Heading South lyrics:
Was a boy who was a dreamer and he flew so high and proud
In a world full of people out to cut his young ass down
No one ever understood a single word he said
And they cast him to the wolves when he wasn’t well and fed
Boys we’ve got a riser, a riser in our midst
He will get the last laugh if it’s the last thing he did
And he used to roll around in that red dirt mud
But now he’s skipping town and that riser's out for blood
Don’t stop goin’, goin’ south
'Cause they’ll let you play your music real damn loud
Don’t stop headin’, headin’ south
'Cause they will understand the words that are pouring from your mouth
Then that boy he callеd his daddy to tell him what he did
As the masses scream the lyrics of a messed up kid
And then he told that old man he was never comin' back
To be cut down again in a town like that
Then he surely came to learn people come to watch you fall
He's out to make a name and a fool out of ‘em all
And they’ll never understand that boy and his kind
All they comprehend is a fuckin' dollar sign
So don't stop goin', goin' south
'Cause they’ll let you play your music real damn loud
Don’t stop headin’, headin’ south
'Cause they will understand the words that are pourin' from your mouth
Don’t stop goin’, goin’ south
They will understand the words that are pourin' from your mouth
Don't stop goin', goin' south
'Cause they'll let you scream your music real damn loud

Zach Bryan official bio:
Oklahoma born and bred Zach Bryan has been making an impact on the underground country music scene for the past few years even while he was still actively serving in the US Navy. He released a pair of independently recorded and released albums, DeAnn (2019) and Elisabeth (2020) that provided the spark that would ignite his arrival. New songs and videos would appear via socials and RUclips all fueled by a voracious word-of-mouth community that would ascend into a dramatic trajectory that continuously draws millions of new country and rock fans into his orbit week after week.
His 2019 breakthrough single “Heading South” garnered 90 million global Spotify streams and over 15 million RUclips views and soon the Billboard Hot Country Songs and Hot Rock Songs began to chart his moves.
Without the aid of extensive touring or commercial radio, his impact upon the new Americana culture skyrocketed purely on the strength of his deeply personal, relatable songs gaining a seemingly unstoppable momentum that resonates with music fans around the world. Upon his release from service, he traveled from base directly to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. Soon after, shows in New York City and Nashville - at prestigious The Ryman Auditorium, no less, sold out in minutes without fanfare.
To date, every show of his first extensive US tour has found him connecting with fans in a Springsteen-esqe communal experience thanks to music and attitude that is simple, undiluted, genuine, and captivating. Bryan has surpassed 1 billion combined global streams with 12 million monthly Spotify listeners. All unprecedented terrain for a new artist completely free from any music industry influence or outside assistance.
Zach Bryan is a true artist who believes in letting the music do the talking as the songs themselves take centerstage. He embodies the Outlaw attitude of legends like Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson while drawing in young alternative fans and new country purists alike. The bond he shares with his audience is something special to witness live. He tells his story through the songs, delivering them with raw emotion and pure passion, generating a mutual respect in an authentic way very few can and do.

Thanks for watching my video. I gathered all the songs I shot at this concert in a RUclips playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLwdc0qZNx0tahOK7WMU8jEupzFQM5TAo_. The songs are Take Me Home Country Roads, Open The Gate, Highway Boys, Condemned, Quittin' Time, Heading South, From Austin, Something In The Orange, '68 Fastback, Heavy Eyes, Burn Burn Burn, and Revival. Enjoy!
There can't be anything more profound than an audience of people singing your song to you so loud it drowns out your speakers.
Amen to that it has to be the greatest feeling as a musician
He almost lost it there
They wanted to drown out them speakers

