I was over at my aunt's house and they were playing a game where the goal was to build a card house with as many cards as possible, whoever uses the most cards wins. I used this method and stacked 2 entire decks of cards on top. They weren't very happy with me lol.
I figured out the quarter one instantly. For the wine glass trick I would have folded the cards. I don't think you stated that it was against the rules. "You can build any kind of structure you want" that means I can fold the cards.
For the coin one I thought you would use the one from a different episode (before or after this im not sure) where you have somebody else grab the coin and card then put the coin back. That way you never touch the coin or another edge, someone else does
I was thinking about the triangle thing you did, and also i was thinking about folding the cards to help them stand up, you never mentioned they couldn't fold the cards.
My wine glass structure solution: Take one card, fold it in half and then unfold to make a right angle. Now do the same with another card and line them up with the folded corners touching so it looks like an "x" from above. The cards may move a little back and forth but can support the wine glass as it is filled with water.
hey just to tell u brian u can also just take 3 cards and u just make a zigzag shape out of the cards and u can balence stuff on that cas i tryed it and i held up big books this style
Hahaha, I though I was so crafty for acing both of these. Although my solution of flicking out the card and having the quarter remain in place was correct. My solution to the first one is so badass I can do it with just 3 cards maybe less. Just take the cards and fold them in half then stand up that V such that the V shape is against the table. That crease will not collapse, so two or three of those can hold the glass no problem
Here's a stronger card structure. Take your 3 groups of three cars and place them with the long dimension against the table instead of the short dimension. Now arrange them in a sort of spiral pattern. This is the solution I came up with - stronger due to the orientation, but a sort of similar concept to yours. The absolute strongest structure would be a cylinder, but I didn't want to bend my deck of cards.
Yeah I was totally thinking of tearing two cards half way through, and then sliding those two cards together at the tear, to form an "x," then place a card flat on top of the "x" and put the glass on top. I would've owed you a new deck I think.
Scam School So i just discovered scam school like 4 days ago. I am pretty sure i have now watched over half of your videos. You are awesome. I just 2 questions. 1. why does it have the year 1991 at the bottom left hand corner in the intro when your name pops up. 2. what is your belt buckle? If you are ever in Houston Tx, I will buy you 2 beers just because you are awesome
I tried a different card structure with 9 cards and since I didn't have a wine glass, I stacked boxed decks of cards on top. It supported 7 decks then collapsed when I added the eighth...
I managed to do it before he revealed it, i placed 3 cards like this /_\ then placed the rest of the cards on the top, the more weight at the top, the stronger it is, to a certain point obviously. I sat a full wine glass on it for 10 mins and it was fine, i even tried a larger glass with more water and it still worked. Similar to Brians method but i'm proud i figured this one out :)
Yes, I know that, I first watched this when it first came out, so your comment didn't even exist back then. Just felt like coming back and watching it again.
I won $700 with the wine glass card tower. All I was saying was "I could build a card tower with 9 cards that can hold a full wine glass." They said "I bet you $100 you can't."
could you fold the cards? fold them like in half sorta so one card is able to stand on its own do that with 3 cards and make them into a little box type thing use the remaining 6 cards as a roof? according to the rules its high enough and you dident say you couldent fold cards
Got the coin trick worked out straight away. Tip to anyone trying it, flick it in the middle because I kept flicking the edge and the card just spins and the coin and card just fall off.
for the first, I'm thinking you bend the cards so it stands up without needing to lean them on each other. make a triangle, then use the rest as reinforcement. for the second, I'm thinking something like that quick jerk you'd do with a tablecloth. *after watching* that's cool. I would have never come up with that structure. I think I was close enough. I'm hoping I see you in a bar one day so you have to buy my a drink lol
For the second challenge, I would have: 1. bend the cards and build a basic structure. 2. Lick 4 cards and press them on the table to make a strongish base to support a 5 card structure ( a tent with 2-card support and a a 1 card floor).
yessssss i did the coin one by my self before seeing the answer. i quickly flicked the corner of the card and it went away, leaving the coin there :D also i wrote this before seeing the ending, so not sure if that's what they did :P
I solved the first one by bending 6 of the cards in half so they stand on their short side. Interlock and overlap the cards to form a sturdy base. Lay the remaining 3 cards on top to creat the flat platform for the wine glass to stand on. Then, fill 'er up! Too easy since he never said you couldn't bend the cards.
Lol I solved this cardhouse challenge by folding some cards into a spiral and putting the glass on top of that xD Worked perfectly fine though it wasn't even close to falling :)
I knew the second one and was screaming flick it and on the first one i thought cant you just roll the card up and put it on its side and then put the glasso n it?
