I BUILT SAW: The Ride, Out of K'nex - K'nex Roller Coaster Recreation

- Saw: The Ride Opened in 2009 as the worlds first horror movie themed roller coaster. At the time of opening Saw: The Ride featured the worlds steepest drop on the a roller coaster in the world. This record has since been beaten.
This project took around 5-6 weeks and features a custom 3d printed k'nex roller coaster train. and custom black tubing for the track. made and sent to me by @BasicFunToys Big shout out to Jon from K'nex for getting custom colours for the k'nex roller coaster tubing specially made for me for me last few projects!.

Holy crap man, your build is insane! I am a huge Saw fan, its been my favourite horror film series since I was 14! When I went to Thorpe Park for a school business trip back in 2010 I had never been on a roller coaster before, I was terrified to go on anything until I saw SAW. I knew I had to go on it and boy was it exciting! Seeing this knex build has brought back that memory of my first ever roller coaster ride so thank you! You've done an incredible job!

A really weird and underrated layout. One of the best Eurofighters overall. Its a bit rough and jerky at times, and very cramped, but when you figure out how to ride it (head forward, fight the positives, stay strong) its a really punchy ride that fits the theme.
Watching this while my ham and bacon bake cooks in the air fryer, lovely watch

I will release all my train files eventually through my channel membership. But I need to make the videos showing how to use and print them. Once it's done I'll release them

That is very good, maybe the first drop (inside one) could be steeper like the ride but everything else looks perfect 👏🏻

@coastercrazy10 unfortunately at the moment no. My contact at knex was able to get me custom tubing! And I was very greatful because they don't currently sell custom parts

I love saw the ride and I personally don't find it to rough! Also this recreation is amazing and really accurate! I love it!
Next for knex (see what i did there?). Can you do the smiler roller-coaster from alton Tower? If so that will be amazing!

Serpent train wouldn't even get past the tight corners lol. No chance of even doing 1 element

I'd love to do smiler but unfortunately there isn't a possible way for me to do it. I have to build my projects in sections becuase my bedroom is small and with the smiler layout it's so compact and mixed it's just not possible. Maybe one day when I get a cheap bit of land or my own gardon.

Do you always build coasters starting at the lift hill and working backwards, or do you think building it forwards works better?
Backwards is the best if you want them to work and have enough speed.

There’s a vertical one and there’s a little one before you do the barrel roll

@ApplePieMan knexusergroup you buy parts in bulk. Screamin serpent is a name of a set that you can buy used maybe 10 times to have enough to build
You should try to do the Shockwave from Six Flags Great America so I can finally ride the coaster I was too small too before they broke it. Apologies if you already did

Hi thanks for watching and following along! I got lucky because the amazing team at k'nex / BasicFunToys organised getting me a bunch of custom colours tubing. they wont make it for sale unfortunately. but you can still find the normal colours on ebay, facebook marketplace or k'nexusergroup. purple and red are the easiest to find.

@@arctwosix4331 cant lie saw the ride was a bit rushed. I spent like 2 weeks making the train and forgot to sortout how it attaches to the chain and then the magnets wouldnt fit underneither for the brakes.
so I gave up on a working lift, station and brake.
no worries though for zadra. that trains already done from my last attempt, has magnets and working chain dogs! station and lift getting built first !
