Making a Molded Furniture Drawer Pull

- Опубликовано: 8 янв 2022
- We had a Broyhill vanity with a few broken drawer drop pulls. We tried searching for replacements but it was a fruitless effort so instead we bought a silicone mold kit and a resin kit online. This video shows how to make the drawer pull using a silicone mold and making the resin handle. We added a length of wire into the mold to make the handle strong. We used Smooth-on Universal Mold Release, and Smooth-on Smooth-Cast 320 (which is ultra-low viscosity casing resin). www.smooth-on....
Awesome job! This video will be extremely helpful as I’m in the process of restoring a Victorian dresser with matching high boy and missing a couple of very intricate drawer pulls. Thank you so much!!
Great work! Please keep these videos coming.
Thanks, will do!
Thanks! Finally how to mold my rare MCM atomic handles!
Glad I could help!
Awesome how to. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Qhy couldn't you just weld a new tab on to the broken one?
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, I did try welding the original one but it would melt like wax. I couldn't even braise it with brass rod. It was just soft pop metal.
What is wrong with your sound? Where is the step for filling and placing the pull? How did you get the silicone so smooth? Not good transition for clarity.
Sorry, I'm not very good at youtube. I have experience with silicone from 40 years as a tradesman. I was very messy with silicone when I first used it.
What is the name of the 2 products you mixed together
