Cheers from Texas! 🤟😺🤟 It's been a minute :) I'm finally refinishing my Tacoma Jumbo acoustic. ...they have/had frequent lacquer problems... Going with an oil finish. Perfect timing! Always learning. Happy and excited for you; to see this wrapping up. Peace
Lovely work, Ben! I'm looking forward to hearing it. I've heard the Backpacker sound is lacking, but this larger box might be the ticket to a bigger sound. Of course, the hand-craftsmanship is another plus. Glad to see you revisiting this one!
It is nice to see a finish on the wood and what your engraving is going to look like. I can't wait to see you build the bridge and string it up. Ben, I know you have a business to run (several in fact), but I miss seeing you design and build guitars, timely and in sequential episodes.
Very Very cool Ben, You are amazing👍👍👍 I have been useing Tru-Oil for refinishing gun stocks for over 35yrs, I don’t know how long the guitar industry has been useing it for a finish. But you are correct about wearing gloves during use it’s a must . 🎸🎹🎼👨🏻🦯👨🏻🦯
Just finished a guitar with the Guitar finishing oil for the first time. What a revelation. Easiest finishing job ever, and coloured the timber up perfectly. After 15 years of nitro, i will never use anything but this for a satin finish again. Thanks Ben for making my life easier.
Out of all the instrument I have seen you build this is definitively the one I would like to have 👏👏👏 Would love make a kit-version of this my first adventure into a full guitar build
Nice to see this finally coming together (eventually!). Only thought is, if I had been building this, I would definitely have incorporated a piezo or two in the process, and had a jack socket/strap button. Would be a nice instrument to be able to amplify, as well as play acoustically. Would have also added a piezo buffer/preamp externally, like you get with the Sire acoustic guitars. So as to not have to locate any controls on the guitar, by having them in a belt/strap style box.
I absolutely love this instrument! Really looking forward to hearing it being played! Love the videos you make, love the tools and materials you make/sell and the guitars you build and all the processes you demonstrate too! Can’t wait for the museum to open, we’ll be down like a shot! 🥰🥰🍷🍷🎸🎸
I truly enjoy watching you do this intricate work. It reminds me of the importance of being patient and letting the process work itself out. There is no substitute for trusting the process. This is very therapeutic in many ways...Cheers!
Love joining your project so close before the end :) honestly I'd always get a "test string -up" in, and lie to myself that I'd get them off again for proper finishing. I have no patience.
That instrument is turning so gorgeous. Really really beautiful! It belongs in the Dorset museum (so if one day I can get to go there I can play it hahaha)
Hi Ben! What a joy to stumble across your channel and what incredible work you do. A superb mix of artistic talent and extremely skilled craftsmanship. Salut to you good man! Kind regards, Roger Hawkins
Unfortunately I live in the States, but I would love to take classes at Crimson Guitar. Hell, I'd volunteer to just sweep the floors for an excuse to watch.
Ben, this has been a superb project. I'm watching it in March 2023. I'm wondering what it looks like and what it sounds like after this episode. It's a bit frustrating being left up in the air on this one. John Warner, Murrumbateman, NSW, Australia
Haha I love these 365 one day builds😁😁. I was wondering how you were going to do the carvings. Epoxy, shell, copper…ect. But I really like the idea that you chose. It’s given me an idea for an old 1980’s chibson Flying V that I’ve stripped and want to practice some inlay work on. Thanks Ben!
Hands down my favorite builder around. You can't help but love this guy. And where do I get those killer scalpel handles and blades?? I don't think xacto will do that. I need to mark out some cloud inlays... Unless I'm just going to go at it with the smallest router bit freehand.
I got so engrossed in this series of videos and watched them over 3 days. I panicked when I couldn't find the conclusion when you complete and play the guitar. After scouring your channel and RUclips for over an hour I realise you haven't completed it yet! Phew! So get a move on the suspense is killing me.🏁
Finally FINALLY 😂 I've loved every moment of this build and it looks fantastic. Side note, is that the Panormo in the background...finished? Vids soon?
I can understand oil finishing for an electric guitar, but for an acoustic... Does it not kill the vibrating ability of the wood? Very nice guitar by the way!
You've started two new companies during this build? (GreatGuitarGiveaway and vintage tool auction thingy). Is this the new unit of Ben-estimation? "How long will the Kauri build take?" 0.5 crimson companies.
With the designs I think it would look much better if one set of lines stopped at the next then continued from the other side, so it appeared that one band went beneath the other?
Why is Tru-Oil dangerous? Mr grandpa swears by it and has been using it on his gunstocks forever, so I sanded my strat neck gloss off and put 6 lite coats of Tru-Oil. Best feeling neck I've ever tried.
Amazing. I love your experimental but experienced approach to building guitars. It’s like winging it but with expertise.
Ben when you going to do live build from your home work shop again as I miss the laughs and most of all the lessons and skill you bring to us
There's something really wholesome about building an instrument from a single piece of wood or from a single tree!
this is hands down my favourite of all the instruments you've built. it's absolutely stunning, i can't wait to see how it finally turns out!
The grain patterns of the wood really come out with the oil finish as well as the cuts you added to the guitar. Looking very good Ben.
The finish really made the wood come alive
Wow. Finally finishing it. That must be so satisfying. That has got to be one of the most beautiful fence posts in the world.
I think so too!
Oh, the An-tic-i-pation! Made my day to wake up to this.
So close to the finish that we can practically taste it! Very much looking forward to hearing how this instrument finally sounds
This has to be the prettiest guitar you’ve documented in a video series. Excellent demonstration on minimising waste too!
Looks beautiful Ben ! That grain sure POPS now ! At least you didn't stain it !! Lol
Cheers from Texas!
🤟😺🤟

