I guess im asking randomly but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot my password. I appreciate any help you can give me!
@Andre Demetrius i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I have one of those exact basses! unbelievably cheap but so unbelievably good. I like it alot. I have changed my scratchplate to tortoiseshell, added an ashtray Bridge cover and replaced the harness with a far better one. it's now a fantastic bass.
Ben Forsdike I've done almost the exact same thing kept the pick guard but added the normal black jazz bass knobs and recently added the bridge and pickup cover. Looks real nice!
I bought one a couple of years ago when the exchange rate was more favourable. All I've done was change the knobs for "the real deal" and shave a few sharp fret ends. The only real minus is that mine's really heavy @ 10 pounds and you can tell when wearing it. I could address it by routing a bit under the treble side of the pickguard and adding lightweight tuners though.
i had the 5 sting version ( i traded it for a dimension bass) and it weighed 11 pounds! the bass player in my band had to use it in an emergency once and he said he said his shoulder hurt for a few days. i had to fill in for another bands bass player and did the same thing, they are simply too damn heavy! however, the bang you get for your buck is astonishing with the vintage modified and classic vibe.
I can really feel the difference with it compared to my roadworn jazz which is one pound lighter. I'm in my fifties so I'm more sensitive to excessive weight. It has to be the soft maple body as that's the only non usual item in the mix. Still,a very nice bass and worth seeking out if you can find a lightweight one.
I have a lot of basses, some pretty expensive, some not so much. My number one is a totally stock but well set up squire classic vibe 60's jazz bass. Maybe the quality control isn't great but I got a great one. Squires and low end epiphanies are so much better now than they were in the late 90's early 2000's
I cant thank you enough for teaching me how to handle my instrument. Bahahaha. No seriously though, achieving that comfort level to work on them is so liberating.
Love my Squire Jazz ! I have a Fender American Jazz , a Fender Aerodyne Jazz ( J & P pickups ) Maybe i play the Squire more because it blows my mind just how sweet it plays and sounds..love. THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT VID DAVE !!
Buddy is going to freak at how much easier it is to play now. From 9/64 action to 5/64 and the nut from .38 to probably .20 ? Forget about it, speedy easy bass now.
I own three of the Squier classic vibe jazz basses and one classic vibe precision bass. I have an 83 Fender J bass I've owned since new and was always my go to girl. Not after I got the same bass you are working on. Set up right it is a great effin bass for the money.
A note...Mr.D... I play "Dog house" TO!!Having said that..While,Ironically,I prefer "Low action" on my Electrics,I'm ALSO open to Different actions on my Doghouses!!! Much respect, you've taught me ALOT!! (After the Fact),but that was'nt Your fault,I've lost gigs "cause I'd just take a bass to audition or Gig,and DID'NT know to do my work on INTONATION!! Keep doing what you're Doing!!! Much Respect!!!
I have this very same bass that I bought new a few months ago. The string action is very high on it as well. But the neck looks straight to me. Should I just mess with the saddles?
I used to own one of these basses. They're a good value for the money, and they come with Seymour Duncan's, which is nice. I just couldn't fall in love with a Jazz Bass. I even owned a USA Fender and it didn't do the trick. I Guess I'm a Precision bass man to the core. Rock on!
Hi Dave, I want a project. I am looking at customizing a Fender Squier Jazz bass, just like this one. I saw a used one that I may grab. What are your thoughts on shaving the neck, tuning pegs, best bridge, pickup and pre-amp. Thank you,
I just got my mits on one of those. Five string, and surprisingly it's very good. £134 on eBay which was a steal as most others like it are going for around £220 to £260.
Hey Dave, in one of your vids you mentioned Goddo. Sweet thing is one of my favorites and young people never know what I am talking about. Do you remember The Wellington in Markham and when The Santers Band won the Q107 Homegrown contest in 81? I got my first bass from Steve's Music on queen and the bass guy was John M. Am I the only one who remembers all this?
Mentioned in another vid of yours, always adjust the neck of jazz bass!! Because these things are much smaller they are more susceptible to warping, so take care of your bass, recommend detuning when putting it away if you don’t own a hard case, and please :) don’t go crazy with bending the neck for tricks.
No mention (not even in the other comments) of the custom apparently hand-"applied" matte finish? Like several other commenters, I have one of these, and I found it to be pretty good. Maybe some of the fuckulation with this one came with the other modifications.
I bought me one of these brand new for 110.00 and it was pretty much unplayable. I payed for a setup and it was better but still not right so i said fuck it. I'll just apply everything i learned how to set up a bass from your vids and now it it totally bad-ass. Only problem is i dont like Fenders so I'll stick to my Yamaha. Ive learned a lot from you Dave so thank you and keep rockin your vids!
I have that bass very good bass. If you get one get it set up ASAP! It will be off. Put flats on it and changed the controls to a volume, pan knob a d a tone.
I see action problems all the time on all brands and models of guitars. From the very worst with a real bad bowed neck along with a replacement nut that the guy just bought and put on. He was thinking that since the nut was made for Fender that it would fit right out of the package! It was a pre-started Bone Nut and it was double the height it needed to be. My friends and I began calling the guy the Bone Head wanting all Bone Nuts...He did the same thing to al of his guitars and couldnt understand why they played so badly.
Hey Dave, my aunt said she gave you a kiss and a tug behind the Genosha Hotel in Oshawa in 1985, care to comment/confirm/deny/rate/go into detail about said incident? P.S great channel bud!
I have an american deluxe jazz bass from 2014 and I swear nobody where I live so far knows what they are really doing with setup. I've had it to two places, one of which is a guy that makes guitars and basses for a living. You'd think he would make it right. I just want easy to play low action without a ton of buzz. I have buzzy high frets and some buzzy low frets on E and A and the action at the 12th fret on E is like 8/64. $150 I've spent to get this thing setup and IMO it's still not right. 15 minutes and this cheap Squier is setup better than my expensive american jazz. FUCK!!! Wish I was in Toronto to get Dave to fix this fucker right!
Like a car crash... just can't avert your eyes. You can see this blokes mistakes before he even makes them. Vulgar mouth spurting dumb puns, antique buzz words and then you get the stupid 'peace sign' at the end. OMG.
Your into is too long and I fell asleep. You fiddle around too much, just get on with it. Stop 🛑 talking and do the adjustments. We don’t care about conversation.

