Kickboxing is a HUGE support for grappling. You use 2 -5 clinch knees then press any direction you want and a certain button to do diffrent submissions. The damage you to to the health that turns the heathbar grey changes the effectivness of the submissions. When the big health bar is seperated from the health bar thats trying to come back the submissions make a huge impact. Submissions that get limbs to half health make a diffrence. Submission to peoples legs makes them slower and their kicks weaker. Same with the arms and head sumbissions will make them easier to stun.
You gotta either press kick or punch right before they grab you to counter them. Flick the left stick towards the A.I while pressing block right before they throw the strikes to counter them.
You gotta add street fighting as your 3rd style so you can throw the KO haymaker.
Raise toughness over health lower body cuz you have kickboxing and speed 💯beat this game over 7 times on my mama I love this shit
For the last style you should get either streetfighting or wrestling
That's only when it's the first style iirc
Pretty good two style mix. I would suggest streetfighting as the third style for the haymaker ko punch to be added. I think the punch strings will also get faster. Start using the clinch to chain into wall grapples and submissions. You'll need to learn those skills for late game. You punch and kick your way out of grapples. If you block, they will get you every single time.

The key to reversing is when you block flick yo analog stick, you’ll know you did it right when both of yo hands does a animation, reversing also helps when the enemy tries to melee attack you, the melee would switch n you could do a counterattack 😈

N the best way to counter a grapple attack is by pressing triangle instead of square because I think kicking is delayed to them grabbing somehow 😭💯

You can't block grabs. You can only counter them with the punch or kick button. Also, the best style for counter attacking is Martial Arts.

It’s funny how Ricky says he didn’t know some of these guys I use to always think what if this game had some of Def Jam’s top main artists at the time in the game could u imagine Ja Rule or even Jay-Z being in the game considering his artist were. And to add insult to injury the game was called fight for NEW YORK meanwhile Snoop being the villain he was from Cali 😂😂😂

@@3MGTV Icon definitely didn’t have Def Jam artist in it. DMX was suppose to be in FFNY but he wanted more money. That was probably the reason for most of Def Jam artist’s not taking part in the game.
I believe that's why so many characters in ffny were made up, to keep the roster complete. Not the most preferable move, but to move it up to 74 fighters it was smart. many characters = many movesets which = more diversity.

Idk if you’ll see this Ricky but when you throw someone into the wall you get 2 light punches before they fall so after the 2 light punches you can grab him. Gives you a little bit more damage output.

Can someone tell him you can’t block “strong grapples” 😂 that why they are strong. They take longer to grab.
So if u press r1 and l1 I believe he’ll do a catch animation time it wit an enemy attack to parry. Time a square press when he grabbing to reverse that as well
