Why did the British want India? Why did the Greeks want Persia? Why did the Romans want Greece? Why did the Persians want Egypt? We can keep asking these questions till the end of time. The truth is they wanted them because they knew they could take them, that's pretty much the only reason. Humans are a warlike people, it's no coincidence that in long times of peace human ingenuity and progression slows, whereas in wartime we can go from cavalry charges to tanks and air battles in just a few short years. In the cold war America went from metal bombs that needed to be transported and dropped via airplane, to having the capacity to obliterate the Island of Ireland with a sonic pulse weapon from outer space if it got the urge to one day.

The use of elephants in war goes back thousands of years, but it was never very practical. They make for good platforms for archers and can crush enemies underfoot. However, elephants are difficult to control and easily panicked. Both the Romans and the Macedonians dealt with them quite effectively. In the end, the panicking elephants often killed more soldiers on their own side than on the enemy's.
You wanted a time frame at the start. I watched your Mongolian empire video, it dealt with ghengis khan in the 13th century. 1205 -1266 . So 300 years before the Moughal empire starts. This video talks about dynastic ancestry. I heard a statistic a few years ago that about 80% (?) Of the people of this region have dna that can be traced back to ghengis, he had a lot of wives and concubines, and enjoyed his conquests. Alladin. I associate him with Baghdad and Iraq. He is one of the heroes from the tales of 1001 nights. War elephants. There is a long tadition of these animals being used. Remember The Carthaginian, Hanibal, used them to fight the Romans. He took some of them along when he crossed the Alps from France into Italy. They were useful for breaking up enemy lines and formations, archers could fire down on the enemy from boxes (howdahs ) carried on their backs. I saw some elephant armour on display in the tower armouries in London. It would cover the head and shoulders of the elephant to protect it from arrows, spear thrusts etc. East India Company. Yes it had its own defensive forces. It's ships carried canon too. They were carrying and trading expensive products in volatile countries. It all needed protecting. They took advantage of unstable situations to push their own agenda. They wouldn't try and knock down a stable and thriving set up, they would just seek trade agreements with them. But if the opposition were crumbling they would move in to start running the show. Trade and economic wealth was their goal, running the place was subsidiary to that.
Actually, whilst being of Indigenous descent I am no fan of Columbus, he called the Native People of our country "Indios"("People of God" in Italian),not "Indians".
don't confuse with the Word "INDIA" the word INDIA was given by Greeks . (because of Indus river) the Persian called as "HINDOSTAN" even it is called by Europeans of western world, but the actual we Indian not called as INDIA , we called as "BHARATA VARSHA or BHARAT" because in Ancient Time it was called as BHARATA VARSHA or "ARYAVARTH" in our ancient text (written in Sanskrit) the whole land called as "BHARATA VARSHA or BHARAT" even in our constitution (Indian constitution) also refers " INDIA as " BHARAT" local Indian not called India they called Hindustan or Bharat. You should make review on Ancient India or on Ancient Indian text then you know ..!
There was no clear successor after the death of the king according to Mughal Traditions. The empire was then divided between siblings, therefore they try to kill each other to obtain all of the empire.
the British East India co. started out as a trading co but thought they needed an army so there were laws, their not liking the local laws. so imposed themselves on the area the Indian princes could work under the east India company so it stayed. unfortunately, the company became too powerful so so the British government dissolved the company and declared Victoria as empress. that is as far as my secondary education took me the attraction of India it produced many of the spices and was greatly valued

Just about every 'ruler' faced challenges from others, including family. It was the way it was 'might is right'. Although heavily disguised might is right is still the driving factor within society. Henry VIII had his nearest challenger, Edward Stafford, executed. James II was deposed by his daughter and son in law.
Why British invade India ?good question but answer is so simple india is very wealthy and fertile especially pepper which known as black gold at that time British is economically nothing in front of India at that time so they invade india. India is most diverse country in the world linguisticly, religiously and culturally so British come up with the idea of divide and rule so they can invade all the wealth of India to do so British make conflicts between hindhu Muslim and sikhs and they fought each other’s and after so many years Indians united and they fought against British and India got independence Sorry for my poor English

1. You are talking in a typical feminine ideal of a world, such as why conquer other nations and kill and why not live in harmony; well men specially in those times were dreaming of conquering lands and it is in man's nature to fight and leave his mark, like male lions extending their territory meaning more access to mating and preys. 2. Elephants were used to hold upto 10/20 men with specially made base on its back, where the fighters would use bow and arrow, just like lord of the rings.
"I didn't know they used elephants in wars..." My jaw dropped. Could it be possible that this lady somehow missed out on Hannibal and Alexander the Great? Oh boy that journey of learning just got a lot longer... Let me get some pop corn, then let's go!
Also for spices, and to grow 3 cash-crops (cotton, tea and opium) ... Cotton because we needed cloth and America wouldn't sell us cotton from the Southern States after 1776. Opium to trade with the Chinese, even though we knew its sale was forbidden in China (we mainly swapped it for tea, until we stole and smuggled a tea bush out of China). Tea once we "liberated" a bush from China because it's our national drink.

