- I always loved this song - but the outro lasted far too short, as far as I am concerned. So I prolonged this fascinating tune, especially the glittering guitars in the end. Sorry, Frank, sorry, Kim, sorry especially Joey, if I violated your work in your view. Instead please regard this piece as a tribute of a fan.
So listen to my extended version of "No. 13 Baby", featuring a finish which should never end, but even does in my version.
I consider this ending breathing a musical expression of love, of eternity, of flying high, of this mystical thing what it's all about. Thank you all for sharing my passion.
When I'm having a shitty time, the outro on repeat is a life saver
The Pixies could play live, do No. 13 Baby with an hour long outro, and then walk off the stage. I'd go home happy.
I would pay extra for that gig
Pixies :: No. 13 Baby :: Extended Version (not official) :: with lyrics 1830pm 4.7.24 i heard the band's latest offerings and it seems to have plumped for the more left of centre musical composition... i think even the residents seem to be an influence.... no idea which dudes play in this band these days. maybe they've all gone awol and some anonymous unknown unkinin shysters play the music of the pixies... who knows? ....................good luck!!!!!!! adios. et cetera......................................
My thoughts exactly
@@Kingofstonerrock Comments on ‘Pixies :: No. 13 Baby :: Extended Version (not official) :: with lyrics’ 2136pm 9.8.24 some how i dont think they were. i envisage you stood with your cruddy car thinking to yourself you're the only original person ever to have existed.... as you slam another boring door slam to herald another boring thought.... a savage indictment on society and it's lacklustre future. that's what i was thinking... thinking it about you? nawww; i do not know you, have never met you... how does this happen... thoughts crossing in the night?
Definitely!
yes the outro is one of the best pieces of rock music ever ever created
I thought the fucking same when first listened
Joey and Kim take you to outer space.
@@NormAppleton all of them man. The rhythm of the acoustic and bass, Joey's lead and the drums. It's just perfect.
I remember wanting this kind of extended version years ago. Awesome that others feel the same.
Indeed, only way to describe it.
THIS is my favorite Pixies song...nah, that would be Debaser, no Gouge Away, no Hey...wait, what about Motorway to Roswell and the Happening? The Holiday Song? Caribou? Nimrod's Son? Vamos? Velouria? Bone Machine? Brick is Red? Letter to Memphis? Planet of Sound? Hell, even their Neil Young cover that was only a b-side was amazing! Alright I can't choose!!! It all rocks 🎸
Same! That's why they're my all time fave!!
I’ve heard multiple fans say they don’t really like Down to the Well, but I think that one rocks, too. Is She Weird. Break My Body. River Euphrates. Hell, even some of their 21st century songs are my favorite. Oona, Jaime Bravo. Great band. Shit, Frank Black and the Breeders got some awesome stuff, too.
yeah i think mine too... the end is just supreme that loop keeps going onto infinity ;D
Truth! can't choose
The conversation between the epic bass and the guitar gives me goosebumps
So, it's not just me and the outro...
You have a lot of company
One of us! One of us!
Gooble Gobble. Gooble Gobble.
Absolutely not. Best outro ever
Hell no...
Man I thought I was the only one obsessed with that outro!
i used to come home drunk and listen to stuff. once this song would play i could not listen to anything else afterwards. nothing could rise to the level of excellence at the end of the song. soon i cut out and looped a certain 30seconds of it so i have only the end for about 4 minutes. but this, mane, this is literally heaven. hallowed by thy name breh. if i saw you in the street one day i would give you all my money!! i'm fucking dead serious about it too.
god bless you man!
You can send him all your money through PayPal with the power of the internet now!
I'm the same. as soon as this comes on my playlist, it's the only song I'll listen to all day
Tldr: best.outro.evar
I got your 90s right here in the pixies.
Nailed it
To all of is who fell in love with this band, this record, this song, and this part of the song in particular, thank you. Iv always been a massive fan of that ending and never wanted it to end. So hypnotic. Joey Santiago, my guitar god.
The thing I love about Joey is his humility. He never tries to run out in front and take over the spotlight that I have ever seen. He never tries to take over the band, he just is like, "dude, let me play, and leave me the hell alone." He brought such a different sound to the guitar. The Pixies could play rhythm so well together. That bass just sounds so good. I don't know why so few bands showcased the bass, but it seems like the ones that did were pariahs and not front runners, for example Primus.
💯
please remove this from youtube as i am playing it about 4 or 5 times a day and NOT GETTING ANYTHING DONE! oh, just pressed replay by accident ....
That's only 28 to 35 minutes out of your day. You'll have to find some other excuse for your unproductivity during the rest of the day :)
Dude
Fucking rad!!
I did this ages ago with a cassette from cd. Record, pause, rewind cd, cue up and record, repeat. I dragged it out to 6 minutes or so. Choppy but not bad. Yours? Seamless. I just zoned out big time. Wish I had a joint. I'd be on the roof right now puffing away.
