been messing with drift for ages using the drift correction factor slider in advanced tab.. but never thought of restarting psvr as showin in this video..
This video triggered another idea that I had heard from someone in a forum. They had tried everything under the sun to try and troubleshoot the drift issue that they were having. They listed off many of the things that they had tried. They said that they finally tried one last resort idea. That idea was to literally set the headset down and turn it on and leave it. The person said that they just left it there powered on for several minutes. Apparently it worked and the drift issue was occurring far less often and much less severe. It was almost a night and day difference for them. The idea of watching those numbers count down in this video matches up to that idea perfectly. Like it was mentioned, the gyros are orienting themselves as the numbers are changing and every time he resets it, they have to orient themselves far less. This solution can work for PS4 users as well. Turn on your PSVR headset and let it just sit on a table for at least 2-3 minutes and basically orient its brain before you put it to use. What could be added to that idea is to also reset the headset as well, like in this video. Power it on, leave it for several minutes, reset it, leave it for another couple minutes and I bet it would work near flawlessly. I have still yet to test this but it makes sense.
@@jraegames3804 It honestly is not even a big inconvenience either to wait 2-3 minutes before playing. People can go make a drink, grab a snack, check emails real quick, etc. If it turns out to be a consistent fix for the issue, then I wouldn't even blame Sony at all, not a big deal.
I've had this problem for a long time. I'm so happy to see this video right now. I haven't tried it yet, but thank you! Would the 'Drift Correction Factor' option on the Advanced tab help?
With 0.9.2 version all worked fine!! After 0.9.9 version the image is rotating over and over. With ivry from steam is working perfectly. Sorry for my English!!!
Hi James, would you be able to do a new tutorial for the updated version of TrinusPSVR? , not used it for a while and having trouble getting the image in my HMD again(all red). Also image on screen is upside down and facing backwards!!, any help would be appreciated :)
hello james, ive tried folling this tutorial but for some odd reason my vr is bugging out. if i use the steamVR setting it makes my screen wrap around and half the screen resolution, when i put on the VR i can see the left of the scren in the left lens and the right in the right lens. but the screens dont match up and i cant see a part in the middle. also it looks very flickery when its on and when i loaded up steam vr my move controls are constantly inverting and non inverting and my head is in the floor. do you know what sort of problem this is? and how can i fix it, thanks again for the video tutorial james!
My headset doesn't really drift after calibrating and while it sits on a table. But just after a few corners in PCars2 I have to reset view. And do that constantly. Is this just normal, or am I doing something wrong?
Hey mate love the vids but I don’t have a drift issue , when I was near 100% with driver4vr and motion controllers as well as Kinect all setup my trinus started calibrating at 180 so I’m facing the wrong way. I have no idea how to fix and am thinking I need to format to try again. Any chance u may or anyone knows a fix .... please ;)
I'm trying to setup PSVR on PC and on the monitor the game looks great no issues but inside the headset it is very jittery. I have tried increasing Sensor Smoothing but all it did was increase latency.
In the game you have to go to your options and find the VR options for graphics and the very first selection drag it all the way to the left. It has something to do with testing the video making sure it looks nice, but that's already being done else where.
i need a little help, had everything up and running perfectly due to your vids but today i loaded it up and every time i look left it looks right its the same with up and down any tips
I found a fix, In order to fix the issue you need to run a modified version of PSMoveFreePieBridge which inverts the x and z axis and lowers the y height by 1m (so you don't appear like a giant in the room and controllers aren't in the floor. with playing around with the yaw offset and using the bridge its working perfect. thanks for help

@@jraegames3804 Agreed. It only takes 2-3 minutes. Sony didn't make their headset as well engineered as Oculus and Vive, with as high end of parts. They needed it affordable to the masses. It is still an excellent headset and I would be completely fine with it if this was a real, near perfect fix for the issue. We are only in Gen 1 of VR right now. Everything is honestly just a prototype, including Oculus and Vive. If VR is thought to be a viable business option then we can expect amazing technology in the future. These Gen 1 headsets are still excellent for a first go and have radically changed video games for those who have tried them. The games thus far are pretty well done also. If Sony or any other major company decides to release a system that is specifically just for VR, with peripherals like gloves, shoes, and full fluid movement, then I believe we could expect some revolutionary things. The PSVR won't ever reach its true potential because everything created has to work for the regular PS4 as well. So creators can't ever reach the full potential of the PRO model.