@@BlaReagy For the Truss Gods did smile upon Dave
And lo! his World was filled with Fun Stuff
all the rest of his days.

@Jon Randall instablaster ;)

Drop Z tuning line was hilarious
Drop Q tuning is over popular.
Sereosh
Drop C. As a Canadian, Dave would have pronounced Z properly. Zed.
solar clapson he said z and no canadians are pretty much americans at this point
Gent bent you ignoramus.
I'm Canadian I say Zee
So cool to see the logo I put together for you being used! Great video as always!
Dave, always look forward to these videos, when I come in from work and chill out, I always watch, always learn something new, plus its hilarious!

Literal luthier gold
DAVE YOU A LEGEND
Those Duncan Designed pickups are fantastic.
I cant thank you enough for teaching me how to handle my instrument. Bahahaha. No seriously though, achieving that comfort level to work on them is so liberating.
This one is Vintage Dave.
Not to be missed.
Nice setup Dave realy like that drawing, have a great weekend!!Cheers
Love my Squire Jazz !
I have a Fender American Jazz , a Fender Aerodyne Jazz ( J & P pickups )
Maybe i play the Squire more because it blows my mind just how sweet it plays and sounds..love.
THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT VID DAVE !!
Liked for "unfuckulate".
Great Bass for the money.
I have one of these and it plays awesome. It is better than my MIM. Jazz bass.
I have that bass. It’s actually really nice once it has a good set up. The stock pick ups aren’t even too bad. Squier isn’t so bad anymore
Is that Squier vintage modified jazz bass?
Хадисов Александр yeah, it's a 70's version
I have the 5string version and absolutely love it! I plan to to put an Audere preamp in it and nothing more.😎
More Great sound from classic vibe 70s JB
Good Job! Keep up the good work!
Buddy is going to freak at how much easier it is to play now. From 9/64 action to 5/64 and the nut from .38 to probably .20 ? Forget about it, speedy easy bass now.
What kind of pickup heights do you like to set as a starting point on a Jazz ?
Update. nvm I just watched your "Fender USA Jazz Bass Part 2" ;^)
awesome..
OMG, i just busted out laughing at "that just got sucked in my computer"!
It's a pretty Squier.
Come on Dave!? 40 seconds to cut to the action????? Don't be that guy.
yeah! reg dave vids. schweet
got another sticker for tool box
Dave you are 100% Hilarious buddy!! Cheers man...

