Agreed! It's really more work than it needs to be to just sharpen the pencil. I should be able to just sharpen it without it being in the freezer first.
ysnc12 or they could at least just write on the pencil that you can sharpen it. I looked and it doesn’t say anything. I found this video googling if it could be sharpened, ugh.
I complete feel wasteful sharpening a MAC lip liner. Like you could have used those you sharpened.

+Kendall Rae Hey Kendall. Just want to know your views on this, that don't you think that the crayons get wasted a lot, because the middle stick gets shaved too while using the sharpener. I have purchased my first ever crayon lip color, and want to know your thoughts on this concern.
Omg thank you! I've been using these pencils for years and my sister just recently told me that you can sharpen them. I felt sooo dumb because I've been throwing them away after they became unsharp. I've always wondered why they didn't have a lot of product... little did I know they could sharpen! I have probably thrown away about 50 pencils that were not sharpened!!! Regrets of a makeup lover... but thank you, now I know!

This is about to be a game changer for me.
I am so happy I found this video! I bought a Sharpener from Covergirl that had both the small and the jumbo slot and it would not fit. So, I bought the sharpener from NYX itself and it fir but would not sharpen. I just tried this tip and it worked! Thank you so much, because I was going to throw it out and did not want to have to waste the product and buy another one. You're awesome!

If putting it in the freezer doesn't help, I transfer it to a chapstick container. I have the shade milk that I melted in the microwave then took an empty chapstick and poured it into the container. Let it cool in the freezer for a couple mins and it was good to go. It screws up perfectly and no more sharpening!

So you transferred the content in the chapstick container? How do you use it?
@@shashikumar-uw6uu I assume they use their fingers if they're using it all over, and using a brush if they're using it as an eyeliner?

Same! I was trying to twist the bottom, because it looks like there's a thin tube of the stuff in there that needs pushing up. I have the regular pencil size in linen and LOVE it. The formula is great and stays on great. I'm glad I watched this before trying to sharpen it! Thanks
I have some that are too big for any sharpener! That's what I hoped you were going to show. Wet and wild has one called a body pencil that's white like the milk pencil. I always had put my NYX in the fridge overnight before sharpening. Freezer works too!

Hi, that you for your video. I bought 2 of these last week and forgot that I didn't want to buy pencils anymore because of the sharpening and wanted to only buy the retractable ones. I saw this white one and really liked it, and then remembered why I didn't want these kinds of pencils anymore, so thank you :)

Brilliant! Now the key is to get a sharpener that fits. Most jumbo sharpeners don't fit the NYX pencils. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah...this technique real works for make up pencils. I think its because make up pencils contain wax and when you put them somewhere cold that will harden the wax hence making it easier to sharpen. I've known this since I was 14-16 years old and I'm now turning 40 and I still do this technique. Thanks for uploading!
