Awesome soundtrack
My dad once told me
If you shoot a guy till the gun is empty and he doesn’t fall…throw the gun at him and run
This game looks so good
I’ve always loved the fighting animations. Every hit looks painful and brutal. This is definitely the same team that worked on blades of steel…
I had to pause it because that slam had me going. I felt that slam in my eyes. 😆😅 1:27
Dope shit
27:56 I wish _Final Fight & Steeets Of Rage_ did this at the end of the game too.
27:51 imagine this with simpsons arcade game
Sounds like a nightmare.
Recycled boss rush are a annoying way to end a game. Especially if your character stats ended up worse than what they were from when you started the game.
One boss looking like Freddie 😂
I loved this game in my childhood, and now days too, but so much people say is rubish and I am very confused
we need a openbor remake !!!
I take off my hat on you! 🎮📺🔌
This is the superior Japan version with three buttons and a different health system. The American version gives you a flat amount of points per credit and a recharge between levels. Why they did this is a mystery, maybe they thought it was too easy? Yeah...milking quarters.
8:22 LMAO
Liked the attract sequence but the sprite work for the player character could be better
1:01 dancing dwarf
Die Spiele von damals hatten definitiv mehr Charakter.
bizarre version of Final Fight 😂
26:54 They all look like dudes in drag.
I have this pcb and run it in my double dragon. Sadly it’s the world vision and not the Japanese
Those final burn sound glitches are rough, man…. Play er on mame. Much better emulation.
INSERTCOINS)
Pretty much TMNT music. lol
AI seems very annoying. And it does not seem possible to hit multiple enemies at the same time, which I call "herding," which sucks.
Better than Double Drsgon
NEVER released on consoles. 😅😂🤣😱🥶😠😡😯
Crime Crackers (japanese Playstation)
Crime Wave (Saturn)
Crime Killer (Playstation)
Ehh