I really like your "trick" for filling the pores by sanding with the oil finish.

Putting on the finish is my favorite part. It is the lightning bolt that brings Frankenstein's monster to life.
Seeing this come together makes me really want to see what you could do with a mandolin or mandola! Great work on this one, Ben. I am a HUGE fan
Out of all the instrument I have seen you build this is definitively the one I would like to have 👏👏👏
Would love make a kit-version of this my first adventure into a full guitar build
"kit" = fence post?
Scoring the decorative stuff really worked out well!
There is no better site than giving well sanded wood a drink of oil!!

Seeing something simple like a box turned into a beautiful guitar just makes me want to try it myself.
Being an acoustic guitar player, this is making me salivate. I love beautiful wood. I will draw my 401k to buy this :) Can't wait to hear it.!
a year in a day, a day in a year - whichever, great build!
I absolutely love this instrument! Really looking forward to hearing it being played!

I am not a luthier but I use your „set“ of guitar finishing oils for m knife handles. Amazing stuff.
I love your finishing oil, I bought some from you and it does an amazing job. Definately one of my favourite parts of any build
I truly enjoy watching you do this intricate work. It reminds me of the importance of being patient and letting the process work itself out. There is no substitute for trusting the process. This is very therapeutic in many ways...Cheers!
Yes! I can’t tell you how much I look forward to these videos.
Excellent work man 👍👍👍
Wow, is that you Ben? Great, I’ll send my bank details and my Mam’s maiden name right away!
You should use a block to sand with as your fingers are not flat and you should also sand in a back and forth motion and you are creating swirls.
That carving. Love how it’s really come to life with the oil. Subtle but seriously high quality. Love it!
My thoughts exactly.
Fantastic. Really love this guitar. Your camera work and editing is top notch these days. Well done Ben and team.
I am in love with this guitar. The design is amazing. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Speaking of tools I bought a plow plane with wood screw adjustment stamped Caldwell Baltimore its my new favorite tool
Finally, the longest running build on the channel returns!
I check RUclips notifications everyday hoping to see the next episode of this 😍its just stunningly beautiful !
Guitar looks gorgeous already, Ben. Really looking forward to seeing it completed.
I'd love to see you do some Scandinavian designs using Kolrosing. That would look awesome!
The carved lines look stunning Ben sets the whole thing off , Awesome buddy 😁😁🤘🤘🤘
Backpacker extraordinaire
What a thing of beauty! Can’t wait to hear it!
The finished guitar is almost finished?!?! Cool bananas!!
Thank you… closure at last!! And worth the wait!
Great to see some building content again!
This is like me. Started a build seven years ago now... high time I finished it haha
Love joining your project so close before the end :) honestly I'd always get a "test string -up" in, and lie to myself that I'd get them off again for proper finishing. I have no patience.
Looking great. Next one day build to drag out for a year could be a Diddley Bow?.
That instrument is turning so gorgeous. Really really beautiful! It belongs in the Dorset museum (so if one day I can get to go there I can play it hahaha)

