For all the people who absolutely have no idea and need context:
The man's wife was betrayed by the Nhagas, a snake race, and was killed and eaten alive right in front of him. Ever since he'd been eating all the Nhagas he can lay his eyes on. He's completely consumed by vengeance.
There are 4 races in this world: Human, Nhaga, Tokebi, Rekkon.
Nhaga is a tree-loving snake race whose physiology works much like a reptile. They are cunning and is waging war on the other 3 races.
Tokebi is like Korean Oni. But they're playful and sweet. They can fly on their pet beetles. 😊 (the beetles are huge)
Rekkon is a rooster race. They're strong, persistent, noble warriors.
Each race has a goddess that watches over it.
Now, the actual story will be less about this killing/cannibalism spree but more about the man finding a way to travel with a Nhaga, a Tokebi and a Rekkon to save the world after the goddesses have gone missing.
The whole book is like 1500 pages long so this trailer is just a little part of the story. I wish they made better trailer with some story or context for people who hadn't been obsessed with the series for last 20 years 😢

Damn, this is one of the best fantasy novel of my life. Very proud of myself to say that i have all collections of the writer Young-do Lee's. Novel's names are "The bird that drinks tear" and "The bird that drinks BLOOD". It's like a Korean version of the Witcher I think... hope to see the real game in the future.

Fun facts of nhagas in 눈물을 마시는 새.
A nhaga is basically a lizardman without heart. Once they become adult their hearts are pulled out and stored in jars and somehow this ritual makes them barely killable. But if the jar in which a heart is breaks, the owner of that heart dies. Those who refuse to pull their heart cannot be protected by their houses anymore (unless you are noble female) and so will be hunted down to death.
Nhagas cannot really see things like other races see, they instead sense the temperature: hotter a thing is, brighter they see it. For example they see complete darkness facing a river.
Nhagas have their own way to communicate called NYRUM 니름. They think speaking is inferior form of communication, while humans think their voice is heavenly.
They cannot survive cold. That's why the first racial war was set. Their jungle couldn't spread more because of the weather... for now.
Voice acting is on point. Trailer looks engaging. Graphics: outstanding. Criticism: I wonder if the story is as good as all the above.
It's based on a very famous novel which I read multiple times and loved it. I'm more worried if everything else wouldn't match up against the story.

The game can never hope to live up to the story. It is one of the most addicting and intriguing journeys I've ever read. It stuck with me for months after I finished it and I had an empty hole of which I could find nothing similar to fill it. I doubt this game will come close but from what I have seen, this is a very small snippet of a much larger, more intricate story and it's pretty accurate (his wife was betrayed by Nhagas and killed/eaten alive in front of him and now he lives to slaughter every one he can find) so hopefully they can do it justice.

The male character is Kagan Draka from the novel. He hunts the Nhaga, an aggressive people of hunters. And, due to the fact that the Nhaga are immortal after a certain ritual, he has to be very sophisticated in disposing of their bodies. Yes, he does eat them.

If it's Hell, indicate that. All they have done here is establish a vicious scenario where everyone is suffering. With Excellent graphics. and production quality. Hard to do. Still not enough. It's a Herculean task to get anyone's attention for more than a few minutes, much less make them want to come back. Unless you're some freakazoid who loves torture porn, you're not coming back for a second look. So all the seriously gorgeous production quality is not closing the deal. This is an elevator pitch for a product. They need the viewers to come back.

I read the whole series of ‘The bird that drinks tear’ and this is the story of Kagan Draka, one of the main characters of the books.
Long story short, the man’s wife who was everything to him was killed and eaten right in front of him by a bunch of nhagas. After that incident, he pledged to himself to kill and eat every single nhagas so that he can take literally ‘everything’.
That’s why those nhaga scouts were brutally(yet rightfully for him) murdered.
Is there any specific reason as to why he eats the Naga? Do they give him powers? Or special abilities?
EDIT - Or is he just subjugating them to the same painful death his wife had to go through?
Further spoiler wise, I won't give you the specifics but eating naga made him live longer than normal human kind. Still the main reason he eats nagas is that of the vengence for his wife. A pain for a pain.@@Gemini053
