  • This is video #1 from my old Dirtbagging channel. I am uploading all of my old videos and then deleting the old RUclips channel.
A Valentine's Day recording from a parking lot in Fresno, CA about why I decided to travel and live in my car.

Good on you for not wanting to get stuck in this 9 to 5 BS. Keep that free spirit about you and actually live your life. Don't just be alive. I wish someone had guided me into being more of a free spirit when I was a kid. Nope. I was told to go to school, get a job with benefits, contribute to a 401k, then get sick and die. DON'T DO IT! :-)

Okay so since you're experienced with Georgia, Cali and Colorado I have a question for ya, kind of like my last question. Say I'm living in a tent a few miles out from the city year round, what state/city would you recommend and not recommend for that. Like what state/city do you think you would go to if you were living in a tent considering snakes/spiders/scorpions/mosquitos etc and weather. San Fran seems perfect because year round weather and I'm guessing the pests wouldn't be too bad? I feel like out west would be the best. SanFran/cali vs Colorado vs Georgia/Carolinas vs PacNrthWest for living in a tent? You think the west would be more safe? Any other thoughts? Thanks man!

There's a lot to this question, but I'll attempt to answer in the context you've provided. The PacNW is very wet, I wouldn't want to live in a tent there personally. The southeast U.S. is incredibly humid and mosquitos are INSANE year-round in most places (certainly Georgia). San Fran is a hotspot for people wanting to do this, though most are living in vehicles and not a tent. "A few miles out" from San Fran is still city-like... it never ends in California really, so I'm not sure where you could post up there. Possibly somewhere in Marin County? Colorado seems the most feasible place. The weather is mild most of the time; cold in winter but not freezing, hot in summer but not humid. There is a LOT of land around within a few miles of the city of Boulder and Denver that you could possibly camp on. The trick there would be talking to the land owner and having them OK that. However, there are acres and acres of national forest around you can camp on for free (14 days at a time, then you have to move your camp 1 mile or more). You could do this ever 2 weeks and never leave technically. Hope this helps!

WOW. You're opinion helped a lot. Colorado definitely sounds like the best option now that I think about it. I don't think I'd mind the chilly winters because it'll keep bugs away and I'm used to Michigan winters. When you went to the west from Georgia was the dry climate extremely different/better than humid? Dude Colorado sounds so cool, and legal recreational marijuana is also cool. and moutntains. Thanks!
