What IS this?! GORGEOUS Agate Nodule Discovered in the Hills while the River Rises
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 2 окт 2024
- The Yellowstone River's annual spring rise is underway, so Kate and Kava take to the hills to discover more rockhounding treasure. Kate finds an agate nodule that has it all - fortifications, plumes, banding and more. The agate is far different from the common Montana agate she usually finds. Not technically a Treasure State Agate, which has fortifications more like a Fairburn Aagate, this beautiful piece is something entirely different. Kate has decided to call it "Montana Lace." :D

Nice of Kava to lead you to that area of rocks. Always be safe! To the hills! Omg, TSA!!! Love the vugs 🥰
:) Thanks!
Katie, you’re a generous soul! Love your channel especially because you find the stone and then show it cleaned up and slabbed. It adds so much to your video. Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome!
I really love that agate that might be a treasure state agate.
Thanks - it really is beautiful.
What a gorgeous agate!
It really is!
I love hunting the hills.. it’s amazing to think about how these gravels were transported here. And the forces involved to put so many cracks in these very hard rocks..
It really is fascinating.
You have a great show please add to Rumble platform and I’ll continue watching.
:D Thanks, Mike.
What a great hunt/adventure. It's amazing the rocks that can be found away from the river. I really liked the story about the rocks being cracked; it adds another nice dimension to the finding them. And seeing all the cactus was a great reminder of one of my first adventures, with my parents, along the SK/MT border. They brought some of it back with them for their yard, and I now have some of it in my yard. It gets the most beautiful yellow blooms in the Spring/early Summer. And it's great for "dog control" along the edge of the property, ;-).
Nice! Glad to spark some memories.
Beautiful pieces. So glad that you grabbed that rock you set aside before. I was really hoping that you would. 😁
I knew it would wait for me. :)
The hills in Montana have some nice stuff when you know what your looking for and you found some nice pieces.
Thanks, Travis. Isn't that lace agate amazing?
@@KatyDidRocks yeah it is really nice there is so much going on in it.
Lovely finds
Thanks!
Very much enjoyed 🥰Thanks for taking us along!
My pleasure 😊
I would think hunting the hills would be so much easier than coming up from the river with a backpack full of rocks...thanks, Kate!
Thanks for joining me, Ginger. :)
Hi Kate, once again it looks like you have some great looking agates & some outstanding Jaspers. I am sure there are a lot of people here in Australia that wish there was an area like that here, which includes me,👍. Even if it is a little prickly at times. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin.
Haha, I literally didn't notice I had put it down in the middle of some cactus. :D
Great vídeo katdid
Thanks!
Beautiful finds today, Kate!
Thanks, Robin!
It always strikes me as odd that we have sooo much flood gravels from Montana and it is all 100% free of agates.
The agates formed on the east side of Yellowstone Park, a line of volcanoes stretching 150 miles. The Missoula floods brought you treasure (?) from the west, but I imagine the Rockies (or whatever the geography was at the time) kept all those beautiful agates in the east.
Gotta love those agatized petrified wood pieces! Interesting patterns, when you cut them.
They do - and they're so pretty with light shining through.
@@KatyDidRocks they cut nice cabochons too!
The bands on that treasure state agate were exceptional and rock hounding in the hills looks like hunting for Easter eggs! This was a very fun video
:) Hey, that's exactly what it's like! Thanks, Nancy.
Greetings from Northern Indiana! I just love watching your rockin adventures! 😉
Thank you, Nikki. :)
Love the rock at 10:14
Isn't it amazing?!
Look at the natural ore, bang sp tau, the typical rock of Kediri, adding to the collection material

Super beautiful and interesting finds 👍 Great Video. Thank you for showing us some wonderful treasures of the Montana Hills🙂
Thank you!
Looks like you found yourself some really cool Rockhound Treasures as always. Nice!
Thanks!
You definitely don’t need the River to find some beautiful rocks. Great video! 🥰Happy Mother’s Day🥰
Thanks, Margie!
Scary with that digged hole, really a trap for both animals and people. Is that legal to let it be open like this? LOVELY ROCKS, as alwlays, thank you!!!
Yes, I hadn’t thought about the possibility of animals falling in the hole. I think it was for a water line, but I don’t know. 😊
Very cool finds!! That agate slab was just beautiful! I think you had a pretty good day, I loved your “giant” sound effects 😆😆👍
I amuse myself. :D
😂😂😂😂😂 Never a dull moment. A giant lol
:D I make myself laugh.
Katy, awesome finds! Love the views and of course the material. Rock on ! ✌️
Thanks!
I’m going camping in Billings in August just to look for agates and pet wood. I’m so excited.
Nice! The farther east you go, the more agates you will find - Billings is pretty hard hit.
I enjoyed your hunt today. Some of those rocks are beautiful finds, thank you for sharing what is available on the hillside of the Yellowstone river!
Thanks, Vicky!
Such a great video! Amazing finds!
:) Thank you.
It always amazes me, how you find better stones than I ever did in every one of your rock hounding videos. Really beautiful!
It's 100% the area where I live, Nicky. :)
Hi Kate, no matter what, you always find wonderful goodies.
It helps to live in the Treasure State! :D
That hole was probably a sample hole for gold. They should of filled it back in. Really nice finds. I really like that TSA
Thanks, Rodney!

Another nice video.
Thank you. :)
You amuse me too. 😃
:D
Love your videos❤️What do you do if you come upon snakes or other creatures during your adventures? I need to fly out to Great Falls and would like to add a day to hunt some agates!
Great questions. Let me know if u find the answers 2 ur questions. Thx.
There are actually much fewer snakes than you might think, and they are pretty shy. Just watch out for them in the shade of bushes and cracks of rocks. They are afraid of you too. :D The other creatures you might see are coyotes, prairie dogs, and mosquitoes. Of those, the mosquitoes are the WORST - wear insect repellant. The other critters will run away from you. Hope this helps!
