Born Bryden Bescenta Craig Wilkins this artist is the epitome of what the roots of reggae is all about without a doubt, Bescenta will rightly take is place in the dance all alongside other reggae greats Bescenta is armed with a barrage of strong and prolific songs to is catalog,he is as refreshing as the rivers running through the cool hills of saint Andrew hills from which he hails.
He is a product of the Salisbury plain district,with the ability to create very socially conscious songs that immediately relate to the conditions and circumstances of the masses. Bescenta was born on April 12,1975.he grew up in the Salisbury plain area close to Stony hill.
He attended Almond hill all age school then went on to Oberlin High and St Andrew Technical high school (S.T.A.T.H.S) in Kingston.
in 2001, Bescenta met recording producer Paul 'computer paul'Henton,who recognize his talent and was prepared to work with him as a solo act.they formed a successful partnership which produced Bescenta's first hit'world in trouble '.this song was entered in the JCDC popular song contest and place second,the song became an anthem for the inner-city youths and Jamaica in general,the people love it because of the message of love and non-violence that it conveyed .
The promotion generated from the competition gave Bescenta the push he needed.The song stayed on the Root FM charts,and won a free music video,this create a buzz which catapulted him into the limelight......he has not look back since.
