You do realize a mouth guard worth 5 bucks ain’t gonna do a damn thing. A decent one to prevent your teeth from being knocked out are at least 30 and in order to actually be able to fight properly you’ll be spending 60+ easily

Hundreds of times I have used a $5-$10 mouthguard because I lost mine or forgot it and had to buy/use what they had available and I have NEVER had anything bad happen.
@@turdferguson- I have always used cheap mouthgurads aswell... HOWEVER, I now have my first custom made one.. it was expensive. But it doesn't fall out and really grips tight on the teeth. It's easier to talk, breathe and drink water while wearing it. In case you didn't try it yet. I seriously recommend it

@rman229 it's more to not get knocked out or bite in your tongue/teeth getting smashed together. Also you don't wanna get hit with your mouth open etc because that's a great way to get your jaw broken

I’m a dentist who also have been sparring since I was a kid and based on my experience and all the broken teeth from marines I’ve treated from fights, if you get jabbed that lightly with gloves on and broke a tooth, chances are it was already compromised. This one broke off right at the cemento enamel junction it looks like. Probably had a cavity built up around there already or loss of structure already. Teeth are surprisingly very durable and can take a considerable amount of force, so yeah a mouth guard will definitely help but not in replacement of good oral health.
To have noticed that in the moment too. I watched this so many times back and still don't see the tooth leave. At some points I see it on the way to the ground, but that's wild to notice such a small detail while essentially protecting your life.

This is why I don't want to spar hard in muay thai, just spent a lot of money fixing broken teeth I broke in childhood. Don't want any more dental issues lol that and my nose bleeds easily