Seriously man, great fucking job
Thanks for doing this and sharing with all the rest of us freaks
im sittin on my porch with a bong n 3 grams, life dont get any better
✊
Do like a 10 hour version. I'd be all about that.
the break is banging... i loved it when i was 16 and I love it now (40/yo)
@@crystalsdomain777 same here!
I'd happily spend all night listening to it!
Seriously, this needs to be done.

I'm 52 (going on for 53 this month actually ) Been listening to them for a wee while longer.
Do I win a prize or something ... ???
Anyone else able to listen to this song continue forever? heh
Thanks for doing this by the way!
I’ve just done that for the last hr!
It's a shame when it ends! I know what your talking about.

Y0gs Especially when it’s a good one hell yeah! This will always be a classic takes me back to my 12-year-old years LOL I still listen to this day and I’m almost 43
How hasn’t this outro been used in the ending of a film yet? Can totally hear it being the soundtrack to a scene where everything just falls into place and concludes the film perfectly P.S. yes this is the greatest outro of all time
I’m an aspiring filmmaker and I plan to change that
I rate the outro on this song right up there with the outro on the Cars Dangerous Type! Absolutely phenomenal.
Yeap. They will steal our idea one day 😂
"Albert souffre" , a french movie with manies pixies's song . But you 're thinking about "Fight"club" with Brad Pitt with " where is my mind " at the end .
Thank you Frank, Joey, Kim, Dave. I’m in a state.
I'm in a state.
Michael Nangle sorry to hear that
I'm in Washington State.
@@BlGGESTBROTHER LMFAO!
This is my all time favourite Pixies number. Remember in the real early nineties I used to play it coming home from work on Fridays to get in the mood for the weekend. Would play it over and over just to hear the outro. Thanks for doing this, it's what the track always needed.
I could listen to this all day long. I mean allll day long.
4 years later feeling the exact same thing... This will never get old!
The best extended version of any song ever. Perfect for repeat listening while driving cross country.
Still too short lol, I could listen to that outro for hours
We were 2boys and 2 girls from Germany, all of us 18years old. Waiting in Genes for the ferry to Sardegna. Summer 1989 never forget, when we heard Doolittle again and again due of a delay of 6 hours
Im heard for the first time in 92, i listen today and, i love this albun, for me pixies, are one of the best bands ever play!!!
Sweet. One of the greatest endings ever.
Yeah, it's up there with this, stunning.
ruclips.net/video/7W7Jgl3hn-I/видео.html
the last 1:51 of the original i could listen to for hours, thank you for doing this, its amazing
Agreed. All the great comments are so nice to read. I've had the outro as my ringtone for 15 years. Starts off with the bass and drums, and Joey kicks in for two bars before it loops.
Is there a song with a better outro??? I think not
kills it in 2019!! and now in 2020!! 2022...SOUNDING PRETTY GOOD AS WELL!! EARGASMIC in 2023!! Bloody Brilliant in 2024!!
The guitar. I don't know why, but I think of this as "spy" music because of that guitar. Kim's bass adds a perfect accent. Life without Breeders? I think not! I'm gonna drive on 9 outta here. Later.
Anthem to my 14 day coronavirus isolation 😂
Take care of yourself and those who you love!

What an amazing job you've done! I've always wanted this tune to be longer, thx dude.
Why have I not found this before? Great job; I always come back to this outtro - sometimes I even skip the rest of the song (sacrilege, I know, but still...) - and I've always wished it would just go on. I makes me feel like when I was a kid, spreading my arms out on the bike, flying.
Love your comment, thank you so much. And your comparison is brillant: flying free, the world is nothing but yours. Appreciate so many nerds loving this tune as much as I do ;-)
This is awesome, I saw them in concert 2 years ago and they prolonged it too . . . Great piece . . . Nice work!
Now making this extended version is actually making America great again. (Ironically we wouldn't have this song without latin influence)
I'm Latino. Build the wall. Liberals are cancer.
Kasos 2018 all all all, no one said “all”, and in true brainwash fashion, you forgot the word “illegal”
Oh, my dear american friends - I do appreciate that apparently there is still love and kindness left in your fascinating country. Please hold on, the world needs your partnership and friendship. You taught us Europeans what democracy is all about after WW II - especially me and my german forefathers . Please remain the country I always admired as the free, the democratic, the innovative. The world needs you.
Can I get 10,000 subs for no reason 2018
Dude, prove it.
