I think Black Uhru's sound revolutionised Reggae. In the UK we couldn't get enough of them and they would they would shake up the dance. RAS is one of the most uplifting channels on RUclips. No lie told ❤️💛💚🖤

I wish I could spend one day observing how you conduct your research. I'm just an avid fan, amateur collector of reggae, used to be a selector in parties/radio and was relatively close to the industry and helped build it in my home country. But I've learned so much and deepened so much what I already sort of knew, I have never learned soi much about this beloved culture since I've found your channel. Thank you very much

"I don't like reggae, I love it," 10cc i think did that one. When a saint loves something he recognizes as true, he'll die for it. Finally hearing the rest of this video, the crepes I was given for free will taste great this morning and feel solid that there will be no suffering for any soul today .Jah bless

Great episode 👍 I grew up listening to Bob Marley and Peter Tosh but it was Black Uhuru who really got me into reggae music as a kid. Sinsemilla was the first reggae album that I ever bought myself and I had no idea what they are singing about😁I just loved the unique sound and still do 🥰

I think Waterhouse has produced more reggae artists than any other place in the world, even more than Trench Town.

Life is a journey that it's filled with highs and lows, but there are those who have what it takes to make through. Duckie Simpson is a living proof of it, this is some make up to break up and make up story, you just told here right and he is still around, wow. Some people were born to make it, no matter what. He made reggae music his path, you can get it if you really want, it doesn't work out this way for everyone. But it workout for Duckie Simpson, nuff respect to him.

Great content as always. Somewhat off topic but related, I feel like reggae listeners sometimes overlook island Records' catalog outside the genre. At the time that Black Uhuru signed to Island they had artists like Grace Jones, King Crimson, Jethro Tull and Traffic. The labels first number one hit was actually "Video Killed The Radio Star" by The Buggles in 1979. Trevor Horn, leader of The Buggles, went on to found ZZT Records who were distributed by Island and produced hits like "Relax" by Frankie Goes To Hollywood (one of the best selling singles of 1984). So Island had their hands in all of that and more. I think we as supporters of reggae tend to think Island made it's money off acts like The Wailers and Black Uhuru, but they'd been putting out very successful records across a lot of different genres since the late '60s.
Anyway. Thanks again for these great videos !
