Many Caribbean artists were very vocal against Apartheid, who could forget that witty hit song by Eddie Grant give me hope Johanna, many people thought he was singing about a girl, but the song was an overt anti apartheid song. Africa will always love Caribbean people for how they stood with us in our fight against imperialism and apartheid. Africa loves Caribbean.

I wish I was old enough to have experienced those old school reggae artists during that time. They brought so much power and good vibes with them it gives me chills to learn and hear about it. Being from Chicago to know Peter Tosh and Bob Marley blew into the windy city is much for me. I was a young boy when they came thur, didn't know about reggae music growing up in Chicago during the 80's. Reggae music didn't get any air during that time in Chicago.

Being an adherent of Ras Tafari Movemant in the late 1960s InI had the overstanding about how evil the apartheid regime in South Afrika was. InI chanted constantly against it and all forms of settler colonialism n neo colonialism worldwide including here in the island of Jamaica. Ras Tafari Movemant stands firmly for Afrikan Liberation.

But he did…. That’s what most of you fail to realize, Bob was the oppressors tool. If Bob was real he would’ve let the world know Peter Tosh was the true king of Reggae Music…. Bob was used as a political tool. There were bigger artists than Bob, however Bob had the complexion.
