- Officer Matthew Bowen was identified as the officer killed in the line of duty in Vacaville Thursday morning.
Bowen joined Vacaville Police Department on June 13, 2023.

Imagine getting in the way of that procession! My heart goes out to the family. Whole family just got their lives thrown upside down out of the blink of an eye.
My God two boys are without their father thanks to the stupidity of someone else. May she spend the rest of her life in prison.

Heartbroken for the young soldier, his family and the entire force. What a loss.
When is this willful carnage of LEOs stop. my goodness if this happened in Australia at the same rate we’d be looking down the barrel as far as numbers of policemen go. I am saddened by this young man’s loss of life. To his wife and children may he Rest in Peace in the Lords arms. Sincere condolences to his wife and children. These are not all Vacaville Officers, a lot of First Responders came to Vacaville for this procession. 💙🖤💙There will be even more at his funeral. (The town of Vacaville has less than 100 officers).