"Unfuckulate this" Killer line!
Drop Z, lol. great video

Michael Roche I know where you're coming from but listening to RUSH snakes and arrows turned me on to a jazz bass + sansamp paradriver combination
You are amazing , taking a total jacked up guitar and making it right. I wish you did not live in Canada. :(
Nice piece of wood.love the maple fretboard is it a player or goootsh wood
Hi Dave,
I want a project. I am looking at customizing a Fender Squier Jazz bass, just like this one. I saw a used one that I may grab. What are your thoughts on shaving the neck, tuning pegs, best bridge, pickup and pre-amp.
Thank you,
its between this and a jag for me, used to ibanez so not sure which one i should get.
"Say a prayer to the Gods of truss rods"
That's my new line whenever someone asks me to set up their guitar.
when the action is "all out, willy nilly", does that point towards a possible twist?
Dude, this Fender Squier teaser trailer got me hyped. It's been almost a year now, when is Fender Squier The Movie coming out?
Drop Z flat sounds better for that "low end."
I had one of those and it had a dead spot in the neck. I got rid of it .
I just got my mits on one of those. Five string, and surprisingly it's very good. £134 on eBay which was a steal as most others like it are going for around £220 to £260.
The intros last sooooooo long
Does anyone know what strings those are?
Might be fender light gauge
DFWTF flat wounds
Ahh I see
Hey, I have one of these and I have tried to set it up a couple of times. What feeler gauge size do you use forthe truss rod adjustment?
Twelve...

suspenders?
I’m enjoying this vid from the get-go: “I was just eatin’ a snack, here....” This dude is okay! LoL Blessings 🤓
Mentioned in another vid of yours, always adjust the neck of jazz bass!! After watching so many of Dave’s vid, it was disconcerting to view from a different angle.
That's a Vintage Modified 70s Jazz. I had one of the newer ones.
No mention (not even in the other comments) of the custom apparently hand-"applied" matte finish? Like several other commenters, I have one of these, and I found it to be pretty good. Maybe some of the fuckulation with this one came with the other modifications.
Cool shirt
I'm getting this bass ;)
you are a funny guy
unfuckulat ion complete!
Drop Z? Sounds like Korn to me.
I bought me one of these brand new for 110.00 and it was pretty much unplayable. I payed for a setup and it was better but still not right so i said fuck it. I thought a jazz bass should have a precision-style split pickup in the middle position?
That's called a PJ bass
The logo intro was so long I almost fell asleep
I have that bass very good bass. If you get one get it set up ASAP! It will be off. Put flats on it and changed the controls to a volume, pan knob a d a tone.

Dave I think you need an i added to the word on your T-shirt 😂

Paddy O'Lantern were one of her frets too high?
the Indonesian hex key? lmfao!
I just had to have the imput jack repaired
0:45...
Hey Dave, just a filmmaking tip, pay attention to your 180 line. The cut from pre-truss rod adjustment to the adjustment was a bit disorienting
If Orson Welles can cross the line in Citizen Kane then Dave can do it too.
I have an american deluxe jazz bass from 2014 and I swear nobody where I live so far knows what they are really doing with setup. I've had it to two places, one of which is a guy that makes guitars and basses for a living. You'd think he would make it right. I just want easy to play low action without a ton of buzz. FUCK!!! Wish I was in Toronto to get Dave to fix this fucker right!
That guitar spent a lotta time leaned against a wall, body people lean it against the body NOT the neck!
Like a car crash... just can't avert your eyes. You can see this blokes mistakes before he even makes them. Vulgar mouth spurting dumb puns, antique buzz words and then you get the stupid 'peace sign' at the end. OMG.
dude, your intro is 45 seconds long
I bought a Squier online , the neck set up was trash
Start your video sooner why do we have to wait 30 seconds?
ask you tube
Is it just me or is the jazz bass in general just bad? I much prefer the p bass
Curtain Poles just you
That's why they make both.
What was that crappy ass 40 seconds of intro? This aint a movie ffs
Thanks for sparing us the boring part of setting up the guitar. Oh wait no, that was the entire boring video.
Thanks for the view.i have a playlist of many setups..go bash elsewhere
