Wow what a way land price gone up, I wonder if it’s one price foe the foreigners and another for the locals🤷🏽♀️ From experience many years ago I wanted to buy a house in Mandeville, I was given a price while in Jamaica, but when I returned to the Uk I was given a completely different price.

This video shows what all Jamaicana should be alarmed at. The beauty of the coastline being developed with monstrously large, italianate or modern homes that will need energy , water, and septic systems , that over time will be unsustainable.
The beaches also have been co opted by private concerns and not accessible to the locals.
Those lot prices do NOT include electric, well, or central water connection.
Green space should be preserved and natural habitats saved.

These lands are far too expensive, especially as you have to put the cost of the build on top. In most other parts of the world, you would get some form of the house on top of the land.
Poor Jamaicans are being priced out of their own country.
Poor Jamaicans would not live in DRAX HALL though. There are cheaper land available but have to be careful where.
You have a point. The fact that the price is quoted in USD tells you the market they are going for. Regular Jamaicans living there like my grandfather etc DO NOT spend USD.
Who is making sure we r having our island environment preserved for farming, and for locals to live with a healthy and respectful lifestyle.
Look at other islands where the wealthy enclaves are gated and resources are prioritized there.
The government has a responsiblity to the native Jamaican. As a St. Ann native, we need to beware of the lack of oversight to what is happening to this beautiful island.

Too expensive for a 1/4 acre lot ..and obviously they are marketing to foreigners and not locals ..the average local person can not afford these lots much less a house ..so many of us will die never owning a house or land in jamaica smh sad

You'll struggle get 1/2 acre for £20K unless in the stoney bush way inland and most like a hill side.

The most important question one should ask when buying real-estate is, how good is the surrounding infrastructure, is there a good hospital to serve you if you get sick?
Is there a low crime rate?
How well does the authority solve crime?
If you can't answer yes to all of those, then you are just buying with the hope to sell at a higher price and thats just speculation.
Not speculation. Plenty areas in Jamaica are not having a crime problem as evidenced by the many people living life who aren't paralyzed in fear. I definitely agree if one plans to live in it either now or later it should have access to great medical care and be near as possible to a police station.
Real estate grows in value. How fast it grows is where "location, location, location" comes in. It better to spend the right money on land in the right location and build a moderate house than buy eat land in the wrong location and then build big expensive house.
This is true everywhere not just Jamaica.

I respect your viewpoint but I don't believe that we should measure the crime problem based on if the crime is happening on a micro scale only, for example, too long we have this notion that because crime is rampant down town and not uptown the people who can afford to live in the uptown area would say they are all set, that is a false sense of security, I see the problem from a macro point of view, if crime is rampant down town, its bad for the whole of Kingston. Too often we have this mind set that if it is not happening to me then its all good, well its not, and trust me when I tell you its only a matter of time before it will be at your door step in cherry gardens. Any man that is hungry and desperate on a street will see the othe man as food and opportunity. Let that sink in. Yes I do agree with you that real estate is all about location but what is good location today may not be a good location tomorrow if we have civil unrest.

These were all residential lots, and we’ve since learnt that all of the Draxhall lots have been sold. I know right, the prices are extremely high!!!!!
