It worked great on a group of 4 and one was a part-time magician too. They were all surprised even after I did it twice in a row. I tried something slightly different and stated, "when you see the candle about to go out, that means the candle found your card"... then once it almost goes out, I pick up the deck and continue the rest of the trick as designed. What you do is say something like "Now I didn't kill the flame, The flame when inside the box found your card and burn'd it but only your card." or try something like that if you're having a hard time finding what to say.
i started with a simple trick with my sisters card deck. then I grabbed my scorched deck from my pocket with the excuse that I wanted to use my deck because I was gonna burn a card and didn't wanna ruin any of hers lol. it was perfect! thanks!!

It looks cleaner, and as if you actually stopped to "their card" If done fast enough people will stop you long before you would mill the deck to the bottom so its almost forced on. All and all pretty neat!

Most people haven't, and thus are fooled by these small, fairly obvious tricks. And that's what makes them even more great, because once the trick is explained, anyone who didn't get it is going to do a major facepalm. I think this trick in particular showcases one of the greatest things about magic that is controlling your victim's perception of the trick.
The burnt card would be obvious with a riffle force, since it's usually done face down. And even if you can pull it off face up without anyone noticing, bending a partially burnt card is not recommended.

When I do this trick I will do a double lift so I can show the back of the card undamaged then put it in the box and continue with the trick as shown on the video.
It amazes me that I didn't even notice that he just got her to sign the card that was at the bottom of the deck... I went back to watch it again, and it's so obvious. I don't think I'd be able to pull this one off as well. Haha
Yeah it's actually a very simple move and effective. A person who is not magician will not understand that the bottom part of the deck doesn't ''move''!!!
@ThreeOfHeartsMagic I know how you feel but really all you need is two decks with the same color cause your forcing any card that you want placed at the bottom of the deck.

when he was taking the cards off the top why did he show them the bottom card? the bottom card didn't change at all...that was like the worst card control ever
I do this trick but I use a cull force. Much better than a hindu force cause it looks like a real free choice and u don't need to remove the card from the deck so it's harder to notice the card is warped by the flame.
Can somebody tell me how to get the discoloration at the back (done with a lightner) without bubbling and discoloration the front of the card. I screwed up six cards. Everytime when I trie it, the card bubbles!
When he was shuffling and the woman said stop he showed her the last card in the deck not the one that would make sense pick since the way he was shuffeling , that last card had already the black dust , he only made her think that she chose the card herself when it was the last card on the deck all the time.
What if you have a heckler who waits until you exhaust the pack and still doesn't say stop because they want you to get the force lost in the deck first? Would false cuts be too obvious to get the deck back when you notice they're prolly going to try and screw you over when they haven't said stop in the first like 10 seconds?

This method worked so good, Chris Ramsey added a corner tear to the force and released it as "voodoo"
I noticed the force, but I doubt most spectators would either notice it or think it was relevant to the performance. The final delivery is nice.

the magic is because the fire and air supply in the candle detect the sharpie/marker that was written on the card, leaving a black mark.

It's a good trick and I'm a really big fan of DG, but I have to say I like Wayne Houchin's Carbon Paper better
I do this trick at my high school all the time and people just freak out, its one of the best tricks in my arsenal but of course i use a better force.

Hold the card further away, if it's not making marks you're not holding close enough.