I figured out the second. But the first needs a NEW RULE. I got the 1st.. but I guess it was kinda cheating. Which was to bend the cards into V shapes and stack them near each other with 1 card on top.
that fail high five at 6:34 tho
6:34 high five denied
I love and appreciate Scam School and Brian Brushwood!
6:33 - the rejection hahahha but I hope you smashed both of them
I was over at my aunt's house and they were playing a game where the goal was to build a card house with as many cards as possible, whoever uses the most cards wins. I used this method and stacked 2 entire decks of cards on top. They weren't very happy with me lol.
6:32 That ackward moment where your hand is high but the "hi-5" never comes..
6:33 ignored lmao
Yay! I actually figured it had to be a triangle! Do you know if the cup matters tho?
I figured out the quarter one instantly. For the wine glass trick I would have folded the cards. I don't think you stated that it was against the rules. "You can build any kind of structure you want" that means I can fold the cards.
KSU__EMAW yeah, I definitely should have covered that base.
I got the Quarter one figured out. That wine glass one I would not have gotten. Only because I can't build things.
I also figure out the quarter one pretty quickly. It looks cool though when you you do it.
For the coin one I thought you would use the one from a different episode (before or after this im not sure) where you have somebody else grab the coin and card then put the coin back. That way you never touch the coin or another edge, someone else does
Was trying this during the video, and i got the second one immediately. :D
I was thinking about the triangle thing you did, and also i was thinking about folding the cards to help them stand up, you never mentioned they couldn't fold the cards.
I got the second one right but not the first. but I did think " this is scam school. I probably have to cut the cards and only use 2 of the 9"
1:46 - hahaha, that's what I was thinking since this was supposed to be a silly trick.
A lot of people hate ur hair in these old videos. But I personally thinks it's looks amazing.
My wine glass structure solution: Take one card, fold it in half and then unfold to make a right angle. Now do the same with another card and line them up with the folded corners touching so it looks like an "x" from above. The cards may move a little back and forth but can support the wine glass as it is filled with water.
For the house of card trick I though about tarring them half way and inter-joining them, however that way works too.
I instantly figured out the thing with the card and the coin. That's really easy to figure out though.
hey just to tell u brian u can also just take 3 cards and u just make a zigzag shape out of the cards and u can balence stuff on that cas i tryed it and i held up big books this style
you sir deserve a medal .
Hahaha, I though I was so crafty for acing both of these. Although my solution of flicking out the card and having the quarter remain in place was correct. Brian Troy well done!
Brian Troy I got that too haha.
+Scam School well the rule was that it had to be at least half a card length.
same for both of the puzzles and it would be half of the card length
if you fold it lengthwise you can do it the full height of the car but you'd need a few, less than 9 though I think
6:35 she got left hanging!
Yea, her face was priceless.
are people allowed to bend or fold the cards? if not add that as a rule also.
hey Brian..u rocks...I am from India and we like this show very much...
9:39 "Don't get me wet Hehe!"
:-P

This is the solution I came up with - stronger due to the orientation, but a sort of similar concept to yours.
The absolute strongest structure would be a cylinder, but I didn't want to bend my deck of cards.
you could also fold the card and turn it side ways, that should work too
haha :)) that hi 5 fail :( at 6:32
Yeah I was totally thinking of tearing two cards half way through, and then sliding those two cards together at the tear, to form an "x," then place a card flat on top of the "x" and put the glass on top. I would've owed you a new deck I think.
Got the quarter one easy. The wineglass one I got, but I used a different structure, that oddly worked.
I already heard of the first trick, but it's stil amazing!
Scam School So i just discovered scam school like 4 days ago. I am pretty sure i have now watched over half of your videos. You are awesome. If you are ever in Houston Tx, I will buy you 2 beers just because you are awesome
I may have missed it, but I'd also add that you are not allowed to bend the cards for the tower trick.
I think you have the top scam channel on youtube awesome tricks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i really wanna meet Brian in a bar... this week tho both were really easy to figure out
6:34 that akward moment when you wanna high five but the person on your right doesn't notice
I tried a different card structure with 9 cards and since I didn't have a wine glass, I stacked boxed decks of cards on top. It supported 7 decks then collapsed when I added the eighth...
lol what that chick says at 9:37
pretty sick brian !
I managed to do it before he revealed it, i placed 3 cards like this /_\ then placed the rest of the cards on the top, the more weight at the top, the stronger it is, to a certain point obviously. Yes, I know that, I first watched this when it first came out, so your comment didn't even exist back then. Just felt like coming back and watching it again.
i figured them both out its just the quarter one all i new is the basis of physics on how the card needed to get out from under the quarter.
