People asking to "fight fair" in a strategy game really puzzle me. I understand being upset at very gambly strategy like early all ins cause it can feel like a bit of a waste of time to have games that are decided by the opening before you can get proper information and even when you win it feels like it wasn't a real game that got to properly unfold (I have this issue with super aggro decks in card games). But when it's just like, using your tools available effectively, like having that probe not just sit there but actually cause some minor damage, or exploiting lack of detection with invisible units, it's so strange to see someone get upset at that. I don't think sun tzu was writing stuff like "always engage your ennemies frontally, warning them in advance and only attack if you think they have a chance to win that fight" but to be fair I never properly read the art of war maybe it's very different from what I thought.

15:50 Maybe its just a game of bronze leagues. 1000 MMR difference is basically difference between bronze 3 and bronze 1 on EU :D Maybe the 3300 is just bronze 1 waiting for enought games to be promoted (EU Bronze 1 is up to 2972) and being matched against bronze 3 or bronze 2 (line between bronze 2 and bronze 3 is 2324) yeah, EU bronze is fcked up :D
Often those large MMR gaps are caused by ranked and unranked MMRs being separate. Players have two different MMRs one for ranked play and one for unranked play. However, ranked players and unranked players can be matched against one another. Despite this, the ranked MMR will be displayed in the replays. Often what ends up happening is a player will dislike a matchup, or want to play specific maps, and so will leave games right away when playing unranked in order to try to get the map or matchup they want. This causes their unranked MMR to dramatically fall, leading to these imbalanced matchups. In a sense it is a form of smurfing, though often players are not intentionally trying to smurf. This could be resolved by combining ranked and unranked MMR systems or keeping them entirely seperate, but the weird halfway solution that Blizzard has implimented can lead to these unfortunate situations.
The reason the bronze player and gm player thing happens is blizzard treats the ladder more like a circle. If u keep going up and up and up to rank 1 gm the only thing left is the lowest mmr bronze.