Your design looks like something from the dwarves in lord of the rings it's awesome

Have fun and I hope you'll show us your work when it's done.
I love this build Ben. Somewhat surprised I don't see more branding from you for detailing or your own BC logo.
Keep it up.
By branding I mean hot iron, not Crimson logos!
I'll take mahogany (or a variant) over walnut any day. I love the rich depth of color. Finish looks stunning on this guitar. Thanks for sharing!
I have been waiting for this episode.
The guitar looks gorgeous after just one coat.
Can't wait for the next episode :)
Us too!

Shots fired at tru-oil 😂
Was worth the wait ! Nice engraving Ben
Ben's new intro, everything is slippy when covered in oil... burn it 🔥 🤣🤣🤣
Oh no I've reached the end of the playlist, I was sure I had given it enough time 😂😂

The Triton add hits different in this one
Gawd I love the look of Mahogany
That's a beautiful instrument. The way the engravings popped out under finish was... unexpected. I just want to hear what it sounds like.
Coming along so nicely, look forwards to seeing it done.
You and me both!
Yay! Guitar making!
the guitar looks lovely and i love how the finish looks. would have loved to seen a shellac finish tho
The colour change when you applied the oil was stunning. p.s. your oil comment made me laugh 🤣
Sure hoping we get to see this finished, along with the Kouri and SG guitars. :
I really like the look of that!
Keep em coming Ben! At your current progress I reckon you could stretch this one to what September? 😊
😂😂😂
This is absolutely beautiful!!
Finally FINALLY 😂 I've loved every moment of this build and it looks fantastic.

Very nice guitar by the way!
It's coming along , looks good :)
Amazing work!
Love this build!
My god man still waiting for the next episode
Outstanding. Very very nice.
I'm sitting here impatiently waiting for the next episode.....
i love this guitar!
The way the perfel...perfi... design pops when the oil is applied is tres mendous
When are we going to see the next episode in this series?
It will be finished - just not sure of timeline. DC
@Crimson Custom Guitars - this method of grain filling - can Shellac be used instead of the oil?
You've started two new companies during this build? (GreatGuitarGiveaway and vintage tool auction thingy). Is this the new unit of Ben-estimation?
"How long will the Kauri build take?"
0.5 crimson companies.
When are the next episode coming of the only hand tool build ?
I can't seem to find episode 16/17 of this build. Any info would be appreciated
Afternoon Ben......so....when do we get to see and hear the final instrument? 🙃
Hand tool only classical guitar build next? 😁
loved this series...is it finished???
ben great work
With the designs I think it would look much better if one set of lines stopped at the next then continued from the other side, so it appeared that one band went beneath the other?
todavia no la termino? noooo me quede con las ganas de verla armadita y sonando
Why is Tru-Oil dangerous? Mr grandpa swears by it and has been using it on his gunstocks forever, so I sanded my strat neck gloss off and put 6 lite coats of Tru-Oil. Best feeling neck I've ever tried.
Another Saturday Morning I wake up, hoping for another update to this guitar build. Alas, I remain dissapointed.....
Yes baby
Took you feicken forever 😊
