This was a life saver. I bought a new fountain pen and it came with a few extra things that I had no idea what they were used for or how all of the items went together. Young man was a delight and very charming. He explained so quick and clear I liked to have fallen over. Since I am sure Devine intervention lead me there, I will be buying one of his turned pens for Father Alan, priest at my Church, as he loves fountain pens. Thank you so very much for your kindness and experience.
Thanks! You just cured my ignorance! I got a fountain pen with the pump-like cartridge. Initially I thought the "screw-push" actuator was just to feed the ink once filled, but I did not know you can use it to pump-in the ink. You just saved me from using a syringe. Thanks again!
Super helpful video. My pen came with the pump, but it also works with the disposable cartridges. You helped me to figure it out in less than a minute !!
OMG TYSM FOR THIS VID,I literally just bought a fountain pen and I’m a beginner lol and I didn’t know I was missing ink until I saw this vid it’s so simple and easy the way you demonstrate it and again ty!
I've been in love with fountain pens since childhood in the 1960s when most people didn't use them anymore yet one could still buy attractive "Wearever" ones at the dime store! Recently I bought a beautiful Jinhao clear pen but having mainly older pens, did not know how to use the converter. Dema filled in the missing instruction manual beautifully, for which my sincere thanks! I'm also fascinated by his accent which I would think has E. European roots? Thank you again.
Heh, I bought a pen from Wish without realizing it was a fountain pen. I was trying to figure out the ink cartridge converter, but then you just popped one of the disposable cartridges onto the pen and I realized that the pen came with disposable cartridges too! Thank you for this video.
Thanks for this. I just bought myself a beautiful Cross fountain pen and have never used an ink converter, always cartidges before. This is very useful. Sharon x
Just found an old fountain pen and was wondering how do I use this tool, thanks for the simple demo and explanation and for sorting this confusion out for me.
I was searching around for this topic on YT. My first thought when I saw this video was "Man, that guy REALLY looks like Dema". Thanks for the video. It had confirmed my beliefs that it was a pump of some sort that is with my fountain pen that I just got.
Prefilled cartridges are really handy to have around at work. on busy days you might suddenly run out of ink and you Don't want to risk spillage on your work area using the converter and bottled ink. I always fill my converter before leaving home but I also have a couple of cartridges in my drawer at the office
Like the video I've had fountain ones before and if u dont use them the in drys up and the ones I had didnt work after how do u clean them if that happens
Hello, the pen does not need to be cleaned after every correct use? I mean I can stuff it, use it a couple of times and leave it for a while without using it or the ink can dry and ruin the tip?
the cartridges is so hard you can not squeeze it to bring ink to the nib. what would you suggest to do ? we are trying pliers to lightly squeeze we got a little bit of ink but it does not flow out. please help
HannahGoesBananas Any Fountain Pen ink will work in any Fountain Pen. Not all converters will fit in every pen. ruclips.net/video/tMNxzOFJ5fw/видео.html
+TurkeyGaming I believe the answer is yes most of them. i have had pens that only fit a cartridge and not a pump. i guess you can try it, they are pretty cheap
GeisT22487 I write medium because the nib that comes with there are no definite specs on what size it is. To be honest when i write with my fountain pen at work, its very fine, unless there is even finer i wouldnt know. I really need to look into stocking different nib sized. There just isnt that many people asking about it. Really low demand at this point
***** Thanks for the timely response. I definitely understand if you don't stock up on something that's not in demand. I asked because I am looking into buying my first fountain pen and really liked some of your designs and appreciate quality hand crafted items. I may just get a Japanese fine tip pen and one of your medium tipped pens to get a little variety.

Thank you! I did not know what to do with the twisting one. Had no idea I could just take it out and insert a disposable one.

Very nice video 👍
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks for this informative video 👍
the cartridges is so hard you can not squeeze it to bring ink to the nib. what would you suggest to do ? we are trying pliers to lightly squeeze we got a little bit of ink but it does not flow out. please help
You shouldn't have to squeeze with pliers, email me a picture of the cartridge. Demaswoodshop@gmail.com

ok so I'm new to fountain pens. so it doesn't matter what type of pen you have as long as it's fountain pen ink ?¿
HannahGoesBananas Any Fountain Pen ink will work in any Fountain Pen. Not all converters will fit in every pen.

Very helpful!
what pen did you use?
So if i have a normal fountain pen that uses cartridges I can just buy a converter that is compatible correct?
+TurkeyGaming I believe the answer is yes most of them. i have had pens that only fit a cartridge and not a pump. i guess you can try it, they are pretty cheap
thanks this was very helpful
Thank you soooo much it was really helpfull
my fountain pen came with disposable cartridges, i was thinking of saving them or something. will it dry out over time? thanks! :)
As long as the cartridges are sealed they will last for ever
+Dema's WoodShop Thank you! super helpful. subscribed to ur channel! :)
What should I do if the ink from ink cartridge goes out too thick? Is it because of the nib?
Replace the nid
Thx alot I got so much of help😊😊
The second method is cheaper, right? And can it be used for any kind of pen? Just saying because mine is pretty small.
The bottle is cheaper because you get a lot more refills, as long as your own has an ink pump of some sort you can use that method
***** It doesn't. I thought it could be bought apart from it.
+AngieGandalf6 yes the pump can be purchased separate, I may have a few laying around I can send you.
+Dema's WoodShop Thanks for the offering! But don't worry, I don't want to bother you, I'll look for it myself ^^
Thx 4 taking the time demonstrate
Yea thank you so much for the helpful information?
Thank you the video helped!
Does it need the pen and the converter to be from the same brand???
Svetlozar Velikov No, any converter will work, they are all universal now :)
***** Yayyy!
Any fine tip nib fountain pens on your site? I looked at a few and they were all German medium.
GeisT22487 I write medium because the nib that comes with there are no definite specs on what size it is. Thanks a ton!
All the black ink that you squeezed into the feed was pushed out into the bottle of red ink.
Thank you!

Not sure what India ink is. But worth a try
