    Since I couldn't check my information before, I made some factual errors. For example, Cairo wasn't yet built in 929 and al-Ghazali died in 1111. Also, I generalized things, obviously, but that's to get a point across.

      That’s a very simplified understanding of democracy that is not in line with how modern democracies work. In a modern democracy: 1) only citizens can be elected for legislation 2) There is a scope to what laws can be made guarded by the Judiciary who can strike down laws or bills as unconstitutional no matter what the majority states.
      If after all this, Muslims want to amend the constitution that mandates only Islam- then the least of your worries is about governance.

    Eyup, just going to add my perspective of things during the Russia-Ukraine war outbreak from someone who accessed Western media. I felt that the defense of Ukraine was so unanimously supported by the West broadly because of the reputation Appeasement has since a near century ago. Crimea suddenly was reminiscent of the Anschluss, Invasion of Ukraine proper; annexation of Sudetenland. If we were to learn from the mistakes from our history, then judging by what appeasement may have led to, perhaps this time it was indeed better to nip it in the bud now rather than risk global escalation etc.

      That said, I did not enjoy the part about Russia towards the end. It's disregarding the oppression and fear that Russias neighbours have lived under as "Russophobia". There's a reason why countries like the baltics, Poland and Ukraine are so much more anti-russian than say France and Germany.
      We didn't portray Russia as much a villain as Russia decided that we, it's neighbours, are nothing but its "sphere of influence" and that our foreign politics and relations essentially are not our own to decide. It's blatant imperialism and we want nothing to do with it.

    • @AlMuqaddimahYT
      @AlMuqaddimahYT  2 года назад +1

      I agree with that. Maybe I didn't put it right. I didn't mean that Russophobia isn't justified. From time to time, it was very justified (not always but often). I meant that it's been portrayed in propaganda very clearly which is why Russian Imperialism is much easier for us to see and to protest against than American Imperialism. We were talking about language and PR so, that's what I meant.

    5:19 as a person trained in engineering, my recent interest in history got me thoroughly confused in the beginning because you could find reports of events (reports are biased by reporter) and then you need to build a story from it to understand (that is biased by myself). So, how to find "true" history? There is no such thing. It is what your best guess is based on given information, and will change with new info. Like he said, you pick "arbitrary" side based on what you think the theme is when clear information is not available. Even in present day if you ask someone why he did something, he will give one reason, others may give another reason, your own understanding may give yet another reason. The reason you choose to accept will determine the overall narrative. Its messy and therefore must not be used as a basis to ever attack others today in any manner. There is a lot of hidden opinions in history, let alone current affairs.

    It is absurd to think that Islam can be like Christianity and Judaism when it it comes to opting for culture or ethnicity without religion. The biggest problem here is that there will rise up one group who are able to claim a monopoly on the culture or ethnicity. As a culture or ethnicity, those who choose to become Muslim by taking their shahaada will feel alienated due to their non-Arab or non-Asian ethnicity. You often hear the phrase, 'I am an atheist Jew.' The next logical question would be what does that mean? Is this why Ethiopian Jews are discriminated against by their European brothers? Will Islam end up becoming a culture or ethnicity where membership is decided upon by birth only, rather than choice and belief? With regards to homosexuality or alcohol or idolatry, if these are things that you wish to pursue, then simply opt-out. There is no compulsion in Islam, but please do not take efforts to corrupt the religion for your selfish desires. Islam has never tolerated homosexuality and the punishment is clear. However, that being said, no Muslim will sneak into your bedroom to out you or condemn you as an individual. As a Muslim, we understand that the creation is imperfect in their actions, not their creation. Allah is perfect. We are not. I don't know of any Muslim who discusses his bedroom or private affairs. Although there are many Muslims who watch porn, I have never heard discussions about it. It is simply not important what you do behind closed doors because that is between you and Allah. That is the Muslim belief. Your viewers who have questions about Islam and the treatment of Homosexuality, should watch Hamza Yusef on this subject here: ruclips.net/video/iXRnWTB2FRg/видео.html

    the clergy at the orders of the dynasties with a few exceptions does not represent individuals not affiliated to the dynasties by blood ties, in other words it does not represent the majorities since it is paid by the minorities (the dynasties again Once!).
    one will perhaps search all eternity without finding any allusion to the principle of a dynastic power ruling the life of the Muslims in this world.
    this strangely resembles what was happening in Europe before the century of revolutions also known as "The Age of Enlightenment": Church and Monarchy agreeing to dominate those who had not joined the Church and those who were not from Royal blood.
    it is this "revolutionary" century that will bring democracy to Europe but in fact it is just a rediscovery or an update of this concept developed by ancient Greece (it looks like the story of Thales from Miletus
    and electricity): discovery here and a few centuries later rediscovery there and men have the impression of having progressed!

