FILM DESCRIPTION:
In 1967 Los Angeles, widowed mother Alice Zander (Elizabeth Reaser) unwittingly invites authentic evil into her home by adding a new stunt to bolster her séance scam business. You know what makes this scene stand out and scarier?
No music, no sound effects, no jump scares, no nothing. Just listening to a voice, about being strangled. That’s horror.

And finally, that fire turns to ice. Like pins and needles of ice are sticking into your fingers, your toes, your arms. You see stars, then darkness. And the last thing you feel, is cold.

I like how they didn't put any creepy music during Doris's monologue. Mike Flanagan is a really competent horror director. If this was directed by the same hack who did the original, this scene would've been ruined.
