Love the recipe. The way I was shown when I was young was to cook the onions first and mix half into the dough, the rest sprinkled on the outside. The woman who gave me the recipe also added things like sun dried tomatoes, diced anchovies, diced artichoke hearts, cheese and folded the dough over then onions on the outside. Boy I miss her and her cooking.
I love how she says Laura Vitale in the intro of her videos. I also love her videos in general I love how she walks you through every step. Keep doing what you doing gurl!
Thanks Laura you have made my last year turkey day a hit, I made the turkey as you explained and everyone kept telling me that it was the best turkey they have ever tasted. Yay your officially my teacher.
Hi Laura!! I can officially say that I'm addicted to your channel! Love all of your videos and it's because of you that I started cooking. I didn't think I would ever excel in that area but you make it very easy and effortless. I wish you endless success. With that said, I just wanted to find out the nail polish you have on in this video...just lovely.
I just wanted to thank you for answering my email and helping me with all the recipes for my wedding buffet. It was a huge success!! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer! You are the best! Love from Mexico!
I love making foccia, and haven't made it in a while.I'm going to make this one because my husband will love the onions on top, thanks again Laura...love watching all of your videos.
Wow, that was an amazing recipe. If was really fun to make as I love working with yeast doughs. And because I had never made or tasted a focaccia before tonight. It really was delicious. Love both the caramelized onions and the parmesan. The fresh herbs made it truly amazing. Such soft, fluffy bread. It also worked well done entirely by hand. I don't have the stand mixer but I still loved the results Thank you so much for this recipe. Will definitely be making more Focaccia in the future.
I just made this... BOYYYY THEY WERE THE FLUFFIEST BREAD I HAVE EVER TASTED. Super super delicious. The dough recipe is the best. I used dried rosemary because its hard to find fresh ones here. Nonetheless they came up amazing. Family love them. Thank you laura! Your recipes are the best.
I made it and it fur Ed out very fluffy just like yours and every time I take a bite I look at the fluffiness and compare it to yours. And by the way I was up with my cousin and sister and I watched your video and decided to make it. I started at 1:00 and started eating at 3:00. We loved it. Thank you so much.
Laura, WOW I LOVE YOU, an Italian after my own HEART. I LOVE Focaccia BREAD ! This stuff is the FOOD OF THE GODS! It is so addicting, and VERSITAL ! I am so excited, I made it and my family went NUTS, Thank you so much for the Video, I am ETERNALLY GRATEFUL! FINALLY as an ITALIAN I can make my ethnic bread ! I will never be able to thank you ! Thank you a Billion times!
PSSSS...concerning the Focaccia bread, why i am so passionate about this now is that now we can meet as a family and eat this bread, as pizza as sandwich, or just by itself but the point is We get to spend the day as a family, which is most important to me...YOU made this possible, by sharing your recipe,so we send you our thanks & Love ! Thank you ! You are the best!
I've had that problem too. I learned from a cookbook, that adding a bit of cornstarch (about 1 tsp. diluted in a bit of water), will keep the Lasagne together. Picture perfect I would say! Nice and tall, without having the pasta slipping and sliding all over the place! Hope it works for you as well!
I wish my oven would work!! Say Laura can u do a cooker buying guide I never bought one and as ill be trying your recipes I guess ur the perfect person to ask...
just finished making your garlic and herb porkchops with your onion gravy, mashed potatoes, cucumber spinach salad, and your lemon bars (im putting my own twist with a little orange) and i cannot wait to dig in!
hii laura! thank you soo much fr yr recipies... hey btw, for the soft pretzels and pizza and more stuff you let the dry yeast sit for some time in water.. can i do the same with instant yeast? thanks!
I saw another recipe where they really dug their fingers in and tore small holes in the dough before baking and it came out with all these golden-brown peaks and valleys in the bread, so I'll probably try that with your recipe! Thank you!!
Hi Laura! Would it be possible for you to tell us what to pair with some of your recipes? I've tried a few (and they came out soooo delicious!) but I sometimes idk what to put with it. Like does the focaccia need a sauce or something? Idk lol thanx for another great vid :)
The things I would do to be in your kitchen and smell all that greatness you cook. :D Laura, could you tell me what pots and pans you recommend? My new husband and I are moving into our first apartment and I'd like to splurge a little on kitchen stuff. Thanks!
Hi Laura, I really love your recipes :) I would love to make a tomato focaccia. I ate one in italy and it was so sweet (the tomatoes) - I have no idea how to prepare the small tomatoes so that it will taste like I remember it. Maybe you have a tip for me? Thank you so much! xxxxx
ur awesum laura...believe it or not my husband has become a huge fan of urs...and he calls you my god....everytym i have tried any recipe of yours...they are perfect..not even once they have got messed up....u r awesome....i hope to meet you sometime soon...wanna a huge hug !!! this came out out awesome!! :DDD
hi laura !i love your cooking and i was wondering if u can make a video of how to make french toast with any kind of bread ...i really love it but every time i try it doesnt work out so well...please help!
Had the same issue. She mentioned that you could look up her Focaccia recipe from one of her earlier videos. Just look up that recipe on her site. As far as the topping on this particular one, you just have to follow what she does on this video. I made this tonight and it was easy to follow. Good Luck :D
@micimackoful actually baking is more of a science because measurements need to be more precise than in cooking. :) A half of a teaspoon one way or another matters. I only used the garlic as an example in my post. The problem I had was with the direction to dissolve the salt in water in the recipe instead if her adding it right to the flour in the video. It changed the dough and I had to keep adjusting the flour and water. I gave up when I had more flour on myself than in the dough..lol.
Sorry to be off topic but does anybody know a trick to log back into an instagram account? I somehow lost my login password. I would love any help you can offer me!
Hi laura! I love your clips because its easy to follow and the recipe is simple. I have a request please make your version of funnel cakes!!! Please if you can! I would greatly appreciate it! Keep it up! XD
hi what is the dish in the square bowl at the beginning of this video please it looks delicious i am subscribed to your channel but cannot find the recipe for it,it's at the beginning of episode 531
I just watched the episode with Eric Ripert where you make pizza dough and I noticed that in both dough recipes you use sugar. Can sugar be substituted with anything else?
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. This is the best focaccia recipe ever. Now, you add caramelized onions? Perfection! :) Thank you for sharing.
If I bake a garlic clove with rosemary and salt, and then spread it over the bread with the onions will it be good, or is it too much? Or should I spread the garlic on at the end? Thank you.
Laura I'm not sure if you've done this before and I know it's super easy but can you please make a French Bread recipe? It's my favorite bread ever!! Please(: xoxo