    Democracy is kufr. The idea of ijma’ is not the same as democracy.
    The scholars dont decide on something and then ask for other scholars to show a raise of hand if they agree😂
    The scholars each look at the source material with their years of knowledge and experience, then they base a judgement according to quran and sunnah (daleel)
    If scholars accept that the daleel (evidence) is in line with an opinion, they accept it and thats heat becomes ijma. For example, it is ijma’ that one cannot marry his mother. Something that is definitive.

To me it's only because russian troops are the one doing the marching so of course the US is up in arms but can't pull the usual bomb the target into nonexistence stratagem. I mean, they only liberated Kosovo to place troops there essentially.(But hey, I'll take them over the serbs) Regardless, Ukraine is no better off than us. It's an ex communist country whose politics, economy, corruption and general future outlook were shit. Just like the rest of us eastern europeans. Hell, Russia might've had a semi dictatorship but Ukraine certainly was no flourishing democracy(if that even exists). The two countries weren't that different, pre war at least. We better Look at the Problems separately in every single matter nd should fix them as that A Simple problem not As "The whole religion is holding us back" type of Action
    My Friend if u dont know enough about Religion its fine but dont say " Its about time we change it nd become Like all other people of the book " our Religion is perfect we r not Our Prophet was Perfect our Leaders R Not Our idea of Ummah is perfect our ways to be it r not
    If Islam was being implemented in all the lands where Ummaht-Ul-Muslima was we would hv a lot of peace amongst ourselves but its not😔😔😔😔

      The best defense for democracy is "there are no alternatives". If that's the case then we should stop holding it to such high standards and consider it a benchmark for "civilized" nations.

    Syawish A Rahman brother am becoming a fan of your knowledge. I mean I myself do lot of research, but still am no where near the depth you have. I always wanted to be in such company, grow my knowledge and experience and be able to judge things going on these days. I want to do something for people, become an eyeopener through influencing them. If someone could guide me the method of studying 📚 and doing research, without getting into degree curriculum 📜 .

    The figures used in history books such as Tabari, waqidi, etc. are totally out of proportion. In the first twenty years of the so called Muslim conquest over 5 millions are supposed to have been killed by Muslims! Ditto, the Tigers turning red due to Hulago armies slaughter is just someone trying to be dramatic.

    Hi love your work not sure if you will respond to this but if you do that conversation about Pakistani identity struck very hard. Millions of people including myself had ancestors who left for Pakistan from India 80 years ago and simply are left with a Pakistani identity. Unlike yourself as a Punjabi or Sindhi etc. As a muhajir I feel that if I don’t see myself as a Pakistani then I am no one whereas others in Pakistan who didn’t migrate at least have their ethnic groups identity. The only way for us to feel we belong is if all Pakistanis regardless of ethnicity throw away their heritage as you suggested which at some level feels wrong. Perhaps muhajir is an identity in itself.

    • @AlMuqaddimahYT
      @AlMuqaddimahYT  2 года назад +2

      I don't know very much about Mujahirs and how they feel about their identities but I have heard that Muhajirs have felt excluded from society. Pakistan's ideology really did not do anything to help create a new identity and preserving the old ones. We were expected to leave our identities and become "Pakistani" so, I do believe that what's been done to groups such as Muhajir is wrong.

    I think In Pakistan Societal reformation is underway, The fact that people claim they are Muslims and then doing things on the contrary is the testimony of majority being fasiq and munafiqs. Pakistan suffers more with individual corruption and doesn't strive to be more righteous.
    Moreover, I think Moududi gives lots of literature on political Islam.

    I was surprised that you didn't mention the Mutzilla or the Quranists or Avicenna when asked about reform in Islam. The current version of Islam IS kind of a reform but a conservative one by Al Ghazali and his patron caliph. And I learned that from you in the Mehna video. Also you mention the internet and colonialism but not your own video on the printing press, the thing which greatly helped the protestant reform.
