    Thanksgiving Edition:
Cooking with Lauralee Homemade Thanksgiving Ham Glaze Recipe
-Cook for 10 on medium to medium-low. Taste and add whatever seasonings you will like. I do not add any salt because the ham is salt enough for me.
    2 TBSPS Key Lime Juice
    ½ Cup Maple Syrup
3 Heaping Tablespoons of Grey Poupon
½ to 1 TBSP Garlic Powder
9 lbs. Hardwood Smoked - Shank Portion (family's favorites)
½ to 1 Cup of Chicken Stock/Kitchen Basic - My favorite for thanksgiving but any brand will do.
My favorite syrup to cook with especially for Thanksgiving, but could not find it last year, but I have my syrup this year. It can be pricey at times, but I think it is worth it every once in a while.

Hardwood Smoked Hams (instructions from the Smithfield website)
    www.smithfieldmarketplace.com...
    1. Heat oven to 325 degrees F. Remove all packaging materials and place ham on its side, fat side up, on rack in shallow roasting pan; cover loosely with aluminum foil.
    2. Heat approximately 15 to 20 minutes per pound until heated through.
    3. Remove ham from oven and let stand, covered, 20 minutes before serving for whole hams, or 10-15 minutes before serving for half hams.
    Glazing Ham
Remove ham from the oven when heated through. Increase oven temperature to 400 degrees F. Uncover ham, brush or spoon on your glaze over ham surface. Return to oven, uncovered, and heat 10 minutes.
Check out Food Safety.gov for more information on how to cook the different ham. They have a cooking chart.
    For more encouragement: Happy Thanksgiving!

"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name." Psalm 100:4
As always, make it your own and have fun. Be inspired, be great, kind, and cook yummy food! Happy Thanksgiving!

I need prayers this year. I just recovered from Lyme disease and am newly divorced and trying to find a good place to live that accepts cat’s and this year I’ll be spending Christmas at work instead of with my siblings
I’m grateful to have a job but it’s a little depressing to not be with family
I’m going to try out your recipe for the ham I’ll be making for the disabled people at the place where I work

Hey @veronicapower661! I hope you had a Merry Christmas! I'm sorry for all that you are going through, but please know I I will be praying! Sometimes, the greatest spiritual and personal growth comes from tough situations! Seems like you are tough. You have a lot going on, and yet you are taking the time to serve others. God bless you, and I pray that 2024 will be your best year yet until 2025 and so on! I hope it went well. I believe in you and cheering for you!

The glaze looks very nice. I used to make ham for Thanksgiving but now I prefer to make salmon or shrimp. Nice recipe.