Julia Campbell so were the sundried tomato and artichoke hearts like in the middle of the focaccia like half way through or mixed into the batter??
Laura you have such a gift of teaching people! You make things so easy to understand
This is such a classic flavor combination and so easy to do!!

Thanks Laura you have made my last year turkey day a hit, I made the turkey as you explained and everyone kept telling me that it was the best turkey they have ever tasted. Yay your officially my teacher.
I like to use honey instead of sugar in dough as well as activating the yeast. It really makes a nice difference

This delicious and very fluffy. Although in my case I had to substitute the all purpose flour for whole wheat flour.

You're my kitchen hero! Beauty and talent :)
Omg looks so good
I just watched the episode with Eric Ripert where you make pizza dough and I noticed that in both dough recipes you use sugar. Can sugar be substituted with anything else?
Hey Laura! How long can you store this bread?
i love it when she say HI GUYS in almost every video AND I LOVE HER FOOD :D
Yes Angel...they're the same! Saludos!
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. This is the best focaccia recipe ever. Now, you add caramelized onions? Perfection! :) Thank you for sharing.
Can you use quick rise. Instant yeast
If I bake a garlic clove with rosemary and salt, and then spread it over the bread with the onions will it be good, or is it too much? Or should I spread the garlic on at the end?
Thank you.
Yummy and I love onions 👌🇿🇦
where did you put it to rise the second time? (when it was in the roll pan??)
Watching this when I'm supposed to be studying. I regret nothing
i love all your videos you make me starving!!!
Laura, I love your recipes, but need exact measurements (a package of yeast???)
It is okay if i don't put thyme in the caramelized onions?
Laura love the food you make but when you do your food videos, can you please explain how much of the ingredients go into making it.
how would you eat this? like an appetizer or a meal?
Ooh yummy! I remember buying focaccia bread for lunch everyday when i was in elementary school in italy :)
You should make recipes on what to bring for a potluck!!
Laura I'm not sure if you've done this before and I know it's super easy but can you please make a French Bread recipe? It's my favorite bread ever!! Please(: xoxo