I won $700 with the wine glass card tower. All I was saying was "I could build a card tower with 9 cards that can hold a full wine glass." They said "I bet you $100 you can't."
Couldnt you just bend 2 cards? And put them on their side or do you have to use all cards
could you fold the cards? fold them like in half sorta so one card is able to stand on its own do that with 3 cards and make them into a little box type thing use the remaining 6 cards as a roof? according to the rules its high enough and you dident say you couldent fold cards
Thanks!
i figured out the second one spot on, but could not do the first one if i had 100 years to solve!
Got the coin trick worked out straight away. Tip to anyone trying it, flick it in the middle because I kept flicking the edge and the card just spins and the coin and card just fall off.
for the first, I'm thinking you bend the cards so it stands up without needing to lean them on each other. make a triangle, then use

*after watching*
that's cool. I would have never come up with that structure. I think I was close enough. I'm hoping I see you in a bar one day so you have to buy my a drink lol
What if you fold three or four cards in half, then put an un-altered cards on top for a flat surface?
i do this trick ever time and i failing everytime but now you helped me with it thx
For the second challenge, I would have:
1. bend the cards and build a basic structure.
2. Lick 4 cards and press them on the table to make a strongish base to support a 5 card structure ( a tent with 2-card support and a a 1 card floor).
I just did the the one where you put a coin on the card and I held the right corner and pulled really fast and it staid on my finger
Brian talking about only touching one edge, , and Im just like, grab the card by the faces.
oh dang, I thought you were posting to the time that the first ad was at, not the time that the first ad ends. D:
I always think the intro is: scam school meow meow, scam school meow meow😂
yessssss i did the coin one by my self before seeing the answer. i quickly flicked the corner of the card and it went away, leaving the coin there :D also i wrote this before seeing the ending, so not sure if that's what they did :P
Well all u had to do is fold the card into a fan and put it between2 other glasses and put the wine glass on top of the card
( quirkanology)
8:25 Brian Brushwood is probably the only one who can build a card of houses.
I would have folded the cards into a corrugated surface (Like Cardboard) But I'd prolly have a rule named after me if I tried that. :P
thx these are great puzzles
how do you not snap figure out that quarter trick?
I see "Guaranteed to Piss Off Your Friends", let's just say I am glad I have tolerant friends.
Hey Brian Brushwood I did the wine cup trick but a little differently!
Please check it out! :)
ahhaha Brian left her hanging at 6:34 :)
This guy is hilarious
Wow I actually feel accomplished for once in my life. I figured them both out
Brian Brushwooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood!!!!!! :)))))
You're so cool.
what if you just fold the card in the middle at 90 degrees and use only three cards forming them into a triangle that has overlapping sides
I love how she goes for the high five and then brian just doesn't pay attention so she acts like it didn't happen
I got the card structure correct.
I got right the second one. the first one... i tought of bending the cards xD but well 50% effectivity
I already knew the second one...learned it before :)
I was thinking to bend the cards to make a more stable structure
On the house of cards couldn't u just fold 2 and put one on top
Easy solution to the wine glass one, fold the cards in half and set them on the side so they're in an L shape when looked at from above
6:34 ...he didn't gave her a high five ..funny!
Who's that outside at :54 ?
Brian's secret move: 2 girls, 18 cards, 1 glass.
Show it!
i think these are the only ones that i was able to find out by myself :D
GOD YOU ARE FUNNY!!!! i loled so hard after reading your comment
why did they set the card on the bottom too on the first scam?...
"slaying dragon witches with your 6 shooters."
lol.
I figured out the second. But the first needs a NEW RULE.
I got the 1st.. but I guess it was kinda cheating. Which was to bend the cards into V shapes and stack them near each other with 1 card on top.
Oh wow, first one I thought to just put the deck into the box then voila!
6:32 high five awareness fail
I worked out the quarter trick
i figured both of them out instantly and found my own way with the house of cards
Did you bend it
The second coin trick i instantly tried flicking the card but it was a massive fail and gave up..its harder than it looks
Pubert Cerktikaz It took me 3 tried lol. But my cards were super bent. I think it would be easier with new cards
I'm not done but is it a triangle?
AS in sideways, not an a frame
Figured both of Them out
I almost got it before he revealed it, but then when i was pouring the water, it felled and ruined 6 of my cards... :(
I got 'em both
I bowed 4 pairs of cards and put the 9th one on top. Seemed to work for me.
the first one i made a triangulate setting and used another card on top i did it the third time because i kept knocking it over myself