Btw: you can’t use the following:
“I have a feeling”
“I just know”
“Because I said so”
“It’s obvious”
Gonna need actual proof
@@MrGenedancingmachine Trump has scorned Puerto Ricans before and did little to help even San Juan in their biggest times of need despite the fact they're annexed with the U.S. Who is he to claim the severity of the hurricanes? Also, a wall is not the answer. Have you forgotten that planes exist? Part of the reason why the Hoover Dam (much smaller than a theoretical wall) became so renowned is because of its cost! A wall would have an enormous impact on taxes. I thought you guys were supposed to be Republicans. Along with the fact that Trump constantly spends millions on bills, it proves that he doesn't even care about his own platform! If I remember correctly, he once spent over a billion on a bill he didn't even read. I mean none of this in disrespect, at least we both agree the Pixies are gods?
This album influenced all alternative bands of the 90s.
Reminds me of my favorite friend who is no longer in this world. May God protect you and yours Peter D. Ward .
Extend tame for the love of god
Who's listening to this in 2023? Those who love Rock & Roll!
no complaints here, best ending ever! another great outro.. deerhunter desire lines..
@@VV-pr1fk PDA is the best outro I've ever heard
@@Jerry-rm9pkgreat shout
extending the outro is you giant mash potato mountain moment...close encounters of the pixies kind..i heard about a guy in Cleveland who's been busking the outro riff outside a walmart, 24/7's for the last 2 years straight..a 22 stone woman in hot pants was walking past eating a donut and started to sway from side to side to the hypnotic beauty, ended up dropping 13 stone after 3 months of continual swaying and now owns her own chain of fat busting bootcamps, called 13 sway baby!..fucking miracle...............
what the fuck
Nice
And that's why you have to take drugs to create good work.
That outro is musical marijuana
@@anemicpeasantry7698 The outro was heavily copped by Superchunk (a big time Pixies protege) when they recorded "White Noise"
@@anemicpeasantry7698 The guitar solo in White Noise is similar to Gigantic as well. Big time Pixies influence.
I hate how they save some of the best parts for the outro ... Leaving you feeling robbed of something
From 2:00 onward it's the sonic equivalent of small town ennui imo. Or maybe it's just me associating it with my childhood growing up in a small town. Irregardless, it's fucking genius.
Unlike the word 'irregardless' which isn't ha ha
Greatest outro of all time, as others have said. One of my favorite songs off one of my favorite albums of all time, and certainly the best Pixies album. As great as Surfer Rosa was, Doolittle was their most seminal effort, a culmination of everything that made the Pixies one of the most influential bands of all time.
Two more good outros: No Fiction by The Charlatans and Failures by Joy Division. Go forth and seek!
And Happening by Pixies
When I listen to the dreamy end of Desire Lines by Deerhunter, I wonder if Bradford was inspired in any way by No 13 Baby.
definitely a purposeful reference..
Thought the exact same thing
Well, that one was composed by Lockett Pundt (a.k.a. Lotus Plaza), not Bradford Cox.
First time I heard Desire Lines, I fell in love bc it reminded so much of this (subliminally). But it actually isn’t composed by Bradford, but by Lockett (who sings the lead vocals on it as well).
Agreed that both outro are pure gems
This song could play forever, and I would never get tired of it.
Thanks. I've been haunted by this outro for a long, long time. Thought it was just me.
I've always felt this song could be longer. I could listen to this just for Kim Deal's bass licks alone. Great job!
I want brown eyes Ricaaaa!!! 🎶🎶🎶
I need a 2 hour version of the outro. I'm serious. I don't want it to end ever.
Best comment ever

Thanks! Well done.
I will never forgive myself for always skipping this one. That second half outro gotta be the best thing ever recorded
{{{BIG ASS HUG}}} ❤ You found the spot!!! It’ll never be the same either ~ enjoy forever
I'm commenting just in the case of no one has already said this is the best music history's outro
This song gives me chills.
Right now in this moment all is perfect in the world. Doolittle is 30 (30!) years old today. And I've just discovered my favourite Pixies has been improved in the only way a Pixies song could ever be improved, by adding more of it... And now it's finished so I need to hit replay again... Scuse me while I spend the rest of the day in a Pixies induced trance of music and weird memories.
We need to have a national “Frank Black” day.
International.
Love love love la la LOOOVE THIS!!!!
One of the greatest songs in existence. Just writing a song like this must be a trip in itself!
This whole song is amazing but that outro and when i first heard it immediatly made me think of Jay Reatard... The outro part that is... I feel as if Jay was hugely influenced by these guys as were alot of bands/humans and im one of them FOR SURE! The Pixies are just like no other! *Edit 2 a.m. I’m in a state...
Always wondered how a dude from Boston (Charles) can write a song about the ese-vato-cholo-pachuco life. The other day I find that he lived for a time in So Cal. Orale, vato!
Beautiful! Can't describe the feeling each time I listened to this outro. Gives me hope to keep going. Thank you.
you deserve a medal, friend
I’d forgotten how superd this band are.