Literally transcends a man and his guitar. It's more than that. Impressive
I cannot imagine the feeling of having your audience belt out the words to a song you wrote louder than the speakers . And you can tell he was humbled through his emotions, his facial expressions. Congrats Mr Bryan on your well earned success. I have watched you on RUclips for the past 3 years and will continue. I hope that one day you find solace in knowing that your audience respects the hell out of you for not selling out.
Anybody else cry everytime they listen too !? The struggling feeling 😢❤
The addition of the fiddle to this song kicks so much ass
We need a studio version of this with the band
The live version of him sweating like a hooker in church is pretty good.
Anyone else balling their eyes out??
That two-toned shirt though… what a beautiful human!
I have never heard an audience belt out a single line, with such clarity, as they do here at “is a f#%!ing dollar sign!” Ever. Wish I was there.
When he comes back in it gave my goose bumps soo cool to see
Freaking legend, military man and writes his own music. Also stands up to corrupt award shows.
He's a real one, for sure. 🤟🏻
Cash 2.0
The reason the fans are this way is because his music hits the Heart. Any person can feel this song
I got goose bumps when the crowd took over right at the beginning !! So powerful
That band is absolutely amazing
An audience full of people who are so moved by your music that they learned all the lyrics - THIS is the gift!
Guy on the fiddle needs to be on every song
Man he may be one of the most talented artist to come out of nowhere in a very long time. You’re a special dude zack thank you bro seriously thanks you
I have never seen anything like this. for fans to drown out the speakers with every word of the verses, not just the chorus. that requires a song to resonate with every single person in that audience so deeply. i hope i can see him live and experience a fraction of this emotion
Country Music is the best!
GOOSEBUMPS
I'm so made at myself that I just discovered this man's music tonight. This is the second song I heard of his and am blown away! Hearing his intro to the song, I was all in. When he opened his mouth to sing, the entire crowd sang along. Wow wow wow so powerful. I'm now a fan and listener for life.
I just found Zach last night. This song speaks to me. This young man is an old Soul.
I Hope they make a movie about this.
This makes me smile. I’m so happy for him. ❤😊

I'm a new person to what I see and I love this man...true to the bone ...in a good zone ❤️❤️🙋👍
I know a few people who won’t go to see Zach Bryan live because this happens with every song. It’s a thing. As long as you know it’s happening, you can go… or not. I hear the show at Red Rocks in the snow last week was almost a religious experience.
This is how I feel!!! I can’t wait to see him. This song has changed everything for me fr
This makes me want to break into the concert.
Chills
Lol he doesn't have to say a word. They singing it for him. ❤
I'm so happy you made it was their any doubt I've been a fan since the first Video God Bless this song and God Speed are the best

love how everyone said "a fucking dollar sign" instead of worthless
Damnit! That’s fn awesome. First time I’ve seen it. ❤
THANK YOU FOR RECORDING THIS!! this was my concert :)
More singing than a dashboard confessional concert!
This guy is sooo talented ……who did he open for when he started…be interesting to know
I love this song and I wish it still made sense to me. Grew up in the Deep South but it’s changed forever and I’m worried it’s never coming back. The cow pastures are replaced by cul-de-sacs and the people are more concerned with politics that go against their own self interests. I miss the old south.
Look up American Aquarium “I believe in a better south”.
We can be better!
Aint no better then live
I’ll bet that was a good concert
I was there it was a great concert
I live in west central ohio. I need to attend his live performance.
Hope he tours Canada at some point
Good lord, how he perform remind me so much of Jonny cash😲
and he wrote it all in 3 minutes
Underbar...
If you ask me something in the orange was the one that got the ball rolling fast
Coem to Australia!!!

They like country music in San Fran?
Stay off the news.
do you have the video of traveling man?
Sorry Elliot, no...I've uploaded Take Me Home Country Roads, Open The Gate, Highway Boys, Condemned, Quittin' Time, Heading South, From Austin, and Something In The Orange, and I still have '68 Fastback, Heavy Eyes, Burn Burn Burn, and Revival left to post. But I didn't get Traveling Man unfortunately. 🙁
@@TimBracken Damn, love that song but all good. Loving watching these vids after being there so thank you
@@elliotmacdonald5712 he didn’t sing it at the concert I went to, I reckon he just had more popular songs that were priority
Country>rap
What we need is a true live like so but have every one...SHUT TF UP! I don't go spend money to see a band only to hear everyone drunk screaming the words. Let the Artist be an Artist..? They tend to change the song up a little beat, crescendo maybe, break it down, add a verse. Sh#t who knows, let they paying customers get what they paid for...I mean that is the truth.
Wrong, as a performer and musician myself crowds like this are what we live for. There is nothing wrong with screaming the lyrics in fact I remember one time at a show the crowd was so loud I had ringing in my ears for days and I wear hearing protection. If you don't want to hear a crowd stick to Spotify.
@@harryshield4335 I see both sides of this argument, and kudos to you for going out there and performing during a tough time in the music industry, but I've been to shows where people are screaming the words so loudly that I can't hear the performer. Not singing loudly, by the way. Screaming. Shred-your-vocal-chords screaming. If I've waited in line for hours to get a good spot, if I've paid a lot of money because the show is sold out and tickets are scarce, if I've been dying to hear this musician for years and they're finally right in front of me...then I want to at least HEAR what they're singing. When the person next to me is screaming at the top of their lungs the whole time, then they're having a great time, which is nice for them, but they're doing it at the expense of other people, which is textbook selfishness. To be clear, I'm not saying people need to act like they're at a library. Sing, cheer, have fun! But if you're screaming the words the entire show and drowning out the singer for everyone around you then that's going too far.
Wah!