Poor video, history should never be used to point fingers at others in later times, that's the quickest way to stir up hatred. Even with actions within someone's lifetime you can't really paint all people with the same brush. Individuals are responsible not a whole people. You should look at aspects of Indian culture that have undermined them for 1000s of years such as the caste system and the enmity with Muslims and Hindu nationalism. There's a reason some Indians want more Western cultural influence in India. The conditions for women in India is another point.

India has vast resources of jewels like diamonds rubies emeralds. Tea. So many spices! Lo5s of timber teak etc! Cotton which used to be bought from USA colonies! All to be plundered by the british!
I dont want to be cheeky but if you dabble in british history from 1500 onwards it would become much clearer ! The Dutch east india company did exactly what the british did across Indonesia!! Canada also had similar set up used by the brits as we colonised it.
Cecil Rhodes did a similar thing in Africa for britain! The old country of Rhodesia may give you a clue! Zealand is an area of Holland and that's how we get New Zealand.
Nova (new) Scotia (scotland) caledonia is an area of scotland but you may know new caledonia in Canada! Hawaii was found by captain cook a famous british explorer and we have the cook islands he also helped map the east coast of Australia where you may have heard of states like NEW SOUTH WALES AND VICTORIA. The list is colossal
British navy put limes in water barrels on ships to help stop scurvy and americans called brits limeys! Australia was a penal colony for the British where they call brits POMMS. the prisoners sent to australia had POHM written on their uniforms = prisoner of his majesty!!
Do you know at their height British East India company had an army twice the size of Royal British army
No indians call their country bharat or hindustan. India is a western name
Why don't you ask this question of "power hunger" from Ameria
Has anybody made the Harry Potter joke yet? Oh... they have; okay then.
Babur Mongolian name Barlas borjigon Mongolia okey mogul =Mongolia okey
Yeah europeans didn't conquer they just colonize. Lol
Muslims served in the British army to in ww1 and ww2. And there are 650 currently serving in the British army in 2020.
Muslims , sikh etc
Actually, whilst being of Indigenous descent I am no fan of Columbus, he called the Native People of our country "Indios"("People of God" in Italian),not "Indians".
don't confuse with the Word "INDIA" the word INDIA was given by Greeks . (because of Indus river)
the Persian called as "HINDOSTAN" even it is called by Europeans of western world, but the actual we Indian not called as INDIA , we called as "BHARATA VARSHA or BHARAT" because in Ancient Time it was called as BHARATA VARSHA or "ARYAVARTH" in our ancient text (written in Sanskrit) the whole land called as "BHARATA VARSHA or BHARAT" even in our constitution (Indian constitution) also refers " INDIA as " BHARAT" local Indian not called India they called Hindustan or Bharat. You should make review on Ancient India or on Ancient Indian text then you know ..!
There was no clear successor after the death of the king according to Mughal Traditions. The empire was then divided between siblings, therefore they try to kill each other to obtain all of the empire.
the British East India co. started out as a trading co but thought they needed an army so there were laws, their not liking the local laws. so imposed themselves on the area
the Indian princes could work under the east India company so it stayed. unfortunately, the company became too powerful so so the British government dissolved the company and declared Victoria as empress. that is as far as my secondary education took me the attraction of India it produced many of the spices and was greatly valued
That time all people have military mind , that how they live
Like US destroying Iraq Libya for what reason

Just about every 'ruler' faced challenges from others, including family. It was the way it was 'might is right'. Although heavily disguised might is right is still the driving factor within society. Henry VIII had his nearest challenger, Edward Stafford, executed. James II was deposed by his daughter and son in law.
Why British invade India ?good question but answer is so simple india is very wealthy and fertile especially pepper which known as black gold at that time British is economically nothing in front of India at that time so they invade india. India is most diverse country in the world linguisticly, religiously and culturally so British come up with the idea of divide and rule so they can invade all the wealth of India to do so British make conflicts between hindhu Muslim and sikhs and they fought each other’s and after so many years Indians united and they fought against British and India got independence Sorry for my poor English

usa is also a conqured country
"I didn't know they used elephants in wars..."
My jaw dropped. Could it be possible that this lady somehow missed out on Hannibal and Alexander the Great? Oh boy that journey of learning just got a lot longer... Let me get some pop corn, then let's go!
South Asia is called sub continent...

Subcontinent simply means Covered by water or sea on three sides .
Why do you want to know about tragic history of India, where Indians were genocided.
the british wanted India was fabulously wealthy. Like, fabulously
For wealth and also for controlling the trade routes to it
You are so Welsh!

money.
The conditions for women in India is another point.
like for your efforts
Let me explain to you if you dont try how do you know it ca

I am not a "anti-american resentful soul", and I like your channel, but come on, you are wearing a USA t-shirt,,
USA invaded Indian nations.
In many ways is not comparable, but a lot of it has to do with what does conquerors did in their time.
You may choose to see it as an expansion, an adventure, an inspiring achievement, but those generations who were raised following those conquerors probably learned to appreciate what their ancestors did as something glorious.
There are always multiple perspectives.
