I know this is an old video, but I believe that this is a dirty mode switch. It is the one common thing among most VCRs. When the mode switch is dirty, it causes bizarre behavior like what is shown.
lmao when it ate the tape the first time, instead of saying “eject” it did eject, then said rewind and shut off, the motors were still trying to work, i was questioning why that was happening lmao
The "Game" mode is basically the same as the "Aux In" mode. The "Game" mode is used for the front RCA jacks. The "Rental" mode enables you to improve the picture quality when playing back worn cassettes such as rented tapes. I have a Symphonic TV/VCR combo that is similar to this model.
You could actually improve the picture quality of tapes when you played them back in this VCR? Never knew that was possible. I would have thought the only way you could do that was adjust the tracking, although that doesn't always work, obviously. Does your TV also have an FM radio built in? And does it still work well?
@@chenowethrules9539 the game mode on my new 13" emerson tv vcr it basically makes the picture good for playing video games. It has the contrast, brightness, color, sharp, tint all centered.
Maybe the Game button switches it to the front panel inputs, or something like that? Interesting how it doesn't go past twelve, but it goes to 1998, before it was built.
I had the same problem with my tv with built in VCR. After a while of using one of these kinds of CRTs, the VCR kept eating the tape. And it ruined my Charlotte’s Web tape. The tv is gone now, and now I have a newer flat screen TV.
Wow... I used to have an RCA TV-VCR combo, and it started out working fine (until it did the same thing as the unit in the video) - wound up scrapping it shortly thereafter.
I have a Symphonic SC313B combo TV/VCR. It plays a tape fine. If I stop the tape the TV shuts off about 5-10 seconds later. If I turn it on it runs for another 5-10 seconds and shuts off. If I turn it on and play a tape it plays the tape fine. Any tips or tricks I can do to make the TV work without shutting down? I don't care about using the VCR. Thanks,
You're probably right. Today's Funai is complete crap! Back then Funai was good in the 1980s. I saw a video of a 1984 Funai top loader VCR that said Made in Japan on the back. It was very cool.
i was wondering if people did crt reviews, i'm glad there are still people who collect these things

I have a 9" Symphonic TV/VCR Combo from 2004, and it works fine. In fact, it has no tape eating problems whatsoever!

Newer Funai VCRs are kinda crappy
I can’t believe it kept your tape I would always put a bad tape in so that way in case it chews up
This TV did not arrive in my country, Brazil
... =(
Older Panasonic vcrs from the early 90s also don't go past 2012 on the clock set.
Maybe the Game button switches it to the front panel inputs, or something like that?

Use your VHS vcr videorecorder and blank VHS tapes to get even with the news media
5:00 TV it's doesn't be mute... :/ (For Mechanism sound)
LOL! How else is a VCR going to work without a motor?
what's the name of the controller
I know how to fix the vcr. MODE SWITCH😮
That "game" input is probably just the composite input. Some TVs said "game" instead of "video" or "AV" or" AV input" or whatever.
I think these TVs were known to be for kids and they would connect their game consoles or Plug N play games to the TV.
The eye under the sensor needs a cleaning, and I guarantee that the vcr will work, but I bet you tossed this thing years ago or still have it idk.
ah yes, sylvania remote on symphonic. so normal

Maybe in "rental" it would never rewind the tape!
Best explanation yet :)
WE HATE FUNAI!
Hell yeah.
not surprising a symphonic combo tv vcr is eating tapes
I found a rare 1993 RCA tv vcr combo it’s so hard to find
Wow... I used to have an RCA TV-VCR combo, and it started out working fine (until it did the same thing as the unit in the video) - wound up scrapping it shortly thereafter.
the game button is for a game input

FUNAI SUCKS!!!!!
I used to have this same model at my dad's house when I was little, although I think mine was manufactured after 1999.
New tv's don't have fm radios
mine won't take it all the way and keeps ejecting and I c nothing wrong with inside
That's an odd place to put a flyback.
I had that same problem with my 9 inch Symphonic TV/VCR Combo.
A tv with fm wow
Lost in Space :-)
Symphonic TV VCR
6:06...It’s because CRTs shouldn’t be in use that late.
That is an older funai tv. 2002 2003 funai tv vcrs the year goes past 2012 on those.
Bob the Builder Symphonic TV dodo
→ ù TAPE/CLOSED
TODAY'S FUNAI IS TRASH!!!!!!!
No doubt about that.
Smells like tube dodo
