      Growing up in Europe English was the common language when speaking to foreigners so I heard accents a lot.
      And it does causes issues, cause I tend to emulate whoever’s accent I’m talking to.

    • @susear5939
      @susear5939 2 месяца назад +23

      I speak multiple languages. With the brain switching between languages, the accent when speaking English changes with that mind. There's also the accents I have picked up via being exposed to so much media from around the world. Add to the fact I'm a subconscious accent mimic. It gets confusing when I consciously want to pull an accent.

    Adapting like a chameleon to mimic the accents of others is part of ADHD masking where you get excited about a new person and really want them to like you back as a person so you’re mirroring them to make yourself more likable to them. And it can start within minutes of meeting them. The more you talk to each other, the more of their accent you pick up.