Tum, tum tum
Tum, tum tum
Tum, tum tum

can you make another one but with the last 20 seconds extended with the extra guitar that starts but fades out with the end of song? PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE
fckin love it
Just to say thank you, if there's ever a song to chill out to with a glass of Bourbon after a hard day, What ever your hard day has been it's this song, the outro is soo epic! Just chills me, awesome song!
Sweet! I always play it again in my car.
As loud as it goes!!

TY for this, the utterly exquisite outro of this always left me gasping for more and it's easily one of my all time favourite musical moments ever not just of the glorious Pixies.
you just prolonged my teeeenage , thanks!
You're doing God's work my friend
OBRA DE ARTE
From the 2 minute mark until the end of the song: I think this is some of the greatest jamming around. Something about it completely elevates the spirit, and by the 4 minute mark, transcends. It really is my favorite part of the song, the last bit. Amazing work here.
I've been upstaaate, iiiiveee beeen upstaaate
The outro is why I listen to this song. Brilliant
Superb song!
This one, plus I always dug the outro to "Motorway to Roswell"
Definitely, "The Happening" outro is pretty dope, too.
Something about going from a fairly violent song, or at least obscene one, into this Zen-like trancy melodic fade out that I've always loved about "No. 13 Baby"
Frank does in "Los Angeles " as well.
I keep coming back to this perfection.
ADOREI, sensacional, ficou muito bom, meus parabéns
Started listening not knowing it was an extended version..I knew something was off. Saved me from sliding the bar back 5 times. Words cannot express the beauty of that outro. Incredible!
This is better than getting blown.
Tracey Pistorio ehhhhh Maybe? Lol
are u a like y know um transgeder?
Ive always loved the Pixies dynamic of incorporating lead electric with a really strong accoustic accompaniment. Similar, but better than(IMO) of the Violent Femmes.
Teh bass and drum part at 2:22 or so on let it ride by dinosaur jr should be extended by at least a minute or two. show me you can do it!
God I love Pixies so fucking much I can't describe it!
I can’t get enough of the BASS on this album.
Kim :)
You're a genius for putting this together. My only complaint about the Pixies was this ending was too short. Well done
Simply eargasmic!!
This is a great proof of concept - if only you could get them to record it for real!
The last part of this song made this one of my fav Pixie songs, been listening to then forever and never knew THIS EXISTED!!🤯🤯
this is literally better than sex
brilliant why did no one think of this before?
I'm not alone! Thank you! I have always LOVED this outro; my favourite Pixies moment - unusual for their stuff. I like the silvery guitars at the end of Sad Punk too.
OMG, thank you! I have been obsessed with the outro for decades. My favorite song by Pixies. I would drive from California to Oregon blasting this song over and over (not easy on a cassette). Great job!
39 grandmas didn't bring any songs from the shore
clicking every thumbs up i see on this page cuz this is awesome and youre all awesome too
me too!!!
super job mia amigo! my fave pixies song and way too short at the end, just as joey's really getting going! tell you a story, me and a few others - very loud and talkative folk - just finished dinner and someones put doolittle on for sounds, then this comes on, then the outro then all 5 of us sat round the table, not a word until the end, then a collective 'yeah.' if i could go back and play them this, they would be quiet for longer, then oh 'yeah.' thanks.
My dream came true!
Thanks! Thank you SO MUCH for this!
You're doing god's work! Cant say how many times I wanted the outro to be longer. Thanks.
OMG this is truly amazing - we all wanted this. How does that first part become that second part????? This is truly the magic of Pixies.
I cant say this is my favorite track cos thats like picking your favorite child ( if your a parent) soooooo many great songs.
Back in 91 I got the chance to see them in The Duchess of York in Leeds and I passed. Then they split. Finally saw them in 2005 in Manchester with my 1st two lads ( aged 12 and 9 at the time) seen them many times since and with my daughter in Plymouth before Covid and in Castlefield bowl in2022. The fact their songs still inspire kids to pick up instruments, play music or just look more left field than whats on the radio is amazing. The songs are timeless, the music so amazing and their presence on the live circuit brilliant.
Never thought I would hear Brick is red live.
Thought Toe in the Ocean was OK - then I saw them play it live in the Hammesmith Apollo now its a favourite.
As an aside we were on the upper balcony and people asked us to sit down!!!!! I replied are you for real this is Pixies lol then this guy asked if he could stand / dance with us as he was on his own and he'd traveled from Spain just to see them - how could we refuse :)
PERFECT!!!! The dance remix version Just what i've been hoping for!!! Thank You!!
FANTASTIC! This is going straight in my faves. I've loved that outro for decades and always been disappointed by how short it is... you've created a beautiful thing and it shows off Kim and Joey so much it's wonderful.
"Pixies are not my thing!", I say to myself and now I am involuntarily scuba diving into them.
I love the outro so much
