    STAY OUT OF MY KITCHEN, JAXX! 🤣 You and I seem to have a lot of the same gear. I haven't upgraded to the + version yet, though. My old school one still works fine for now (not for lack of trying to melt it a couple times with flare ups). I always pull mine before the sear. That tri-tip looked awesome. Stay well and have a great weekend, buddy.

      So no issues at all? and how long have you had it? I keep seeing that some people have had all kinds of problems and other say they love it and it's the best thing since sliced bread. Really interested in your honest feedback on the MEATER .. I'd like to pin your comment on it so other folks can see what you have to say.. good or bad. You have a great weekend as well my friend.

      @@JaxxDrinkwater My original (probably had it for a bit over 2 years?) has minor issues. It drops connection occasionally and it was finicky about pairing with a previous phone. I blame the last one more on the app/software than the hardware.
      I've actually been waiting for it to give me an excuse to replace it with the MEATER+, but it keeps on ticking. Is it perfect? No. But, it's still the best wireless option I have tried yet...and it was good enough I stopped using others, although I still keep my eyes open.

    It seems like a pretty cool thermometer and that's a cool overview Jaxx! My big reason for using it would be the rotisserie, although there some hacks around using a standard wire probe. Still and all not bad and the app looks good too. Have a great weekend brother!

    Can I ask, would you please elaborate more on the battery life?
    1) does that mean that after (approx) 100 full battery charges it will gradually stop working and then I need to purchase another???
    2) full battery charge lasts 24 hours, does that mean that I need to charge it again 24 hours after the last charge if I want to use it? or is it 24 hours of use before I need to charge it?
    3) do i need to take battery out when not using it?
    thanks in advance

    My plus does not work with my YS 640S smoker. It aslo quits on a long slow cook. The metal on the 640S is too thick. I was told to bring the + base outside with it! I have Thermo Smoke 4 wired that is a dream to use. BTW my 640S gets on my wifi no problem.

    • @JaxxDrinkwater
      @JaxxDrinkwater  4 года назад +3

      Have you tried using it with the base outside yet to see if it works? They told me to make sure I keep the base around it at all times. I have heard a few people say that they have had had some connection issues with certain types of grills. I haven not tried it with any longs cooks as of yet. If anything changes on my end I will update this video or do another video. Again I'm still getting familiar with it.

    I'm 1 hr into a rotisserie cook in my new GMG at 300degrees. Ambient temp on my Meter+ although slowly climbing, only reads 212F after 90minutes into this cook. My 1st with Meter+. End of probe is clean and unobstructed. Not happy with this! (Internal temp seems accurate, I think)

  • @johnbueker5664
    @johnbueker5664 Год назад

    I reverse sear ribeyes.question, after I bring internal temp to 125 I think it would be best to remove the probe before searing to prevent damage, yes.. I sear for 2 minutes each side and it comes out perfect
